The location was great and the room was (small but) cozy.

The male receptionist at the counter did not even greet me when I arrived at the hotel (in the evening of August 30) and spoke to him. He kind of stared at me. I don't experience this often.

The location was perfect. 4 minutes to the train station and walkable to all restaurants and attractions. The bar downstairs was great and the staff were very helpful.

If we really wanted a double bed we would have had to carry our bags up very steep stairs. However we were given the option of a twin room which had a lift to access it. We opted for the twin room.

This is a nice hotel for the price and central location. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was clean and it had hot water and a nice view.

No real issues. There could have been better temperature controls, but it was not a real issue with the temperatures during our stay.

Great location, close to the station and easily accessible to Amsterdam attractions

No drinks facilities in room, plain decor. But a great stay overall.

I had a room with a canal view, so every day I could enjoy the peaceful scenery and lovely seagull sounds. I slept well there, admired the cutest cat in the bar, contributing to the ambiance of feeling home. At first I wasn’t able to open my cold water tap – the receptionist noted my request and soon after it was fixed. Heating can be regulated, so the warmth was guaranteed for the time of my stay.

- The room was not heated when I arrived, so I needed to wait (and freeze) until it gets warm inside. - I was scared to plug in the hairdryer: it’s in the bathroom and not portable. So right after the shower everything was wet from steam, but I still needed to dry my hair. Luckily, nothing happened to me :D

The best about this stay is definitely the location, 5 minutes from the Train station; 5 minutes from the tram stop and also from the Metro, though I only used tram, which is super-efficient and reasonable priced. Most places of interest in the old City center, within walking distance, including the Red-Light district. Lots of restaurants and food options.

You can hear people walking, talking opening doors outside your room. The noise from the street is basically in your room, my last night there I was awoken by people screaming and laughing at 2 A.M. and couldn't go back to sleep and I had to catch the train at 6AM. While a tiny European hotel room is nothing new to me, I feel that this one was overpriced,

Great location near the main train station and the canal view room was excellent! More of a clean tidy backpacker vibe in an old hotel. Small compact room with everything you need and you could get a kettle for a cup of tea in the AM for a deposit at the bar/reception area. You are in the thick of it here - party central but with earplugs this makes for a good oasis!

No kettle or cups in the room was a minor issue, and otherwise fine. No parking even for a bicycle as you are in the old town…

This is a perfect place to stay for a short trip when visiting Amsterdam. The hotel is located in the very center, just a few minutes' walk from the central station. The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was basic but clean, and all the necessary amenities were available. If you are traveling with a backpack and a few belongings, the steep steps to reach the room are not a problem. If you need a place just for spending the night while enjoying Amsterdam during the day and do not look for extra amenities, this is a good option. Additionally, it is a good choice for the price.

Just be aware that the sound isolation is not very good. There is a bar on the ground floor, and it can get noisy in the evening as well as when other guests return to their rooms. Earplugs are a must if you are a light sleeper.

Great location for downtown Amsterdam and a 5 min walk from the Central Station. Friendly staff. Convivial bar. Double bed was comfortable (I slept quite well) and power shower was good. Rooms cleaned every day. Towels provided. Lift to use. Buffet breakfast was good value compared to nearby cafes.

It’s a no frills hotel so don’t expect extras like toiletries (apart from hand wash) or a chest of drawers. Rooms are small particularly if there are two of you. TV is basic but you’re not here to watch TV. It can be noisy so try and get a room at the back (I was in the main building). It’s pricey for what you get but cheap for central Amsterdam.

Good location and very friendly / helpful staff. Accommodated the 5 of us well and it was clean.

We were on the first floor and it was really loud - not so much the street outside which was reasonably noisy but what was worse was the other guests stomping around their rooms and up and down the stairs really loudly. I understand there is not much to be done about this due to the set out of the building but it made for a really bad sleep… woken at midnight, 2am and then at 5am - it was rough.
