The room I had was great. Close to entrance and clean. Nice bathtub, clean and good decent volume of water shower head. Plenty of places to eat around within walking distance

I’m sure the TV remote can be fixed so a paying customer doesn’t have to troubleshoot the battery compartment £4/hr for parking before 6pm is simply obscene …. I know this isn’t down to the hotel, but still …. Big towels for the bath would be helpful, those are more like hand towels. I was lucky I had my own with me.

The room was fine, comfortable and clean. It was small but fine for two people for a couple of nights. The location is fantastic - really near lots of cafes and restaurants and easy public transport into the city centre.

The guest house isn't as nice as the hotel of the same name across the road. The stairs are really steep and narrow - not great at all if you have mobility issues. Our room was in the basement so it was a bit dark and dingy. There was cleaning stuff left around in the corridors so it looked a bit scruffy. I'd recommend booking at the hotel, not the guest house. It's the same business but I've stayed there and it was nicer.

Arrived Sunday, parked right on the doorstep (parking is free on Sundays, which was a bonus). Check in was simple and quick. Was very surprised how nice the room was considering the budget price, comfy beds, TV, kettle with coffees and teas. Big shower, all very clean. I often get a 'cheap' hotel when I'm in Glasgow to see a band play, because it's nice to have a beer and not worry about the long drive back home at night. This was easily the nicest place I've stayed for the price bracket I paid. I'll definitely book here next time I'm at the OVO Hydro.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Superb location for museums open top bus stop, cafes & restaurants. Ground floor room excellent for my mother who has mobility issues. Lovely clean bathroom and bedroom. Option to leave luggage after checking out in a locked room was really useful.

If you're bringing a car you'll need to find your own private space as there is no long term day time parking options at the property just drop off short term street parking and overnight parking from 6pm until 8am.Use the justpark app. The mattress on one of the beds had some dodgy springs which were uncomfortable. I'd probably skip the breakfast as there are plenty of nicer coffee places nearby.

I stayed one night en route from Canada to the Orkney Islands - fabulous room and service (Neve was on front desk). On my return trip home to Canada, I booked 4 nights at the Guest House. Alas, I was given a basement room (#14) - difficult access, small and no bathtub. Not comfortable. However, when I discussed with Kieran (sp), he was able to book me for my last 2 nights in the same room I had on my first night upon arrival from Canada. He was pleasant, understanding and accommodating. Based on his efforts/actions to improve my stay, I would definitely stay again at the Argyll and would recommend it to others.

See above. I was disappointed with the basement room at the Guest House.

Very convenient position for the University and main town centre (although a good walk) Buses, if required are very frequent. Room was clean and warm although furniture a little 'tired'. It was cleaned daily and towels changed - this was not expected, but welcome. Staff extremely friendly and obviously work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delightfully presented with great variety. We felt the whole stay as great value for money. Thank you

Nothing to not like about the Guest House, but we were surprised at the amount of litter and potholes on the pavements outside and along the whole of the street into the town centre. All rubbish bins were overflowing and quite smelly.

Great location for events at Hydro, within easy walking distance. Good size triple room with 3 full size single beds for adults, as well as table and chairs. Clean and comfortable. Best value triple room available in area on a night of high demand due to concert. Lots of great bars, restaurants and a Tesco metro close by. Good transport links to city centre (bus or short walk to low level train). Attractive old building with period features.

Entrance and corridors were uncomfortably overheated but windows in our room did open so we were able to cool that down. Some guests may have difficulty with access so be aware of steep, narrow, low clearance stairs down to basement room (this was fine for us). Check in staff reluctant to provide more than 1 key card for triple room, telling us they were running low that night. Grudgingly provided 2 - at £280 for one night - a key card for each adult to have independent access is not much to expect, especially since the main door to the building also needs the card.

Our visit was quite enjoyable. The accommodation was very pleasant and offered excellent value for the amount of money spent. Good restaurants and bars and some of the main attractions of the city, are located close to the hotel. You can get to the city centre in around 15' by bus. The fact that breakfast was included in the fee, was also very appreciated.

The noises made by closing doors and conversations among other guests on the corridor are the two things I would mention as a disadvantage. The breakfast was lacking in fruit and pastries of any kind, so I would have liked to see a few more options that would have certainly enhanced the overall experience.

Quick to check in. Welcome at reception. The room had fresh and tasteful decor, bay window with table and chairs. Also comfy beds. Good lighting. Staff very attentive at breakfast with tea and coffee immediately brought to table. The self-service "all you want" buffet offered many juice, yogurt and cereal choices, toast and full hot breakfast, even including fat sausages or Scottish square sausages in array of choices. Location nice: next door to friendly historic pub, The Settle Inn. Quick walk to many restaurants, Kelvingrove Park and Museum and the Beautiful Hunterian.

Not a dislike. Just a note: Both our bedroom and the breakfast room were down steep stairs that looked quite scary but were actually OK. Each step had a lip on outer edge so were not slippy and banister was adequate. Found lift down to Breakfast room but not to lower bedrooms in our annex across road from main hotel.

The hotel was walkable distance to the city centre and a variety of restaurants. Kevingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Park and the University of Glasgow. The room was not like the pictures on the profile but it still look good and clean. The room was spacious, had sufficient storage for a short stay, clean and spacious bathroom with good hot water flow. The guest house is generally clean. The reception was in the building across and the host was really friendly. There is a lot of parking around the area and it is free between 6pm to 8am.

My major issue was that the WiFi is not password protected. This leaves potential issues especially if you are there for work and have to or plan to work from the hotel. Minor or lower than minor or room to improve, the room carpet is a little worn out and the bathroom heater was next to the toilet. To be fair to the host, for what the room cost, it was a good deal for me. The toilet comment was more for someone who is tall and big. I have attached the photo people to see. You will need to switch off the heater so you don’t shock yourself with the hot heater. Once you are used to it, it will be fine. Finally, the table was too close to the bed. Made it hard for me to put the chair in to sit and work from. Simple furniture rearrangement will do.
