The location is good, you can see the Mt. Fuji view from your bedroom. It's also near Yamanaka lake which you can take a photo with Mt. Fuji .

There is no elevator in this property, And we got a room on the second floor, so we have to carry our big luggage by ourselves. However, the staffs are nice, they helped us carry some luggages. There is no bathroom in the room. We have to use the private onsen for taking a shower and we have to reserve the time since there is only one private onsen. If you come during low season, that's ok. But we came during NY holiday, so lots of people were staying here.

The overall hospitality is fantastic! The room is spacious. The staff really considers the guest, the onsen, a small gift from the staff, and snacks available in vicinity since food isn't not easily in reach at night. Also the view from Mount Fuji is beautiful, and the shared garden in the back was a nice touch. The foot massage garden was one of my favorites as it both entertained and educated me about how the foot connects to a part of the body

End of Nov, Sunset is at 4 30 pm, and we arrived at 7.pm. everything was dark. The location is a bit of a walk uphill. But Japan is a safe country.

Staffs are helpful and kind. Location is great, Yamanaka lake, bus stop, convince store, restaurants are close. And the rental bikes are good quality.

I liked the private onsen, it was always available for us to use! The room was also good, very spacious, and the bedding was the best on our trip to Japan. We also used the garden, when the weather was nice, and it had a view of Mt. Fuji and a place to sit in the sun.

Other accommodations helped us with luggage forwarding, except this one. We were told to do it ourselves at the nearby post office, but we found the forms to be intimidating to fill out on our own. Not a big minus, and I kinda understand - it's a tiny hotel, but still something to consider beforehand if you have big luggage.

Incredible small traditional Japanese Inn tucked away two blocks from the lakeside at Yamanakako. Very quiet! We didn't realize how loud / busy the main road directly around the lake would be (lots of trucks), so we were happy to be a couple blocks away where it was much more quiet. Showering in the onsen bathrooms was an amazing experience. 24/7 access to these bathrooms. They had two of them, first come, first serve. It was allowed that my partner and I could go in together so that made for a very nice experience, since most onsens are segregated. Checkin process was very easy with booking.com, the receptionist did not speak english but had a translator device that made communication very easy. The bike rental on-site was very nice too (just make sure you test it out before you leave! some adjustments were necessary for us). Lots of snacks onsite if you are arriving late or don't want to travel out (most restaurants are closed after 8pm in nearby area, except Denny's). Very close walk to the lake. Partial view of Fuji from our room! We were so happy to have stayed here. So quiet and peaceful. Surpassed my expectations, highlight of our trip. So happy to have stayed at Yamanaka, too --- we visited Fujikawaguchiko later and it felt very busy, rushed, crowded, touristy in comparison. We felt like we had the entire Yamanaka lake / bike path to ourselves.

Beds were very firm. No shower in the actual room was a surprise (only toilet / sink), but never had issues getting an onsen bathroom to ourselves (even better experience IMO). Could be an issue if the hotel is busy though, as there were no reservation type system.

Firstly the room is not that expensive. We love the room which was Mt Fuji facing. The room is so spacious that you could have at least 5 ppl to live in. The onsen can be used by yourself by locking the door (the personnel said). It is a beautiful place.

The location- we travel on our foot and public transport. The closest bus station is 200m away but getting to main train station is time consuming. It is better you drive around this area. No own bathroom- there is no shower room in our room so we have to go to shared shower which is part of our hotspring. Luckily every time I get there there are no ppl in there.

It is a very special place located near Lake Yamanakako with excellent views of Mt Fuji. The rooms are traditional ryokan with tatami mats and you have your own amenities to make tea or heat up something in the microwave. You are also about a 10 min walk from bus station and downtown - which has excellent places to eat and drink. Also the onsen was great and in the lounge area you could build a fire!

You don't have your own bathroom - but that is part of the deal the kitchen is stocked with food but I wish there more fresh options but again when we were there, I believe there were only a few guests so I think in the end it could be quite wasteful.

It had a 24 hour onsen which was amazing to use as it had all the little extra necessities such as shampoo, conditioner, hair ties, face wash, body lotion, mouthwash etc. it also had a massage chair in one of them! The room itself was equipped with a kettle, tea & fridge as well as an amazing traditional room with the mats on the ground and a low table. Our two kids absolutely loved it, dressing up in their robes whenever going to the onsen and the floor mattresses! It’s perfect if you want a beautiful traditional experience. And as a bonus they have a whole bunch of kids games and activities in the shared kitchen/outdoor space + a free Kid’s Room! It was the perfect stay and the hosts were super friendly :) I recommend staying here with or without kids 🥰

Everything was perfect!

An authentic Japanese small hotel. Very quiet and clean. The bed is very comfortable. What we liked the best is the private onsen. They have 2 onsen rooms with shower and dressing area, complete with toiletries. My husband and i enjoyed it very much. We had the entire onsen place exclusive to us. The staff is very nice and helped us carry our travelling bag to the second floor. Showed us the amenities of the hotel like giving us a “house tour”. They speak good English. We needed to shorten our stay since their place was far from our target location and they were very helpful to reverse the transaction. For us, everything was excellent! We had a very relaxing stay. There is a well known Japanese restaurant that serves authentic Hoto, Syouya, it is popular to celebrities. We arrived at 5pm but it was full after a few minutes. Denny’s is also near the area and we had a good breakfast facing the Yamanakako Lake.

The dining area had a stunning, near unobstructed view of Mt Fuji. Onsen bath uses a reservation system so you can bathe with your partner / family. Fireplace is lit at night and is a warm and cozy place to spend the evenings after a hot bath. Lots of free amenities and facilities (free coffee, tea, water, table tennis, billiards, rental bikes, etc.)! Owner is the loveliest gentleman who gave us the best tour of the facilities - even giving us a peek at one of the bigger rooms for a spectacular view of Mt Fuji! As someone who was formerly in the hotel industry, it was very sad to see the low occupancy rate during the long weekend - hope borders open soon so we do not lose this gem of an accommodation experience!

Facilities are well kept but on the older side. The bottom futon mattress could use a lint roller - there was some stray hairs leftover from previous guests who probably tied up the mattresses themselves. Didn't think too much of it as the top mattress and sheets were clean.
