Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff.

For the price and the reviews that we read we were expecting a nicer room. Our room and bathroom were a little tired. There was a room on our floor that was in the process of being remodeled, maybe ours was next?

Nice hotel in a great central location. We received a very warm welcome at check-in. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. The room had a beautiful view of the city.

Room 501 has a weird noise in the wall behind the bed. Lots of ticking. Luckily I had earplugs with me and I was so tired I was only slightly bothered. There was a coffee machine but no kettle in the room, which I missed as we don't drink coffee. As a tip for the hotel's evening restaurant, I would like to pass along that they should dim the lights. Then people will definitely come and sit down.

Central, easy access to anywhere you want to visit in Lisbon. Perfect location. Love love the location. The square outside the door step has a lovely atmosphere. You can just sit and chill outside after your dinner. Live music at the square. Evething feels like within 5-10minutes walk. Room has everything you need. Small but just right. Comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast good basic. Staff are amazing. Cannot thank the lovely staff enough. Thank you so much to Beatriz. She's amazing. Helped us with our train to Porto. She's very welcoming and accomodating.

Something small but not a deal breaker, the shower was great but just the way to turn it on. You can get wet with cold water first and hard to escape it. Nothing major. Im still alive.

The location was excellent, we could choose to walk, take the Metro, tram or bus within minutes of leaving the hotel. The bedrooms were spacious with quality linens, a very comfortable bed and quality toiletries. All the staff were helpful, professional and polite. We took two of our evening meals in the hotel and the standard of service by the staff was exemplary. The food was excellent,in fact my husband commented that he had had the best prawn risotto that he had ever eaten.

The hotel is in a lovely area on a square with many restaurants very nearby. Plenty of fresh produce for breakfast and our dinner was excellent.

The hotel advertises complimentary airport pick up with stays over 3 nights, but it wasn’t available for us either way. The water did not drain properly in the shower, and as a consequence I did not notice that it had leaked into the bathroom and onto the carpet in the room. Reported to reception twice as nothing was done to improve the situation on the first occasion. There appeared to be a plethora of power points, however quite a few did not work, meaning we had to scramble about on the floor to plug in the hairdryer. Would have been happier if the towels were not changed everyday as it seemed wasteful. When we left we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay, merely asked to pay the tourist tax.

Great location in front of the carmo convent with its nice plaza ,places to have a drink or a snack under the trees. Quiet but still in the middle of the old town, steps away from great Restaurants and stores.

Nothing!

This hotel is centrally located, very close to the city centre. Rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is ample and varied. Reception and housekeeping staff are very amenable and go out of their way to make one’s stay enjoyable.

Lisbon is built on 7 hills. This hotel is perched on one of them. Walking down a 35degree incline on cobbled streets is not easy, and if like us you are at an advanced age you should consider factoring in an expense of 4euro for an Uber to return to the hotel every time you go out. If you are assigned a room with a bath, be advised that the bath does not have a tap, only a shower head.

I was extremely happy with the staff, the staff did everything in their power to make our stay an exceptional one . I felt like I was at home and they were family. The room was super clean and the bed was a bed I dream of owning one day as a person with a bad back , the bed was firm with being also comfy and the bedding was so crisp and clean and I just wanted to stay in bed .The cleaning crew of the rooms were so sweet and always made my request at getting more towels no problem , the room also came with a free water bottle everyday which made it super nice . location of the hotel was a dream location , there were shops and even a grocery store within 100 steps to the hotel. The breakfast was the best breakfast I could of ever wished for with many selections of fresh fruit , veggies and meat and eggs and sour dough bread , fresh juices and fresh coffee of your choice , I actually think the breakfast was the best food I ate while in Lisbon .

That I had to leave and go home since my vacation was done.

The total price paid included all bonuses of the location (numerous steps up and down the steep streets to keep fit during vacations, proximity to must-see sights and local atmosphere) and hotel extras (side-view of the Castle from our room 302, fast elevators, water available in the lobby all day, daily cleaning and change of towels etc.) - I am more than satisfied for what we got! The communication and responsiveness of the staff was great, just ask and they will ensure you with a kettle, a nice glass for wine, will open the bottle etc.). I booked early and our flight days were changed, the hotel was elastic and welcoming to modify the booking. The pillows were good, room temperature ok, all toiletteries (conditioner for hair, body lotion) available and replenished. We are fond of walking, but tuk-tuks are often used in the city. Carmo square is a nice place to enjoy a moment of Chiado neighbourhood, also visit Garrett street and its Pastel de Nata shops of Manteigaria and Castro, or Santini ice-cream on rua do Carmo! We had breakfast every morning and it was fully sufficient - with additional hot options by order. I enjoyed plain yougurt and fruit. Welcome set of pastel-de-natas and Ginjinha liqeur perfect to catch the charm of Lisbon and Carmo hotel!

Coffee capsules are limited - 4 only, you can buy more in the Nespresso shop down the street or buy at reception. As we stayed 5 nights and had breakfast every morning, on Monday morning there was some misunderstanding with our hot option order and we were quite upset as we got cold eggs and bad omlette, but the rest of the days everything was perfect! Breakfast cappuccino was not my favourite, I changed to black coffee and asked for warm milk. We did not eat dinner in the hotel restaurant (although the hotel gives a discount coupon) as it lacked the evening charm and its interior (ceiling lamps) needs some upgrade. The hotel offers water in the lobby for everybody, but sometimes they add specific cinnamon sticks; would like to keep more traditional - just with fruit (lemon etc.)

Perfectly situated, ultra quiet, comfy, clean and convivial hotel nestled on a delightful square, and surrounded by truly excellent restaurants (indeed, one of them in in the hotel) and the best shopping in Portugal. The staff are all earnest, helpful and caring. Also, the hotel is but a five minute walk from the metro, a two minute walk to a pedestrian-only boulevard on which stands the oldest, continuously operating bookstore in the world, and is kitty-cornered to the Carmo convent, one of the few surviving relics of the earthquake that levelled the city in 1755. Oh yeah, and a nine-minute cab ride to the cruise terminal, if you’re heading off to sea after, which we were.

Be aware that the place is expensive (we paid approx. $500 Canadian per night for three nights), and that the location, as with all Lisbon, is very hilly. If you want to walk more that ten minutes from the hotel, you’ll be heading steeply downhill (or uphill), which will make it arduous (or effortless) to walk back.
