The room had great lighting as we were on the top floor and was very charming overall. It was clean and cozy but still had plenty of space. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room, but was for our private use only. The downstairs bar was great to have right there and all the staff we interacted with were warm, friendly and helpful with recommendations and any other questions we had. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel and could easily walk to explore most areas of interest in the city.

She nice the bathroom is across the hall, we had to keep it locked separately, which is fine, but makes another thing to think about if you get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. But, we understand the reasoning and we’re happy to have our own private bathroom regardless.

I wanted to stay in the Red Light area of Amsterdam and was not disappointed. My room was Room 8, the best in the property. Right at the top with a brilliant view of the street and canal below. The area is very quiet early in the morning - I used to go to Omelegg for breakfast 400 metres away (highly recommended). The front ground floor of the hotel comprises the bar together with a small outside seating area just above the pavement where you can sit and people-watch. You are not supposed to drink anywhere actually on the street in Amsterdam but seemingly this little seating area, maybe six seats, delightfully seems exempt. The staff were very pleasant starting with little smiley Cat who does the rooms. I had the undeniable pleasure of meeting Frederika and Julie, the female bar staff and two other chaps whose names sadly I can't recall. Night time is probably just as you imagine it. Please don't think of taking night-time photos any where near the girls in their windows - 95 Euro fine!!

Absolutely nothing to do with the hotel but as a pedestrian I became exasperated with cyclists on my 5-day stay. It is just 110% anarchy! Everybody hammers around unhelmeted at a minimum 20mph not giving any audible warnings or hand signals, in front of you, behind you, bumping your arm. You would think that as a pedestrian and just starting across a pedestrian crossing you would be given a little quarter, but no. Ignore the fact that the Netherlands is supposed to be 'Drive on the Right'. Oh and, by the way Dutch cyclists - Red and Green - learn the difference! Just my little rant!

I loved our room overlooking the red light district. This hotel was perfect. Small hotel just double check your room type before booking as many of the rooms are designed for multiple young people to share. Although our room was right on the walking strip, as soon as we closed the shutters we were able to sleep.

Actually nothing. This hotel and especially the staff exceeded our expectations.

The location was great, the room was comfortable with a nice street view and the bar was awesome.

Be aware that the hotel is located in the heart of the red light district, so the noise continues throughout the night, especially on Saturdays. You might want to have enough drinks to help you sleep :) Also, the stairs are the typical steep Amsterdam style. While the bathroom was private, it was located next to our room, requiring us to leave with a separate key to access it. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was easy to find right in the heart of the red light district, I arrived late but check-in was smooth and hassle free. The guy working the bar seemed friendly and helpful and the room I was given met my expectations based off what I had seen on this site My room had everything I needed and I especially liked having a fridge and coffee machine. The location was one of the best aspects as not only are you right in the middle of the red light district but it is only a short walk to the main train station and Dam Square.

The main things I didn't like about the hotel were more to do with the building itself and not so much the business. My room was at the front of the building and at night, you could hear all the noise from the street outside and with it being busy until the early hours of the morning, it was hard to get to sleep on the first night, after that I got used to it. The bathroom was across the hallway meaning you had to leave the room to get to it. Finally, the stairs were a little smaller/steeper than I'm used to. All these issues I was aware of before booking due to reading the reviews so I had a fairly good idea what to expect and it was not a major issue for me, I only mention it so people know what to expect.

Nunu and Martin were incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist. The hotel is centrally located, just a 10-minute walk from the train station, though it's right in the Red Light District, which might not suit those looking for a quieter atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, clean, and equipped with basic amenities. I appreciated the large fridge, coffee machine and kettle.

The staircase is quite steep, which isn't ideal if you have mobility issues or are carrying heavy bags (as we were). This should be highlighted as some guests might struggle. I also traveled with my dog and was charged EUR 12.50 per night, not a big deal but this wasn't mentioned anywhere in the booking confirmation or messages. Lastly, the curtains in our room were too short and didn’t close properly, letting in light, which affected sleep quality a bit. Fixing this would make a big difference.

The hotel has a homey atmosphere as all their staff are approachable and easy to talk to, especially Martin and Nuno. The property has authentic, old vibe which is really great for people who want to feel more belonged to the culture. It is near the great locations and walking distance to all the food and fun places. A bottle of beer in their bar perfectly ends the day.

Stairs are steep, but is usual, and it adds up to the fun experience.

Overall, it's normal.

The hotel is in a very-very busy area, especially at night. There are prostitutes in the shop windows at every turn (and also in the same building as the hotel). The stairs at the hotel are very steep and uncomfortable. It is very difficult and possibly dangerous to go up and down the stairs, especially with luggage to the third floor. Poor soundproofing with the neighboring room, you can hear everything.

I had A Lovely time at the hotel, and the staff was excellent, especially the female one who watched my dog when I ran an errand.

The mood was a little bit spoiled by the manager on the last day. He came off a little bit insensitive and condescending. He knew I was a solo traveler with my dog, who wasn’t 100% at the time. Yet he talked down to me when he knew I had a lot going on. The female bartender was fantastic, and I couldn’t fault her attitude. I feel the manager could undoubtedly learn a bit from a course in customer etiquette.
