Location was beautiful and service was great. Josh’s kayaking tour was fantastic. Love the walks from the lodge. Nothing was any trouble for the staff.

The dining room and sitting areas in the main lodge were freezing. The first night we were there none of the fires were lit and most guests were wearing big coats at dinner. The second night I’ve fire was lit but that only benefitted the lucky few who were able to sit near it. The same for breakfast.

We loved our 2 night stay at Awaroa Lodge. It's a special place in a gorgeous location. For a hotel remotely located in the middle of a national park, the team there is doing an outstanding job. Our room was spacious, with a very nice seating area. Much more contemporary and updated than I was expecting. The food was consistently excellent at all meals (way, way better than you might expect in this kind of location). The guests were a fun bunch - we met and had interesting conversations with many. But best of all was the incredible hiking you can do from there up and down the coast. (we used a water taxi and the Seashuttle for dropoffs).

nothing comes to mind

Communal indoor and outdoor areas are really good, with a good range of board games available to use. Our room had a raised sleeping area and a nice lower section with a sofa. Spacious. Shower was well equipped with lots of hot water. Spectacular location, and being met off the water taxi is really cool!

Food was on the premium end of pricing, and the furniture on our terrace could have done with replacing as the chairs were slightly broken.

We LOVED the location, proximity to trails and beach, the bed and pillows were divine, dark and quiet room allowed us to sleep well, surprisingly-delicious meal options, excellent friendly service personnel, peace and serenity!

A few more menu options might have been nice as well as a longer opening for the guest common area.

Amazing location and good atmosphere.

The food, although very good, was very expensive. Once you are at the lodge, you are a captive audience, with no other place to eat or drink so obliged to spend an awful lot. Also, there was no hot water one morning due to the gas being changed over. No warning this might happen and little apology given for the cold showers we had as a result.

The location and the restaurant staff were great. Room could have been more comfy and view could have been better. Otherwise overall was fine.

The shower flooding into the whole bathroom

The lovely, peaceful location with all the luxury you could need, especially when the weather let you down. Staff were fantastic and extremely helpful and despite the conditions, Josh's kayaks experience was memorable. Many thanks.

Beautiful setting, clean, peaceful room. Unfortunately we were soaked as it rained for the entire day hiking so we were very glad to have somewhere nice to stay to warm up & dry everything for the next day.

Was quite expensive, and cost of room didn’t cover breakfast.

The location! The kids enjoyed the kayaking. The water taxi trips were a great way to arrive and enjoy the scenery.

Limited dinner choices. The wet rooms in the accommodation didn't work very well when there are 5 of you sharing a bathroom.
