Fantastic!! Pleasantly Suprised !! My recent stay at Mohua was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I stepped in, I knew it was going to be a memorable experience. The hotel staff, including the receptionist, were incredibly warm and accommodating. I felt well looked after! The location is superb, offering convenience and charm in equal measure. One of the highlights was the fully stocked kitchen, which made meal prep a breeze. The spacious rooms provided ample comfort, ensuring a restful stay throughout. I must say, the value for money here is truly marvelous. Overall, I highly recommend Mohua Motels to anyone seeking a top-notch hotel experience. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable! I'll definitely be returning in the future

Lovely fresh room, light and airy, extremely clean and comfortable. Large clean bathroom. Everything looked new and sparkly clean! Everything from the bed linen and towels to pots in the kitchen was new and of high quality. Lovely owners!. We had a fantastic stay with our young family. The motel is a short walk to the main town centre in Takaka. It's a hippie town with lots of nice cafes and a great play area for kids (0-10 years) and a DOC office.

Bed was super comfortable

The cupboards on the wall in the kitchen are badly placed. When you stand up from bending down to put food in fridge,the cupboard is right above. Head connected w cupboard several times. Not sure where else you could put cupboards with that layout of small kitchen

A lovely comfortable and spacious room, with lovely views. The room and bathroom was very clean with lovely toiletries. The kitchenette had all the facilities that we needed. Very central to Takaka, only a few minutes walk. A great base to explore the bay. Laundry facilities a bonus and there was a bbq area that looked great. Hosts were very friendly.

Everything was more than satisfactory.

Early in December I had an unfortunate injury so I had to unexpectantly defer my stay at Mohua Motel and rather than forfeiting my night's stay, the property very kindly let me defer it to the New Year without charge. I was extremely grateful for that and as I was travelling for work, I came down again to stay. The room was perfect for my needs, comfy, clean and quiet. The front reception staff were friendly and I felt very welcome. The property is directly opposite the supermarket in Takaka so that was handy as I was traveling on my own for business.

Nothing much really. The bathrooms are a bit dated, but they were still very clean and very functional - I don't really have much to improve on. Thanks again.

Location, facility,

We booked for 2 rooms as we were group of 4. But 2 rooms were not next to each other which caused us lot of inconvenience but we managed. The other room was on ground floor and other was on 1st floor on opposite side of the property. We did ask but all rooms were full.

Exceptionally well run motel. The lovely owner/operators just couldn’t do enough for us! The room was spacious and comfortable, and very well appointed. One of the cleanest places we have ever stayed.

No complaints, it was perfect

We were so lucky to get a night here on our travels. The lovely lady at reception greeted us so warmly and checking in and out was fast and easy. The room was very well equipped with a little kitchen that had everything needed to do some cooking, the bedroom/ living area and bathroom were very spacious and spotlessly clean and there was a nice little outdoor table to sit at. We loved being able to use the laundry facilities during our travels. Would highly recommend!

The place is spotless, the couple running it are incredibly helpful and friendly, the location brilliant for Takaka itself and the area beyond. Good to be able to cook a couple of meals in the kitchen area too.

This Motel ticked all the boxes. From views to comfort and very good value for money. Very well equipped for all our needs. From kitchen to ash tray to the sky channels. Clean and comfortable.
