Super clean, with a well equipped kitchenette and comfortable beds. Everything was well thought out, maintained neat as a pin and in good working order. Nice to have access to the shared garden area. Very convenient and quiet location in Picton, not far from the town centre. Perfect place to stay before starting out on the Queen Charlotte track and on return for a comfortable night's sleep.

Very happy with the place for what we needed. The place was not modern - no issue for us as everything was well maintained and felt homely.

Whilst this is an older motel it was well maintained and had the bonus of a full kitchen. It was in a great location just a few minutes walk to downtown. The hosts were very friendly and even went the extra mile to rescue our washing from the line when it rained. It was also very handy to the ferry terminal. The unit we had was very spacious and had a nice outdoor seating area. Parking was at the door. Would definitely stay here again.

The AAA Marlin was perfect for us. We wanted to stay close to the ferry so we wouldn't have to rush the next day before boarding Picton to Wellington. We cycled into town next morning to have breakfast and did a little cycle tour of Picton. The owners were happy for us to leave our car parked on the premises once we checked out so we could cycle around and explore Picton for a few hours we had free. Our unit was very CLEAN:-)

Late check in, met by friendly staff, given a great room, plenty of space. The Air Con was a bonus, worked well to cool us down. Spotlessly clean unit although it was older style. Excellent parking, covered entrance way to each unit & outdoor table & chairs for each unit as well as back courtyard area. Full kitchen with pans & utensils, just great. It's also handy to town too, either walk or short drive.

Happy as with our stay here, there was nothing we didn't like.

Of course the big plus is the proximity to the ferry. We arrived very late and our booking didn’t pass the booking.com credit card process yet the manager stayed up until 9:30pm to deal with us - no idea what we would have done without the room that night as we had a toddler with us. Absolutely grateful. Loved the room too - clean, had everything and a great stong coffee (not just the powered thing!) for an early rise to the ferry.

We spent two nights at the motel, separated by an overnight on the Queen Charlotte Track. Lisa was super at the reception desk. Very obliging. She allowed us to leave our main luggage there when we walked the track and everything was ready for us on our return. Lisa was also very helpful when we needed to get our laundry sorted. A nice place to stay. There were plenty of people staying there on both nights but it was very quiet and we all slept well!

The motel offered the 2-bedroom solution we need with the twin bed / queen bed combination for families. Having two bedrooms allows the kitchen/ diner lounge to be much more useful Great quality linen and towels was an unexpected bonus.

The motel is of its era and this did not come across in the photo's on line. Single glazing could make it cold in the winter months. Maintaining the COVID non servicing approach does slightly detract from the stay adding to visitors need to be organized for changes of towels and rubbish collection - minor issue but at the price is worthy of note.

Whilst older than most motels, our room was in top condition. The room was very large with seperate bedding areas. The beds were superb and the bedding sheets and covers were luxurious. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They were very friendly and available for a chat. Altogether a memorable experience.

The shower water pressure was a bit low.

The location is certainly top-notch, also the price and the ease of parking right outside the units. I noticed a number of truckies also using this motel which speaks for its convenience. The unit was very clean and there was a table outside if one wanted to be social with the neighbors perhaps. Very friendly check-in service as well with milk offered for the morning coffee.

It was slightly dated but not in a bad way, just dated. But that is reflected in the price and perhaps if it was more modern it would not be this good value for money.

- Quite a pleasant stay. We arrived by ferry from Wellington and wanted to rest before going further to Christchurc - The property is really close to any POI in Picton - A parking place was available for each house - The facilities were great - We also enjoyed the small garden

- I did not like the shower system, but this seems to be one of the standards in NZ motels
