Excellent hotel, Excellent location, staff was helpful and friendly, recommend the breakfast there as well.

Dining options in the area are sparse. Few good restaurants are available, but you need to plan ahead and make reservations.

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was very warm weather, so we were very grateful that the room was air conditioned.

We knew to expect a very small room (and it was). Even though there was an elevator, there were some very steep stairs to navigate to get to the room from the elevator. Navigating they with luggage was a challenge.

Personal good service and location

I was in the Attic room 517. The air quality in the room is not up to standard. With the humidity and water on the walls there must be mold in the room and you can smell that

The decor is lovely, the location was handy and the canal view from the room was a highlight of our stay.

Due to the building being old it was quite noisy and you can hear people walking above and in the next rooms. For the room price a coffee machine would have been good, you could make coffee in the lobby but had to pay for it.

Staff were soooo friendly and helpful - Glenn, Gabriela, Manuel, Dirk, Hans, Pietr and by chance we met the Owner and manager - a lovely woman whose parents formerly owned the hotel, so warm and welcoming. The staff was too nice and assisted with directions, taxis, dinner suggestions, looking things up on the web for us, etc. etc. Breakfast was convenient, simple, all you needed and a great expresso coffee machine! More vegan options (plant based milk and cheese would have made it all perfect).

A bit lower price?

Loved the coziness of the hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Its location is superb, so close to many awesome shops, cafes and restaurants.

The room was a bit tight.

The proximity to the Anne Frank house and a canal.

The breakfast buffet was adequate. Nothing fancy more like a continental breakfast.

The location is perfect if you want to experience traditional Amsterdam alongside the beautiful canals and stunning architecture. Be aware that these houses are tall and narrow and bedrooms are constructed accordingly so space can seem tighter than you may expect in modern houses/hotels. That said, The Times has made the most of every available area and created something unique and special. The Herengracht is within easy reach of just about everything from the best museums, nightlife, restaurants, bars and, unlike many areas, it’s quiet at night so you can sleep. Many areas attract late night revellers. This one is thankfully free of that. The staff are exceptional, helpful, great fun and made us all feel very welcome. We will return.

Location: Great location in the heart of the city directly by one of the canals. The hotel is situated in one of the more quiet streets. The location allows to easily access the city Center and restaurants within a few minutes of walking. Hotel facilities: Well equipped hotel with a little lounge in the entrance area. Due to its size the Lounge is more of a waiting area than a space to hang out. Atmosphere: Calm and friendly atmosphere. Rooms: Clean rooms and modern, more spacious than you would expect based on the size of the house. Comfortable bed. Service: Very nice and helpful staff. Value for money: Considered the prices in Amsterdam definitely a good deal.

Be aware of limited wheelchair accessibility! Comfort of pillows could be improved. When it comes to the breakfast there is room for improval. Standard selection of bread an cuttings, and Joghurt with muesli. Nothing special. A Cafe in town may offer a better experience at a lower price.

The location of the hotel is central to everything in Amsterdam. Surprisingly the bathroom was a great size as the room was tiny. The bed was really comfortable and a lovely view of the canal. Having air conditioning was great.

The room is really small and hard to walk around the bed. Plus as we were on the fifth floor, the elevator stops at the 4th floor and we had a small staircase to get up which was a bit hard with suitcases. The towels are average and with the price you pay for the hotel they should have better quality.
