Having stayed here on the 4/11/24, I was pleasantly reminded of a time when everyone whom greeted you, greeted you the way we were treated. With genuine, sincere, willingness. The rooms are immaculate. The view from the top floor....mesmerizing. The service....unparalleled and unrivaled. This is such a pleasant, relaxing, homely place to stay. Rarely have I felt the need to commend anyone before, but this place is quite literally stunning. I will DEFINITELY be returning to THIS astounding establishment. Peter is without a doubt one of the most helpful, sincere, genuine, typically "Kiwi" hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Well done sir.

Having to leave

The hosts were amazing. The rooms were very clean tidy and had everything you needed for your stay. The rooms were warm and the property was child friendly. The hot pool was amazing and the swimming pool was awesome for the kids. It was my birthday and my husband rang the property and asked them to decorate our room for me as a surprise, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure this was done before we arrived. The hosts are amazing people and very helpful, thank you Peter and wife for your amazing hospitality we will definitely be back again!

Nothing everything was perfect for us

Everything was perfect upon arrival. Im not too sure if we got upgraded cause i booked a 1 bdrm unit but got 2 bdrms. The pool was perfect and the spa was perfect for our winter stay. The baby pool is a bonus as we havnt been to much accomodations with a baby pool. Location is on the main road but its still quiet as if your away from the city hussle. They have every emenities you need to cook, clean relax etc and it was spacious enough for my 14 month old son to still run and play. Will definitly be coming back. One of the cutest locations to date for me and my family. 🫶

A 1 night stay to break up our journey from Wellington to Hamilton. Large 1 bedroom apartment which was very well organised and clean. Two large sofas made for a comfortable relaxing evening. The pool is small but the hot tub (no bubbles) was heated to 38 degrees. Both were enjoyable. The kitchen (no oven) had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The staff were friendly and provided a bottle of milk for a much needed cup of tea

You will need a car to access the local supermarket.

They have cats!!!! Best part of the trip was cuddles with the cat in the afternoon. Location is amazing!! Gorgeous view of the lake from the hot tub. Walk across the road and you’re at the lake. Pool is really great for families and nicely kept. Three different temperatures depending on what pool/tub you get into. Gorgeous gardens. Parking was right outside door. And more parking for guests if needed. Our apartment was perfect. Fantastic size. The bedroom even fit our baby’s portacot. TV has movie channels which was a nice way to relax in the evening. Kitchen had everything you’d need in it while away. Staff are friendly.

The information booklets they give out need updating. They said they offered cold breakfasts or hot breakfasts if you organised it the day before. But when we went to organise they said they didn’t do it anymore which was a shame. Sheets were a little stiff for our liking but bed was clean and mattress and pillows were super comfortable Wifi was patchy.

Such a brillant motel/resort: Hosts are beyond helpful, friendly, understanding. Rooms are spotlessly clean and so very spacious. Pools ( kids, swim, and hot pool) are brillant, so clean and temps in all were perfect. Location can not be faulted - across the road to the lake and to 2-mile bay Sailing Club/ bar, pizza, and with brillant coffee. A 7min walk to Woolworths. Anchorage Resort can not be faulted. Highly recommend.

The anchorage has very clean, spacious rooms, and is quiet with plenty of parking, and lake views. There is beautiful landscaping, with fantastic pool and BBQ facilities. Friendly management and staff.

Very minor detail, however upon our arrival too much air freshener or similar had obviously been used and the fragrance in the room was very overpowering, but once we aired the room out there were no further issues.

The pool view unit was warm, comfortable & very clean. The pool & spa area were great & very well maintained with nice surrounds. I found the room very quiet compared to staying at other places. I couldn't hear any traffic noise at night or any noise from other guests rooms, even the room above.

I thought some sheer curtains in the lounge covering the french doors would have been nice & would of added a bit of privacy. I felt a little exposed when the curtains were open.

My room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Within walking distance of the beach/lake and the sailing club. Friendly and helpful staff who offered lots of local information about places to eat, drink and to visit.

I wanted to have a swim and use the hot tub but it was always full of children. I chose the Anchorage for these facilities but found it difficult to use them which was frustrating. I think they should offer adult only sessions during the day, so both can be accessible by all.

Room was clean and had a heat pump, which was excellent, as temperatures were at freezing levels over night. the staff were very helpful - the owner assisted us in deicing the car in the morning.

Decor is a bit dated. Driving and parking around the property is quite tight. We ended up leaving the car outside on the grass. Not a problem though.
