Breakfast was phenomenal. Even had an egg benedict. The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful gardens surrounding it with awesome views. We got up for sunrise each day and it was special watching it next to the vines. The staff were super helpful and lovely. This was our favourite accommodation in Madeira.

Basically everything. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, the breakfast was extensive and delicious, the views were breathtaking, the outside pool was maybe the most beautiful I've ever swam in, and all the other facilities were great. We stayed in the villa and while it does need a little love, was perfect for our needs. Surrounded by greenery, if it offers privacy and more space than the other rooms.

I think the criticisms of the villa are not entirely accurate but they have some truth. The villa is dark, the staircase is very steep and the door between the two Villas is not sound insulated at all. Apart from that nothing. It was all amazing.

We spent two nights at Quinta do Furão. We booked a premium room and received an upgrade to a spacious suite, which featured living area being separated from the bedroom as well as two balconies with stunning ocean views. We appreciated that the hotel offers a daily activity (like a baking class or yoga) included in the price. We participated in a wine tasting, which was enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was good. We could also choose egg dishes and pancakes & waffles from the menu. We also liked the evening turn-down service including the room cleaning and delicious candies.

- The room showed signs of wear, with marks on the walls and curtains - The spa area is quite outdated - The shower gel dispenser in the bathroom was inconvenient - We were disappointed with dinner at the hotel restaurant. The staff seemed stressed, and the quality and presentation of the food could be improved

The hotel is in wonderful position on a cliff ledge with great views down the coast and towards the mountains. The hotel staff were all very professional and we had a good welcome. Breakfast was splendid, very varied. The breakfast staff were very cheery and looked after us extremely well. The room was well fitted and the bathroom and shower were excellent. We were in the new extension facing the sea. These rooms have a nice feeling but don't get much sun as they are east facing. The restaurant food is excellent but very pricey. Eating in the bar is an alternative and very pleasant. Some dishes were surprisingly large and can be shared.

Insufficient bedding the first night. There should have been more bedding stored in the room. The Welcome Drink is only on a Tuesday when German flights arrive. It was six nights before we had a welcome drink on the eve of our departure! The outdoor pool looks a bit basic.

I came here to escape the fires on the other side of the island, and although not an ideal situation, I am so happy I found the hotel this way. Everything is gorgeous about it. And, can we talk about the fact they can make anything gluten-free for their breakfast? Waffles... Pancakes... Eggs Benedict. The views are incredible, as is the property. I was able to work from there, without any issues. And, I loved how close I was to so many beautiful hikes. The staff was so kind in finding me a room higher up, and a room to stay in longer. I was very happy and grateful at this property. I will definitely be back here.

That I didn't stay longer...

We initially booked a "Superior Twin Room with Sea View" but were unexpectedly upgraded to a Suite at no extra cost. The view from our balconies was amazing, the room was always clean, was nicely furnished and had very modern bathroom. Overall the location and property of the hotel is beautiful (lots of nice flowers and overall nice garden inviting to walks) and staff was always super friendly. Great breakfast buffet with fresh juices, fruit, bread etc. and some warm options available on the buffet while some others are made fresh to order like pancakes, waffles, omelette etc. Lots of opportunities to relax with e.g. indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, billiard/table tennis room. Due to the size of the island, everything is easily within reach by car. We had an amazing time there and would definitely book the hotel again in the future.

The restaurants are good but I would say slightly overpriced and if I recall correctly drinks are more expensive at the hotel bar than at the hotel's pub.

The hotel is amazing and the staff incredibly friendly. I would definitely recommend booking a room there. The breakfast is exceptional, the view stunning and the sauna and pool make relaxation super easy. Much needed between our hikes. We also had a Madeira wine tasting which was incredible!

Was not amazed by the restaurant, the food in Madeira generally set the standards pretty high and the restaurant of the hotel did not keep up.

Although it overlooked the car park (with the vines beyond) the room was very pleasant with a balcony and plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. The breakfasts were extremely good and there were several areas you could eat them in. There was a lovely view from the hotel grounds and plenty of space to walk around. The reception staff were extremely helpful. Packed lunches could be purchased at reception.

Although in a lovely setting the hotel is well out of the village and we needed a car to go to other restaurants or bars.

The stunning views have got to be the selling point for us. The hotel is very cozy, loved the communal fireplaces during our winter stay. Service was great and the hotel offers daily complementary activities for example a Portuguese lesson or poncha (local cocktail) making. A little stroll to the restaurant was romantic, great food options for both meat / fish eaters as well as vegans / vegetarians. Really good wine selection.

Nothing we can think of.

The hotel offers many facilities like 2 pools, 1 small sauna, a good and diverse breakfast (I loved the chocolate roulade from Uau Cacao, waffles, and fresh fruits), a nice bar with very attentive staff, and great rooms. The room was very comfortable, I liked the walk-in shower.

Spotting a cockroach running in the hotel lobby and a bug (hopefully a garden bug) in our room on the teaspoon. I showed the pictures to the reception on the day of departure, which kindly told me that the hotel is in the middle of nature and, hence, expected to have these incidents. However, as far as I know, cockroaches are not outdoor creatures but thrive indoors. Without this issue, it would have been a 10.
