The room was cosy ,well presented and spotlessly clean . It had a desk and chair available so you weren't limited to sitting on your bed. The bathroom was very large and spacious and had great lighting and a window and also spotlessly clean. It's located in a quiet street and within easy walking distance to town or the option of a bus stop nearby. John was a lovely welcoming host allowing me to store my luggage as i arrived early mid morning and also offered an early check in. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect thank you.

This is one of the best guest houses in Southampton in my view. Room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious for a room described as small. Bathroom was also very nice, clean and shower was good. Host was friendly and kindly moved his car so I could park on the drive, and then helped me back out in the morning! Most importantly for me, the room was quiet enabling me to get a good night's sleep.

Very little not to like. I could imagine parking could be difficult, but it ended up not being a problem.

Everything! Greeted with a smile and a warm handshake. I was then shown to my room and it was roomy and spotless . There was a double bed ,and two singles , an ensuite Toilet and shower together with fresh towels. There was a TV and Tea/ Coffee facilities also. The bed was super comfy too , honestly I couldn’t fault the place if I tried . I was offered but declined breakfast as I was away early next morning but after smelling the cooked breakfast the next morning I wish I’d taken up the guys offer. Was it value for money or the going rate ? I’m not sure as I don’t do this very often as I was only there for a football match . BUT my friends stayed elsewhere for £40 pp per night and it was very basic and from what they told me and it was only for 1 night I’m glad I paid the extra £20 . Happy days .

I had the full traditional cooked breakfast. This was perfectly cooked and everything was of really good quality. V gd value for the extra £8. I had a single room with ensuite. The room was perfectly adequate although a little small. Everything was very clean and it was conveniently located a reasonable walk from the town centre and station.

Location inbetween town, train station and university campus is ideal. Spacious, clean room and a quiet road. The host John was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and we appreciated the en suite facilities. Good value for money.

There’s nothing not to like!

Very warm welcome from John on arrival and he was so helpful and relaxed, just what I needed after a long journey. The guest house was very clean and comfortable, the room was spacious and had everything you could need. It felt very peaceful and quiet and only a 5 min walk from the train station.

Nothing. It was super on every level. Other guest house owners should come and stay here to experience how it should be done.

The room was nice and clean, big enough for me and my son to stay in. The owner gentleman was really nice and friendly. It was quiet in the building despite the rooms all fully booked and it having 10 rooms. I'd definitely stay there again

The room needed a good dusting the blinds and the wooden rail around the room. The was no parking outside in the car park outside the front of the property so I had to park down the road and walk to the property which I didn't expect to do as there was a carpark.

Landguard Lodge is situated in a convenient location close to the centre of Southampton. Our room was very nice, beds were really confortable, and the breakfast was cooked as we ordered it. We could not fault our stay at Landguard Lodge

There was nothing about Languard Lodge we did not like.

Great location. Reasonably close to cruise terminal and only 10 minute walk from train station. (I wouldn't recommend it with luggage, but once you're settled it's a breeze). Rare to have a private bath for what the room cost. Owner is great!

I didn't mind no A/C in room, but a fan would have been nice. (I don't know if all rooms are like that, and I was there on one of the hottest days of the year, so it probably isn't an issue most of the time)
