It was so amazing! On our first day, we were absolutely stunned by how incredible the place was, so we immediately decided to book the best room at this hotel again for our return trip. It was just fantastic! If possible, I would recommend staying here for at least a week—it would be an unforgettable experience. The owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful, sending us information about the best places to eat and things to do in town ahead of time, making it super convenient to plan activities. The most surprising part is the best room is across the lake, offering stunning views. It’s peaceful and so convenient.

The host was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Before we began, when I called to check the booking (and make 3 sets of changes!), our host was extremely helpful and patient. The room was very clean, thoughtfully decorated and smelt delicious on arrival. Lovely light and spacious room, great little kitchen, dining and large bathroom with spa bath. The lovely new air con units gave us a most comfortable stay, along with fabulous block out/ privacy drapes. Easy access to the pools, which was heated just right, and spa, a fab hot tub style with lights for the evening dip. Outdoor seating for all motels. Our room had double doors to open to enjoy the beautiful weather. The motel is literally Lakefront and straight onto the lakeside walkway. The host had also advised of the Two Mile Sailing Club, a fun popular dining spot, which was just a few minutes' walk away and the new supermarket nearby. Our towels were changed daily, our kitchen cleaned and tidied. Our host also made careful provision for our motorbike to be close to our room and tucked away so we felt relaxed throughout our stay. The heated pool was great, the location near to lake and city was good and the service of staff was superb.

The layout of the kitchen was unusual and involved ducking between a hanging cupboard, the wall mounted TV and the bench return. Crockery and cutlery were very limited and the small saucepan lacked a lid. Staff soon found another lid once we asked, which was great. Instructions for the heat pump were in an unusual place (on the side of the TV & heat pump remote box) and we didn't find them until we asked the manager. A book of instructions left on the dining table or bedside table would be more helpful.

The location was great, right by the lake and a stroll from the sailing club and a couple of restaurants. Great facilities - kayaks and bikes for hire, swimming and spa pool, and bbq area. We had a view of part of the lake, great outlook to look at while in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was a great place to stay.

The kitchen was a bit tight with a very awkward cupboard that my husband banged his head on. The furnishings need some upgrading which the motel is in the process of doing so it will only get better. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of tables, cushions, etc so overall a minor negative.

Excellent location, nice clean rooms (that smell nice rather than of cleaning products), friendly staff, lovely outside area with bbq, dog friendly.

I know it’s the holiday season so we’re paying a premium but $500 a night for a pretty basic motel room is pretty rich. Suggest small things to make it better value for money: two ply toilet paper, larger drinking glasses, beach towels maybe? We enjoyed our stay but that price equals much more flashy accom.

The pool and the cleanliness of the room. The staff was amazing and we felt incredibly comfortable. Amazingly quiet considering we had people on both side of us. Love the private patio we could use off the house. Right by the lake was cool too to watch the sunset. Beds very comfortable and loved the upgrade too - best sleep I got on our holiday. Thank you.

Wish we could have stayed longer. There is no lounge per se - but we sat at the dinner table to socialise.

Location was great, close to lake and a short walk to the sailing club. Very clean facilities and comfortable bed, great shower, excellent off street parking space. Good facilities available, had everything you needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Spa bath didn't work and wanted to have a swim...covers were on and I didn't want to bother anyone to take them off, also spa pool had a lock on the gate. These were just really small things, overall a great place.

The staff were incredibly accommodating for all of our needs and went out of their way to help. We initially were poolside but realised the kids might struggle to sleep that close to all the noise - they quickly moved us to another more suitable room with no fuss. All staff were always smiling, pleasant and eager to help. The kiddie pool was a big plus for us parents. Mr. 4 and Ms. 2 could happily swim while parents watched on without having to swim ourselves. The lake is right there - so a trip to the beach is a saunter out of your room. Another plus for parents to tire out the little ones at a moments notice. The BBQ in the patio, with outdoor furniture and umbrella - winner winner steak and sausage dinner!! We loved the mezzanine floor as we could hear the kids in the night. Really enjoyed our stay.

Needs renovation and fix-ups - even just a fresh coat of paint and some caulk would do wonders!!

The location was just amazing, absolutely lake front. We enjoyed early morning dips in the lake every day. We were a short walk to the two mile bay sailing club, and they have the best pizzas. The pool was great too. Not big, but just right for our young family.

The room we were in was a loft type room. The kids slept upstairs in a loft and there were peep holes from their room down to ours. Also, the steps were very very steep and not very wide, they felt slightly unsafe for our three year old. If you have older kids, this would not be a problem at all.

Staff were amazingly friendly the family loft was very very clean I was impressed the floors were squeaky here and there but it didn't bother us the loft was warm and we had air con so if it got too warm we had that handy they also had fans in all the rooms the teenagers loved they could look down at everyone downstairs and even tho you had your own privacy you could still be apart of the conversation without having to walk up and down stairs..the bathroom was awesome shower instant heat mirror nice and big so 2 teenage girls could do their make up at the same time main bedroom was amazing the bed loved it the space loved it more the wardrobe the chair it was all just what we needed on such a busy weekend.

Seating area was a little small for a family of 5 it's sleeps 6 but you all wouldn't fit in sitting are it's more for 3 small people but the dining area table and chairs was huge so we all piled up around that we were in taupo for family unveiling so naturally we had all our family coming to visit so it makes it a bit squishy we made it work😊also my dad came to ask reception for milk because the information booklet says if you need a milk they cost $2 a carton but the lady in office said no night help to take that off the book in the rooms.
