The location is good, the place is amazing generally speaking. Very unique.
We chose a rather expensive room, that showed pictures with wall-to-wall windows and in the first floor, and we ended up in a basement room, with nearly no natural sunlight. We felt a bit deceived, because in the end we didn't get what led us to book this more expensive room.

Great location - an easy 10 minute stroll to the centre of town. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with a balcony and kitchenette, good free wifi, good shower and heating (it was December). The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast area and lounge / reading room are delightful - a chance to relax and to mingle with other guests and the hotel cat. The gardens are beautiful and the pool looked inviting but we didn’t try it.
It’s a small hotel so if you are used to something bigger with its own restaurant and a fully stocked bar this might not be for you. There is a small honesty bar and free tea/ coffee and cake / fruit in the breakfast area all day which suited us well.

Beautiful gardens surrounding the apartments with a nice small pool. The first set of pool towels is free. Great breakfast and homemade cake in the afternoon. Nice room with daily cleaning.
Loud noises from a building site nearby during week days, it pretty much ruined the experience at the pool for me. Cat pee and poop in the hallways on the floor every day. Coffee at breakfast not great.

This was my second day here, and although for budget reasons I booked the same kind of double room which wasn’t really to my liking, we got to stay in a superior double room with a free upgrade. This year‘s room was much nicer, with a normal, private bathroom around the corner from the bed, with a door! Small, but cozy, and had a very sweet tiny balcony with just a bistro table, and two little chairs overlooking the garden. Very comfortable mattress and sheets and pillows, with modern spacious, standing shower. It was not a problem for us to go down and up a somewhat steep, narrow staircase for this room. — no elevator in this part of the hotel. Excellent, friendly, helpful welcome at the reception desk. We were even able to check into our room this afternoon. Complimentary fruit, coffee, and delicious cake were available into the evening. The hotel is in a beautiful former private dwelling with lovely crowds, in an upscale residential neighborhood an easy walk to the waterfront and historic center.
Loved everything about the property, although paid parking on the street could be a problem in season— like mosy of the hotels in CascaisWe were there in early December.

Love the location, close to town while being tucked away in a neighborhood. The rooms back directly to the beautiful foliage and pools, making this feel like an oasis in the heart of Cascais. I had a room with kitchenette, which was quite convenient. The shared living room area is a nice spot to relax with a glass of wine from the honor bar.
The one challenge is the parking. It's always easy to find a parking spot, but you need to either feed the parking meter with coins. It is much easier if you have a Via Verde pass and can refill this with the app.

I found at Casa Vela a silence oasis with an wonderful and charming courtyard. You can find there old and tall trees, 2 pools, mini lakes, benches, a lot of pool chairs, mini waterfalls, water streams and so on. The room was spacious and clean with everything you need including minifridge, cafeteria, kettle, pool towels.

The garden is lovely, great location and a fresh breakfast. We got a room with a panorama window to the garden. I observed a lot of guests becoming peaceful in this nice and calm atmosphere. You can find a space for your own if you need the peacefulness.
The card keys to our room never worked and they did not change the battery to get it to work during our eleven days of staying. We just had one key instead and that sometimes caused us problem with timing since we splitted some day in our family constelation.

We love Cascais and these apartments were in a great location, within an easy walk to the centre and the marina. Our room was v nice but had no outdoor space to it, although it did open up onto the gardens and pool area. Next time we stay, we'll make sure we book a different room with a balcony. The breakfast, which we booked on arrival, was v good value, with plenty of choice. All the staff are friendly and v helpful.
As mentioned, our room didn't have a balcony or patio area outside, which would have made it perfect. Due to its location, this wouldn't have been possible, so we'll make sure we book a different room next time.

Our room was beautifully decorated with palms tree on the wall and a tree mural. A very comfy long sofa to lounge on. The bed was comfortable. Access was easy both to the front door leading to the street and to the garden. We swam every day in the pool. The temp of the pool is cold in April/May but we prefer it that way! It is a lovely pool with a swimming area cut out so one can swim lengths. We did have breakfast there so can’t comment. The bathroom was amazing, large with wonderful bath and shower. Private glassed off area for toilet and bidet. The gardens were lush and green and filled with very relaxing water features.
The pillows were a little uncomfortable. The kitchenette was functional but not easy, there wasn’t much space to prepare food and the hob fan corner was very sharp and one had to be very careful not to bang one’s head on it. The drawers which contained the cutlery etc was low down and the drawers were difficult to pull out. Just a little inconvenient.

New modern room with nice view of skyline. Kitchenette. Hearty breakfast with lots of variety. Beautiful gardens to wander through. Staff very accommodating for special needs of the athletes competing in the race, such as bike storage, early breakfast with special requests. Quiet sitting room common area for reading and meeting other guests. Location a 10-15 minute walk to the town area with many restaurants. Also a 10-minute walk to the coastline trail.
Except for the bouts of rainy weather, there is nothing I can think of that I didn't like. I would definitely stay here again!
