Marchmont Gardens is an almost utopian place for any couple visiting for a few days. The King room comfortably accommodates a dining table for 4, couch , TV table plus about 60 videos and occasional chair. The large double bed was bedecked with a regal bedspread with matching pillows . The spacious bathroom was adorned with modern fittings, heater on the wall and under floor tile heating. The quality of furnishings is akin to that found in superior hotels. The cake slices plus bowl of fruit and chocolates on the bedside tables was a nice touch. One can sit on patio chairs and admire the rock garden while hearing the tinkling of a fountain as water cascades into the fish pond. The garden is surrounded by bushes with a cherry tree in the center providing shade.Majestic mountains in the distance crown it all. The small town boasts a range of restaurants that will satisfy most palets . It also has a laundry with a website. Reviews are laudable. Google it

The room was really spacious, comfortable and private. There were thoughtful touches such as chocolates by the beside, slices as another treat, ground coffee for the plunger and beach towels for the hot pools. The outlook onto the beautiful garden was also a bonus!

Being in a peaceful location away from the main town centre did mean that we needed to drive at night to get to a restaurant. This wasn't a huge issue, just something to bear in mind.

Great quiet peaceful location. Modern, very clean, comfortable unit, loved the black and red. Good range of DVDs to watch. Nice big bed that I actually slept through the whole night in (I don't usually when I'm away from home, so was very suprised) Beautiful gardens. Fitting unit name as we were in Hanmer to walk up Mount Isobel. Hostess Jan was lovely and friendly. Hubby loved the baking. By far my favourite place I've ever stayed and felt so relaxed at. I recommend everyone stay at Marchmont Gardens

Loved both the interior and exterior. Interior had lots of little thoughtful extras. Fresh fruit, fruitcake, bathroom treats shampoo, conditioner, handcream. Beautiful furnishings spacious room. Gardens were beautiful. Will definitely be returning.

Not really anything I didn't like. Would have been a bonus to have had cooking facilities oven, stove top. Proximity to town. But I knew this before booking so wasn't an issue for me but to someone else might be.

What a delightful quiet oasis we found. A gorgeous garden to enjoy and really comfortable accommodation.... but it was the personal touches that were the icing on the cake...a delicious chocolate slice in the fridge, a fruit bowl, chocolates, games and DVDs. Thank you so much. We should have stayed longer... next time!

We had a car but it would have otherwise but quite a walk into town - no problem for us. Room and gardens were amazing Small kitchen. Bathroom with nice touches. Towels provided to take to the pools in addition to showring towels. Would strongly recommend for anyone with a car. They allowed us to park not only our car but also the trailer we had with us. The gentleman was really friendly and helpful.

I cannot fault the place. Would not suggest without a car.

Spacious clean unit in a beautiful garden setting. Warm and friendly hosts. We arrived on a freezing night with snow lightly falling to find heating in room and underfloor bathroom heating on. Also fresh fruit n cakes … highly recommend! Loved our two nights here.

Attention to detail, lovely fresh fruit, had everything you would need for a short stay, freshly ground coffee. Jan was lovely and very helpful, gardens were a delight, beautiful scenery, quiet & safe.

The warm welcome and generous touches a little something in the fridge some fruit and the most glorious garden in which you are welcome to explore. Peaceful serene and perfect.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Jan (the owner) who showed us our accommodation. The heating had already been switched on, so lovely & warm, very clean, very spacious & comfortable. Also we liked the accommodation because it was private & we looked out over the lovely garden. We would highly recommend this property to stay at.
