We received an extremely warm welcome from our host, who took the time to go through the local map and give us some recommendations. She checked on us throughout our visit to make sure everything was okay. There was a delicious breakfast ready from early in the morning which was amazing on the day that we did our whale watching. There was a choice of fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, bread and many different spreads to choose from. The location was approximately a 20 minute walk into the main town.

The room was a little noisy from the people above. We could hear floorboards creaking and people walking about above us.

The patio area adjoining our room has the most amazing views into the mountains in the distance, as well as calming green pastures next to the property. Just the view itself made us delay our morning check out a bit to enjoy an extra cup of tea on the patio. Our host is super friendly and gave us good tips on restaurants and to dos in the area. And its more like talking to a friend than a host of a stay.

The room was nice, breakfast yummy and the host was very helpful - as I was travelling with my little one on public transport and the B&B is not in the city centre, she offered to pick us up and dropped us off a couple of times during our extended stay. Very helpful!!! We had a lovely stay!

There is nothing I can think of to say here... even though our whale watching had to be postponed twice due to wind conditions, we were even able to extend our stay and stay in our room!

Cozy bedroom, private bathroom, has a living area with TV and kitchenette but only old movies were available (free on demand). Huge backyard, laundry services and clothesline available for use. My favourite has to be the lovely resident pets. So so so adorable! It is near to many restaurants and is easy to find. Private and quiet environment.

Wifi is patchy

Even though we arrived quite late Judy gave us such a great welcome and provided us with lots of recommendations! The cottage was huge, very well equipped, there was nothing we missed. Even after our return back home Judy supported me fantastically when I asked her for help in a matter which I had missed during our stay.

some leftover things from previous guests (oil/spices etc.) were already quite old, might be good to remove them

Everything was perfect! The room was clean and confortable. We have access to a nicely furnished kitchen to prep meals and the breakfast is composed off fresh fruit every morning. Judy is a great hostess even accommodated us for our breakfast at 6.30am so that we could have our stomach full before going whale watching. Highly recommend!

We were welcomed by the owner Judy who provided helpful hints on the area. Our first floor level room was comfortable and had a balcony with table and chairs with great views across the countryside and towards the mountains. Breakfast was varied and offered on a serve yourself basis. The property had ample off-street parking.

the surrounding n nature.. the mountains n fields.. the stream river behind with ducks swimming.. so peaceful quiet relax.. n the poodle dog friendly happy obedient doggy. the owner Judy is so approachable n kind to go extra mile for us despite being an elderly..we are very appreciate for her service. we are family of 5 pax..

A marvellous place to stay. Great views of snowy mountains and green fields from lovely flower filled balcony outside rooms. Very nice welcome from host Judy. Excellent breakfast. Quiet location, just off main road, easy access.

Very little to comment on. Probably stairs up to room and kitchen a bit tricky for older people.

Clean and tidy room with compact en suite bathroom, sitting room and kitchenette (microwave, ceramic hob). Very comfortable bed, with attractive linen. The room opened on to a nice garden with space for our dog to run about in. Judy was friendly and helpful, with excellent local knowledge; as we arrived at about 7.30pm she was able to suggest where we could go to find something to eat (and advised about early closing times at many local venues). She’s located close to the supermarket and several takeaway places. Judy’s breakfast was really excellent and beautifully presented: a very large bowl of delicious home made fresh fruit salad, a good range of cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee, and toast with a selection of jams in pretty containers. Guests breakfasted together with the host and there were interesting conversations among us all from around NZ and other parts of the world. Very nice views of the seaward Kaikouras and a nice sunny dining room.
