The location was amazing ,close to downtown. Jerome kept the breakfast room so clean and the breakfast choices were great. The ladies at the desk were helpful, courteous and professional.

The building needed to be pressure washed, the windows had spider webs and dirt around them, the vent in the bathroom was full of dust , I was a little leary about walking on the floor without shoes on prior to having the room cleaned. The pot for the coffee maker was missing, the ice maker for that building needs to be fixed and the front entrance would look so much nicer if the weeds were removed and landscape was looked after.

Simple but very cute property in excellent location. The room is also simple (it is a 2-star hotel) and exceptionally clean. Comfortable mattress. Great water pressure in the shower.

The room could use some art on the walls because there is an echo. Also the base of the bed is made from this strange metal thing that I kept hitting with my foot, and it kept making a not very pleasant and loud hollow sound.

The location was great, close enough to walk into the old, historic part of the city. This motel is spread out on a fair sized piece of land with a large open area in the middle with a beautiful and historic oak tree in the centre. The trolley tours come through several times an hour and describe the history of the tree to the passengers. It adds a lovely tone and feels like "Old St. Augustine". The staff were very friendly and the place is well kept although quite old and outdated; that's part of its charm. The pool was clean and a pleasant place to sit. the breakfast was a very good, well stocked, standard motel buffet. Good value. We'd stay again.

For the price we couldn't find fault.

The breakfast every day was outstanding. They had everything. Deward (hope i spelled it right) was fantastic and was always making sure everything was full and clean. Smile on his face always. He is an asset to everyone.

We loved everything,, for the price we paid we knew it wouldn't be fancy. It was nice size and clean. They cleaned every day. We never saw them except the last day we were leaving. Told them they didn't need to finish up in the room. The front desk girls fantastic and helpful

Our room was totally remodeled, with a white interior and it was very clean and spacious. The towels and bedding were soft and they provided extra pillows, as requested. Staff was exceptionally nice. Good breakfast. Best part was the hop on/hop off trolley stopped right in the parking lot so we were able to return to the villa during our tour. Short walking distance to Fountain of Youth, Old Jail and Oldest House with tour tickets available.

I was disappointed at first with the location and the exterior of the property. It is very old and Spanish style and I didn't think I would walk into "town," although it is on the edge of the historic area of St. Augustine. However, this changed when we checked out our room which was perfect for our visit with parking right outside our room.

The location is a little bit out of downtown, but the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The staff is attentive and eager to please. The room is clean, very large and comfortable. They have a breakfast here that is substantial and fresh and the attendant is very good about keeping it all Fresh I just cannot say enough good about these. People management pays very close attention to the property and the needs of their guest.

I like everything about the property. Nothing I did not like now I like to go downtown and Eden on the Fourth of July weekend is crowded but that is not the properties fault other than that I will definitely be coming here again.

We have stayed here several times because we love the location. It is a great location to be able to walk downtown where there are shops and restaurants and live music. Some might find it far, but there is lots to see and do on the way. But, this place is a stop along the trolley line, so if you bought that (we think it is quite pricey), you could use that for transport. It is also close to the Fort, and Ripley's and, the Fountain of Youth is right beside it. As Villa 1565 continues to renovate, the rooms get better and better. Super clean. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet fan/air conditioner!! The breakfast was great with eggs, sausage, biscuits, yoghurt etc.The breakfast room staff was very friendly and the place was clean. Coffee wasn't very good though...you could stand a spoon in it. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. This is not a super fancy or super new place so don't expect that, but, definitely, we will return to this place.

Really only a couple of things... The grounds could be a bit tidier, especially around the Senator tree which was litter with butts. And second is the coffee in the breakfast room. Way too thick and strong.

Breakfast Was both hot buffet and continental. It was lovely. Kitchen staff went out of their way to keep things filled and plentiful. They were outstanding! Their was comforting about pour room when we first checked in which was quickly rectified. The office staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Always fresh coffee in the lobby The hotels is one of the oldest in the historic district. It is in the heart of the historic district and close to all things historic. I love the sitting areas under the lights at night near the oldest living tree called the "Senator" which is 700 yrs old. If you like a comfortable, friendly hotel with good service on the heart of the historic district, this is the hotel for you! Did i mention its about 10 mins from Vilano Beach?? We had the best of both worlds!

I would say they need to invest in some updated furniture such as chairs and little tables in the rooms. They have a fair amount of wear on them. However, everything was clean and and well stocked. For the location and the price, it can't be beat.

The room was nice, the air conditioner was fairly quiet, breakfast was good! Loved the court yard with all the lights and the huge tree, great for relaxing under! The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to your destinations. We want to make your Villa our go to place to stay when we come to town to visit.

We didn’t really have any complaints! My only suggestion is maybe a few more pieces of art on the bare walls! And maybe a small blow dryer in the bathroom.

Our room was perfect for our stay. Partially upgraded with new floors. The furniture could use some tender, loving care but was adequate; bed was comfortable. The location is accessible to everything in St. Augustine; we used the hop on / hop off trolley which actually has a stop at this motel. The breakfast was okay, too many people for a small room tho; really strong coffee.

More room to eat breakfast and a better "flow" to the breakfast room. Parking spaces were a little small for an SUV or truck, so parking was tight in front of your room.
