Braemar Lodge is a good place to stay for a mini honeymoon type vacation. Don't miss out on adding the breakfast, it is good value for money as it has lots of real fresh food like eggs bacon, mushrooms beans and potatoes plus salads and cereals. The spa bath and pool are a must as you can enjoy the view both in cold and warm days. Bed is so comfy, everything is clean and well organized. Room is being serviced everyday. And the location is just 15mins away from main Hanmer Springs. The view is amazing. Look at my attached photo.

We we're planning to book a massage in our room but it wasn't available at that time but it was understandable. The road to the lodge is rocky but its not really the lodge's fault.

The room was huge it had so much space and was quiet, we couldn't hear other guests, etc. Large comfortable bed Heat pump and gas fire for warmth The spa bath was excellent. The Epsom salt lavender pouch was a lovely touch Double shower with excellent water pressure Beautiful views Convenient parking

The outside spa was outdated, only had jets working on one side, half the buttons were broken, was luke warm, and wouldn't heat up. Wasn't worth paying extra for. There were cigarette butts all through the garden in front of our room. Marble floors are very slippery when wet and don't dry fast. Larger bath mats would be good. Not suitable for young kids The narrow road up had potholes that needed filling

Lovely big warm room with indoor and outdoor spa. Lovely ambiance. TV has all the channels. Shower and bathroom great. Comfortable large bed with dressing gowns etc. Breakfast very good and staff friendly and accommodating. Clean and tidy. All facilities of a high spec.

A couple of minor things in room faulty, one fixed when we were there. grounds could be a bit tidier. We had dinner and the meat and seasonal vegies were very nice but an improvement would be to increase the offerrings of vegetables which would leave guests more satisfied and this would cost them very little. It just fell a little short there. But overall it was an excellent facility

It seemed to need a bit of maintenance I.e the tap on the spa bath needed reattached and fresh coat of paint near spa pool outside but in general really good.

More to do with the food I had being cold or lukewarm warm, the eggs at breakfast and my potato’s I had with my herb chicken. This needs to be worked on and not up to my expectations for the price I paid. I was very disappointed that the buffet breakfast had changed to no buffet hot food. I couldn’t get hold of the restaurant on the second night to order room service and had to resort to ringing the after hours number to get someone to get hold of the kitchen. Hence then needing to wait a long period of time to get my dinner rather than the desired time I wanted.

The size of the room was amazing , the bed was super warm and comfterble and the staff were so lovely. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful. Location as great far enough away for peace yet not to far to travel for attractions and shops ect

The shower pressure was average to say the least , we decided not to use the outdoor spa (the reason we booked the braemar) as the water smelt un sanitary with an awful odor , im unsure how often the water gets changed due to this, We were actually here to asses weither it would be an adequate location for an event later in the year ,

The suites are very large and really comfortable with everything you could need. The bathrooms are fabulous and include a spa bath, which we didn't use. c.7km out of Hanmer Springs you are a bit 'captive' for dinner but great location if you want to relax and explore the area. Dinner was good and not too pricey - we had the lamb shank and parmesan encrusted salmon. The hotel was quiet when we stayed so there were not many staff members evident. We only stayed one night so didn't make use of the spa etc.

Would have liked more choice re breads and pastries at breakfast. Billed as a continental breakfast, cooked options were offered - confusing! Considering the standard I would have expected larger towels.

Loved the size of room and the bed. The giant spa bath inside was really good. Also enjoyed the buffet breakfast, good selection of cereal, yoghurt and pastries. The view was beautiful and watching the sunrise from the hot tub was beautiful. Nice to feel away from any main roads. Good to have spare towels in hallway if needed.

Unfortunately I felt let down by a few things. We had to wait over an hour to check in, the reception guy was very apologetic but all were were offered was a late check out but that didn't suit - would have been better to offer a discount on dinner. It also felt like a few touches were forgotten - no slippers as promised. My husband said the sausages and hash browns were cold for the breakfast. Also very hard to work out spa bath controls as the panel seemed a little broken. Also shower leaked especially when the dual shower heads were on all over the floor.

Staying at the Braemar is always a pleasure. The location is quiet and away from any busy roads. The view is stunning and the room with the gas fire is luxurious. The cookies in the room were a nice touch and the breakfast was good.

Being in the depths of winter and with large windows, the dining room tends to be quite chilly. Unfortunately the evening meal in the restaurant was overpriced for the quality.

Beautiful rooms with great facilities. Extremely comfortable beds and tonnes of space!

The restaurant was an absolute rip off. I do not recommend eating dinner at the hotel. It took 2 hours for us to receive our meals after ordering. And the food was absolutely terrible for the amount charged! It was the standard of food you'd expect from a canteen and I'm pretty sure it all came out of a packet! They had also run out of lots of stuff on the menu. I ordered chicken with potatoes and veg. I was served chicken on top of risotto with ratatouille! So random and tasteless!! The staff also did not tend to the table at all (despite there only being 3 other tables occupied). My glass of wine sat empty after drinking it and the waitors did not once ask if we'd like anything else. Such a shame because the rest of the hotel was fab!

Food was superb, especially the steak and lamb. Nothing was too much for staff to ensure we were more than ok. Really got on we'll with the team and the views were awesome 👍 The high ceilings were another aspect we liked in our room as it opened up more of the mountain views.

I guess the gravel road leading up to Braemer lodge, but once there it was more than ok. The service and food was a good compromise.
