The hotel was one of the more unique hotels that we stayed at while we did the Camino since it was formerly a hospital. It has many old pieces through the building as decoration. It is also conveniently located along the Camino with a couple bars/restaurants and a mini store within walking distance. We enjoyed the view from our window of the countryside. The breakfast buffet was filling and had a variety of fruits, pastries, choice of fried or scrambled eggs, juices, coffee, hot chocolate, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt. Be sure to go to the “cafeteria” and not the restaurant for the breakfast buffet if it’s included with your room price. We accidentally went to the restaurant first which is attached to the hotel and there was all kinds of confusion amongst our fellow pilgrims who also showed up to the restaurant and were being charged for a croissant and coffee. Luckily, I remembered that the person checking us in had pointed in the opposite direction of restaurant so I backtracked and found a lovely dining area set up with the buffet and server waiting to assist you.

The bed was not comfortable and sagged. The bathroom had a smell to it.

Right on the Camino and had gorgeous views of the town. My room looked out onto the church - such a gorgeous view! The room was nicely appointed and had a nice heater, which was great as the night got very chilly. The pilgrim’s dinner was just ok, but the morning breakfast buffet was the best on the Camino! Lots of options including eggs, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, cheese, coffee, tea, juice…not just coffee and toast like most other breakfast offerings on the Camino.

Pricey. Bed was old and sagged in the middle.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building the rooms were excellent - quiet and comfortable. The staff were very kind and friendly.

The hotel also offers auberge rooms for the pilgrims walking the Camino. This is fine. What was disappointing is that the restaurant and bar/cafeteria primarily caters for the guests doing the Camino. We had no choice in the restaurant but to order the "pilgrims menu del dia" nothing else was offered. We almost could not get a table either. Overall I felt that paying almost $150 AUD for a room given that we could not really enjoy the facilities was alot to ask. If we had known we would not have stayed there.

beautiful hotel

breakfast buffet was run by a rude and anxious man named June. we asked for a second cup of coffee. he took my cup and told my wife she needed to finish hers first. it had one sip left. he returned with mine but ignored us several times for her refill. when my wife confronted him he became agitated and very loud, attracting the attention of everyone. we left the buffet without finishing. he should learn some manners.

Historic building with very large rooms decorated with chandeliers and comfortable sitting room chairs. Bed comfortable. Breakfast included with hotel lots of options. And we had lunch. This was a three course meal and wine included. Delicious with professional wait staff. Registration was easy. All staff wonderful. We were early to check into our room we were able to get coffee and others had a full breakfast. Nice area to dry off after a very rainy windy hike on the Camino.

Everything. Decor, room size was very nice. From lobby to each floor was decorated superbly. Felt like staying at a Parador. Highly recommend to anyone walking the camino if you want to be pampered for an evening. Breakfast buffet included was very nice also! Although a bit tough to hike over the mountain after a big breakfast.

Nothing.

Loved the history of the hotel. The pilgrim meal was excellent. Breakfast was the best on the Camino up to this point.

The only negative for us was the WiFi was marginal in our room and the bar. This was a minor inconvenience only manifested in a highly digital world. WiFi service was necessary due to our requirement for international calling. We were able to complete all requirements with difficulty. Still, I would not pass an opportunity to stay again.

This is a real gem on the Camino. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The building is historic with lots of interesting artifacts and grounds are inviting. Rooms exceptionally clean. Food is outstanding...best during our last two weeks on the Camino. Don't miss the communal evening meal and the outstanding breakfast buffet.

Everything was wonderful

Beautiful spacious rooms, large bathrooms with good water pressure, decent pilgrims meals and very clean

A very minor issue but would help to have a washing machine and dryer! Especially as it is on the camino trail so I assume many people that stay here are pilgrims who would benefit but other than that it was an amazing stay!!

A quirky hotel and hostel situated on the Camino de Santiago, so full of interesting people...we were the only people to arrive by car that night, the rest had walked. A set menu of 5 choices and a house wine is available for a really reasonable price

I liked it all, especially the decor and building history.
