This was our first stay in the ALVA Hotel although we were very familiar with this area of Hong Kong. The hotel well exceeded our expectations. We stayed for more than two weeks during the Christmas and New Year holidays and whilst the hotel was always busy the service provided by the ALVA hotel team was really very good. The food in the hotel was high quality and great value. Our room was comfortable and warm during the cooler weather of December and the lady who serviced the room kept it clean and well provisioned. We will definitely return to the ALVA hotel for our next visit to Hong Kong.

We had no complaints and any issues we did raise were very promptly attended to by the ALVA hotel team. Since we were staying during the very busy festive period it would be unfair to level any criticism of a team that were obviously working hard to deliver great service to all of the hotel guests.

It was a stunning hotel, lovely fragrance when I walked in and all the way to my room. Loved the courteous and awesome mannered staff who held doors open for me, helped me no matter what I needed, again lovely lovely staff!! Smart idea on the room fob keycards! The location was also really suitable, although they have shuttle buses to and from a few stations, the walking distance to the MTR 9/15mins max, very walkable. Would stay at Alva Hotel in future.

Well equipped large room. Bed very comfortable and TV huge. Great bathroom - big and very clean. Great view with large full room window. Housekeeping very good. We were made to feel welcome. All staff helpful and polite. And very good at getting taxis every day!

Many public areas eg the front bar and the bar in the japanese restaurant on the 28th floor were VERY cold with air conditioning on full power. I did raise this with staff but there was nothing they could do. We stopped eating in the brasserie as too uncomfortable to sit for long. Breakfast expensive. And served too late (10.00 am) for people who are working? We found eating here very expensive.

I can honestly say that the whole experience was very good. From the welcoming and check-in, to the room size and very comfortable bed. A bonus the room was very quiet, which helps when trying to sleep off the jetlag. The bathroom was a good size, clean and had a really nice shower. I recommend the morning buffet breakfast, there's a very wide variety and the staff are very welcoming. A final bonus was the rooftop pool, which was well maintained.

The gym equipment wasn't of a very high standard and a rowing machine in there would have been nice. Being an early starter (business travel), having the gym opening a little earlier would have been nice, as well as a sauna. But, to be honest pretty minor details.

Overall our room was clean and comfy (bed is not really big though), good soundproofing. The service was good, we asked for a few extra things and got them right away. No weird smells in the hallways or room, which is VERY important for us. Good air conditioning. Very nice breakfast.

Some staff cannot speak English at all (it's a 5 stars hotel), for example we asked the lady in the gym what was the pool's water temperature and she kept pointing at the towels. Same happened when I asked sth at breakfast and the lady cooking couldn't understand (so another customer stepped in and helped). Heads up in case of unstable weather: we couldn't enjoy the pool as it's outdoors and most of the time the thunderstorm signal was on force. Last thing: except for the little side river (canal) I'd say the views and surroundings are not so enjoyable.

Loved our room so spacious for HK the bathroom was very modern and the bed so comfy, the staff do speak English and the cleaners are very efficient. Shek Mun is a lovely little area to hang out with small restaurants and shops just 5 minutes away.

There is two MTR’s located close by however to get to TST and HK island does take time like 30/45 minutes or so, after they’re closed you’ll have to taxi.

It was much newer than the hotel we stayed at for our previous leg in Taiwan. The decor, facilities, staff (linguistics, knowledgability, service) was top notch.

The room was a little cramped for a family with young children. We would have to return during the day on most days in order to let the children take a nap and the amount of time spent in the room made it more evident that the room was "small".

It is remniscent of Royal Park Hotel (same hotel group) but much newer in terms of decor and facilities. My stay included buffet breakfast, which had excellent variety and quality.

Whilst there was a shuttle service, it is probably not frequent enough for the location of the hotel and the purposes of our stay. We ended up using a taxi far more than I would have if we stayed at Royal Park instead.

Clean and convenient. Staff was helpful. It was centrally located to the MTR and local restaurants right behind the MTR station.

There is a buffet restaurant located in the hotel. Food was not very good for dinner. Had a good variety, but just so so in taste and quality. Skip that. The Dim Sum Restaurant on the second floor was nice and food was tasty there and not crowded. Not great variety but decent.

Friendly concierge, good location with different transport links, tablet controlled settings for the room, good sized pool (would have liked it to be heated!)

The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor, cups weren't cleaned properly on a couple of occasions, would have been better if the main room lights could have been switched on/off separately rather than all or nothing
