The decor of the room and staff were really friendly

The fact it’s above a bar we didn’t know that so it’s a bit noisy and walking in at night can be at bit intimidating all the drunk people by the door. The stairs are so steep but that’s to be expected in Amsterdam. We had a big air con unit which was really loud right outside our bedroom window, which was held open with a plank of wood. There’s not really anywhere to put clothes only a few hangers and the side. The bed is two mattresses put together so not comfy.

I could not recommend The Bolster enough. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, the staff even went above and beyond to make the stay extra special for my Mam who was celebrating her 60th birthday. The room was clean with comfortable beds. It had air conditioning, coffee machine, and a spacious bathroom. We were even provided with snacks and a stocked mini fridge. The location was fantastic, plenty of bars and restaurants on the hotels doorstep and only a 10 minute walk to Dam square. The receptionist was absolutely exceptional, no request was an issue! I will 100% be staying in The Bolster if I ever return to Amsterdam.

Great location, within an easy walk of most of the old town and surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants if you want to get something to eat nearby. The room was nicely decorated and felt cosy and welcoming. Check in and out was very quick and staff were friendly.

The room could have been cleaner. Be aware that staff are not always present at the hotel, but there is a phone number to reach them if needed. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The bars below can be noisy but the real issue is that you can hear everything going on in the hotel landing.

Lovely hotel in a great area - the majority of activities that Amsterdam has to offer are within walking distance and the hotel is close to tram lines and trains. The staff at The Bolster are amazing!! We checked out today, Sunday 17th November, and ran into a problem that had nothing to do with the hotel whatsoever - yet the lovely girl on reception went out of her way to help us and stayed with us until we were sorted. Exceptional service!! If the girl is reading this - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! xx

The location was very convenient and close to The Red Light District, approximately 15 minute walk.

The room did not provide wash cloths, and I wasn't informed prior to our arrival and had to use one of my socks to bathe. There were two hand towels, but of course, we used one for a dry towel, and my husband used the other one to wash. I was able to speak with the host regarding the wash cloths and she explained in a very professional manner why the hotel does not provide wash cloths. I absolutely loved the convenience and would definitely recommend 👌🏽. Thank you for a great stay.

The Bolster is right in the centre of activity on Rembrandtsquare. It felt quite a safe place. Close to many sites and walked almost everywhere. One has to keep an open mind that since this place is bang in the middle of activity, one can hear street noise which for us wasn't really an issue as we were out and about till late. Also, as with many Dutch houses, it has tight stairs, which again for us wasn't a big deal and was made aware of them.

Daily cleaning was a bit erratic but since we only stayed a few nights, it wasn't a big deal.

The facilities and property was excellent. Comfy bed which was a great size. Everywhere was clean. The staff were so lovely and the lady even gave us ideas of things to do whilst we were there. Very helpful and chatty. Location is really good and central with lots of restaurant choices on the doorstep

The property is noisy at night as there’s many bars and restaurants around. However it didn’t bother us at all and we never struggled to sleep

The staff was friendly and the interior design was really beautiful. At the last day we had the opportunity to store our luggage till the evening

The stairs were really steep and the room wasn‘t completely clean. The hotel ist directly above a bar, so keep in mind that you can hear music and people at night.

Super convenient that they had a room set up for 3, it's usually hard to find one! The location was quite central and touristy but easy to access good museums and sites. The street is loud indeed but the triple room being on the 4th floor really saved us from any noise. In addition, the blackout covers for the windows and insolation meant we slept like babies! Overall a good value for the price!

Nothing in particular, staircase is indeed super narrow and uncomfortable to climb with things and the bar downstairs is always crowded and loud but nothing that seriously disturbed our stay.

amazing location, and amazing decor, but more importantly amazing receptionist (shoutout to Sorina) thank you for being amazing! would love to stay again once were back again on our work trip if budget allows 😂. the property was in the process of refurbishment when we stayed, but it was amazing, a true boutique hotel with amazing hospitality and customer service.

the ground floor level is a pub, and the reception was in the first floor. although we wanted a night life, it was a bit much getting back having to go through a crowd of people to access the door to the hotel, which was to the side of the entrance of the pub! beware those whose bringing heavy sets of luggage expecting a lift or reception on the ground level!
