The owner kelly very pretty and outside and inside all beautiful, friendly and polite and very helpful , the staff who worked in kitchen very inspired with cheerful and very kind with compassion to people , and others all friendly and say hi to you , the room tidy very much and the bathroom very clean the garden how big and the green land amazing , plenty car parking and everyone long term people very friendly kind and show smile from heart , all the local kiwi people experience precious , and I suggestion you not listen any negativity from others comments Bec your need try it to observe , your can’t find any place like this place such gem hidden and your can’t find any nice people like here , and the old lady who lived here long term encourage me and come sit down beside me she saw I was along and cheers me up : you need people around you turn you up not let you down . ❤️‍🩹 Thank you happy apple backpacker , this amazing place really good

Lovely stay, great atmosphere and the kindest people running this place! We forgot a pair of hiking shoes in our room and Happy Apple helped us shipping a parcel to our next stay! Golden Star in customer service!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was a clean and tidy place. The facilities and staff were great! My family and I wished we had been able to stay at least another night.

If there were fans in the rooms that might have made our stay more comfortable as it was a very humid evening.

the backpackers was family friendly with a child’s playground, trampoline, pool table and many board games. Well equipped kitchen, BBQ area and beds are comfy. Bathrooms are new and clean. A quirky stay in a prime location. The receptionist was taking care of the property while her daughter was away and made sure we felt comfortable and safe and even offered us an extra bike lock while we were staying.

Showing my age here, but if you have people who want to talk alit and late into the night, could they please do it up in the kitchen lounge area, as I do value my rest Bed was a raid on the uncomfortable side (could just be my age)

Great location close to the stadium. All facilities spotless.

More no smoking signs? Someone was burning or smoking something in the room each evening and the smell was very annoying. The smell was already there when I'd come to sleep so don't know what exactly it was. It would go by morning though so at least ventilation is good.

Good Prices for the service, clean and excellent wifi.

Problem with the room because another people told us that they have booked. Staff did not answer the phone after 7 p.m. (It was in New Year Eve).

Everything was well laid out and wonderfully clean

Little kids running up and down the hallway screaming and laughing, not that I don’t like happy kids, but it was very difficult to get to sleep.

I am not used to staying at a backpackers but this exceeded my expectations.Staff were really friendly like having a small community.Problem was people themselves not cleaning up.We always clean up before and after using kitchen, gas cooking stoves available which made it so much easier.Facilities are being cleaned daily.We opted to have our rooms not cleaned as we only were there to sleep.They have laundry service too..needs 2 dollar coins x 2 for washing nd another for the dryer.Also can hang outside if needed.We rush with showering as only 8 mins but we never ran out of water .My kids were not used to sharibg toilets but it was a fun and meaningful experience for them.A few mins to kaiteriteri and also great location for golden bay and nelson trip.We had a great time.

Cannot complain with price paid and lovely staff.Met someone who also came from our hometown =)

Booking said room with a garden view... there was none. Would have been nice if there were TV's in all rooms not just a couple
