I'm hesitant to give a glowing rating, as you don't want folks to figure this out! An amazing place, but I think either you love it or you don't. Staff is friendly, Armando provides breakfast poolside to get you going. It's a place where unique travelers gather and trade stories. Very different set up to your traditional hotel.

The only negative would be shower was always cold . If you're a light sleeper, there is lots of noise in the area as windows are netting only. Even the hike up spiralling stairs to the room was manageable!

Jen and La Quinta Orquidea were absolutely incredible! Loved the tour of the property n hearing a lil of the story of her place. Couldn’t have imagined a cooler place to stay. Perfect location for enjoying a cute fishing village just blocks away from the beach. Super well taken care of by super friendly staff. Even without AC the ocean breeze, the tapestries made it a beautiful spot to sleep. (We stayed in the rooftop penthouse) and my husband and I have never slept better. Been in a thousand hotels in different cities over the years but this might be my favorite. Glass bottle walls/art hidden in the stone made my heart soar.

If I had to pick something and totally out of their control - temporary construction noise across the road but she kept us updated on their start/end times

you won’t find anything similar in the whole peninsula. everything is crafted uniquely and it will amaze you. if you are seeking something different, or feel a bit hippie… just go here

- we ended up not sleeping in the property because after the flight we needed a quieter place. the room doesn’t have real wall but nets, so a lot of noise came in and, I assume, sunlight in the early morning - a lot of miscommunication with the host, we ended up with a very small refund because we allegedly used the parking space and we had breakfast (which we didn’t, it was too late)

This is a very unexpected property full of charm in the middle of Puerto Morelos and very near of the beach. All the bedrooms are different and decorated in a mexicain style with beautifull wooden pieces. But one of the result of the good location is that some bedrooms may be very noisy because of the city traffic . The breakfast is freshly prepared and different each day but is a little bit too late at 9.

The first room that I had which was too noisy and the lack of Information in the rooms concerning the use of the television and access to warm water.

Absolutely loved staying in this little bohemian slice of paradise. Comfy bed, charming spacious room with chairs, tables and hamac and the breakfast that is included is hearty and delicious. Place was clean, staff was kind and unobtrusive. I was in room 6 which is a bit more rustic but I enjoyed being set back from the road. For anyone with mobility issues though, contact the hotel and be sure to book the downstairs room as all other rooms have a lot of stairs. Recommended to anyone who enjoys an accommodation that is out of the ordinary. It's a very special place and I plan to come back!

Unique, beautiful, and centrally located. The owner was very open and honest about construction across the street and provided a sound machine which helped a lot.

Felt more like camping than a hotel, but didn’t mind this at all since only stayed for a couple nights. Wouldn’t want to stay longer without hot water or AC in the room. The door was hard to lock and was a pretty frustrating at times.

Amazing architecture which makes the stay worthwhile. Well situated and very close to all restaurants, beach and activities. A little noise but nothing extreme where my room was situated. Breakfast was ok but served too late.

No room cleaning during three days .No shampoo, shower soap available or drinking water so bring your own. Nobody around after 4pm so do arrangements for check-in in advance

Magical Gilligan's Island type getaway with a touch of Gaudi. There's only one of these, that's for sure. The breakfast was fantastic. Individually made tortilla espanol with tomatoes cooked in basil, an array of fresh fruit to start, and great coffee. The kitchen staff were warm and friendly too.

A couple of very small things - the stairs going up to the palapa room were a bit iffy and hard to navigate. You need to take great care on the stairs, and particularly when carrying your bags.

We loved the breakfast: the fresh food, the lovely setting in the courtyard, and most of all the sweet and kind chef who greeted us and made sure we were happy with our meal.

We loved every moment: the unique architecture, the proximity to the beach and many restaurants and coffee shops, the wonderful host who checked on us when we saw each other in the courtyard. We are already planning to return next winter.

One of the most magical hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely strange and stunning. Every time I Have been to this town I have stopped by to photograph this amazing building so imagine My delight when I realized someone had turned it into a hotel. It's like being in a strange dream. Just wonderful.

This is not a complaint but an observation. Lots of steep and windy stairs. For some people that might be disconcerting. I say to heck with them! But still, seriously, it's nice to know.
