Multiple things. I liked how the bed was against a window outlooking onto an awesome view. The lighting and technology in the room was great. Helpful staff. Coffee was delicious from the POD machine and I liked how it outlined what POD was what. Location was good, walked out the door to the shore and the beautiful walkway. The IPAD in the room was good where you can order drinks and mentioned the staff would even bring up the Uber eats you ordered!

It was nice and modern, the room, the library area and lounge bar area were all really nice. I feel the hotel pays attention to detail, the whole hotel had a pleasant scent throughout as you walked through, and calm music playing in the lifts. Check in was seamless and the hotel staff were also quite friendly. The bedroom had some unique features that helped make the stay more comfortable, for example black out curtains and you could change the lighting throughout the room in your bed so you don’t have to get up to turn the lights off. The room had built in speakers which you could connect to with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. I appreciated that they used a good brand coffee (St Ali) for the pod machine in the room and Byredo soaps/body washes etc for bathroom were also a nice touch too. Over all I enjoyed my stay here and would come back! Locations fairly good, 20 mins walk from the city centre Darby Street or 5 minutes walk to the Interchange station.

Honestly pretty happy with everything. Whilst the location was good it wasn’t perfect in the sense that the there weren’t many restaurant/cafe options immediately around (there were a few but not much). It would be so nice if the hotel had its own kitchen for breakfast, based on the quality of everything else, I could imagine they’d do it well! Over all this is much better than the average 4 star hotel, and better than some 5 star hotels I’ve been to.

Everything was honestly so good! One of the Best hotel experience I’ve had. The room was good, staff were super friendly and helpful, earlier check in was not a problem and they even offered me late check out without even asking, this is next level customer service. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind! The hotel is super modern, the gym is top class and the library- I got my work done, printed some documents, had coffee and biscuits. This is so much more I expected, I will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone I know.

There was little bit weird smell in the room, not bad but just strange. Not all the time but sometimes.. I don’t know, maybe it was me :D

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The TV stopped working and the person who came to the room persisted until he fixed the problem. He offered to move us to another room if he wasn't successful. The location is great and the cleanliness throughout the hotel is exemplary.

No space around the bed which makes i hard to get into. Limited parking at the bottom level which means you need to park at an upper-level walk down the stairs and into the hotel to take the elevator up to your room. When booking it isn't obvious that there is an extra charge for the parking.

Wonderful hotel. Lots of little inclusions that make for a special stay. The Byredo products obviously give a luxurious touch and I don’t just mean the toiletries, the entire hotel smells fantastic. The bar was exceptional with a great view, a really well thought out and interesting (delicious) cocktails and incredibly friendly and professional staff. We were travelling on to Canberra afterwards and if I’d realised there was also a Little National Hotel located there, I would definitely have booked in for the duration of our stay there!

I understand the need for the bed to be small due to the room size, but whilst the width of the bed was workable for one or two people, my partner really struggled with how short it was. If the beds were turned to face the window rather than along side it, it would allow for some extra room at the end of the bed for taller people to stretch out comfortably.

On arrival the hotel looks great. Entrance is large and clean, easy, friendly and fast check in. Comfy King sized bed, nice white fresh bedding and towels. The room was well equipped and high tech, eg touch pad controlled lights, curtain and blind. Modern bathroom, great shower and good quality toiletries. Nice bar, well stocked, friendly staff and a 'library' area above for working or chillin (tea, coffee and water all available free). Amazing well equipped gym with water station, towels and apples available! Friendly staff throughout, Marco, Riley and Ross did us proud when we wanted to extend our stay and be in the same room. Great value for money (new opening rates).

Not a lot to dislike other than the orientation of the bed. Having to climb over your partner in the middle of the night wasn't easy without waking them!

We were there for the very first night of the hotel being open to the public, so everything was brand new! Super clean and minimalist modern. Blinds and curtains were all electronic. It had everything we needed from a capsule coffee machine to soft robes. Perfect location, easy walk from the station and trams. (I think they should give lifetime benefits to all guests who stayed there the first night it opened!)

Given that it was the first night of having public guests stay there, the sheets and pillow covers were still a bit hard and starchy. Everything else was perfect.

If looking for somewhere nice to stay in Newcastle, I highly recommend the Little National Hotel Newcastle!! So new & fresh. Everything is push button & swipe card. Staff are so welcoming & accommodating. Spoke to a lovely staff member this afternoon to stay another night & he informed me that I’ll get it cheaper if I book on bookings.com plus I blurted out my circumstances & he waived parking fee which was $35. Bed & pillows so comfortable & shower bloody awesome 🙌🏻 Apparently there is a bar on 1st floor but haven’t visited. Great location. Close to honeysuckle harbour eateries, & Newcastle west. Oh & the place smells devine. Apparently, they have it infusing from in the building somewhere. I just want to bottle it & take it home.

I loved the hotel❤️, an establishment with heart. The reception staff were very pleasant, assisting with any enquiry and the general ambience of the establishment was very sophisticated and welcoming. The auxiliary staff deserve a mention too…they appear to love their jobs and the guests! The room was great, adored the high-tech operation which worked very well and was extremely user-friendly which is not always the case! The lounge provided snack food with style, coffee and drinks with very efficient, obliging staff who worried over any delay or perceived inconvenience. I didnt use the business centre but it appeared to be very comprehensive with the addition of small private offices. The location was perfect for my visit.

The perfect hotel … a rare gem.

The rooms are exactly the same layout as the Little National in Sydney so if you’ve enjoyed them you’ll love Newcastle as it currently has fantastic views of the foreshore.well designed small but comfortable rooms. Lots of nice touches like T2 teas in the room, large comfortable bed, lots of charging ports fluffy gowns. The library and bar are very nicely done and a great place for as light meal and drinks or to have your UberEats delivered. Very close to the foreshore and Honeysuckle area so plenty of nice places to at out close by, or pretty places to sit and watch the working harbour while you enjoy a coffee. Very conveniently located near the Newcastle Interchange and light rail station so getting there and away was a breeze. Staff were relaxed but attentive making check in and out trouble free and quick. Great place for both business and leisure in Newcastle.

The beds are very comfortable and huge however if you sleep on the window side and need to use the bathroom at night you will need to crawl over your partners legs as there is no direct access to that side of the bed. We travel very light so have minimal baggage but if you take it all with you there may be space issues in the room unpacking a large suitcase. They do have larger rooms available at this Little National and both of these issues may be addressed by choosing one of these rooms instead of a standard room
