Staff were very friendly and helpful. Secure car park (€15) was great; I was moving from UK to Poland by car so it was full with stuff. Location is great with lots of restaurants around. Booked a single room, but got an upgrade to a double one so got a bigger bed. Breakfast was ok.

Was a bit lound outside when window was open as the hotel is very close to city cetre and noise is expected. Don't think the "double" bed actually fits 2 adults so you might want to pick a bigger room if there is 2 of you.

All was amazing. Starting with the location: close to train station, close to football museum and lot of places to eat. The rooms were big and very clean. The linen was crisp and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The water in the shower with good pressure and easy to adjust your preferred temperature. We got free water bottles in the fridge, tea, and coffee amenities. Both girls in reception : the evening and morning shift ladies were above and beyond to help us with any questions we had, and they speak very good English. Thank you for having us, and we will definitely stay with you again!!!

The only thing I would advise is that the windows can be opened widely even if you are on the top floors - can be a hazard for guests, but I don't know the German laws and policy....so hopefully your management will look into it..

I liked that the room was clean, water from the faucet is both hot and cold, good shower, there is also a handy table lamp that lights the table brightly, also there is a fan, but I didn't use it, everything was in great condition. Also you get a coffee/tea set for one person which consists of an electric kettle, 1 cup, 1 glass, 1 instant coffee powder, 1 tea bag, 1 coffee creamer and 2 sugar packs. Additionally, you have a mini fridge which already has a complimentary small bottle of water. Staff is polite and managed to accommodate my requests.

My room was on a busy side of the street, so when I opened the windows, it was too noisy to sleep, but when I close the windows, it gets stuffy in the room pretty quick. I guess it is only a problem only when you stay here during summer

This was my second stay at BIG MAMA Dortmund, and it was just as great as the first one. My room was bright, clean, spacious and quiet and had exceptional facilities. I was upgraded upon my arrival, which I would like to thank the hotel for. The receptionist who met me on arrival was the same young lady who had checked me out previously. I did not ask her name, but she knows who she is - thank you for everything, the best hotels in the world would be lucky to have you!! I would recommend this property to travellers who want a comfortable stay and also to be close to both the city centre and different means of transport. I had an early flight and really appreciated the short walk to the Airport Express bus stop. I will definitely stay at this property again the next time I am in Dortmund.

BIG MAMA Dortmund is a great choice for travellers who will be using Dortmund's main railway station and also those who have early flights as the property is a short, safe walk from the Airport Express bus stop. I stayed here on a Saturday night, a very loud and busy night in the city, but the modern soundproof windows provided enough quiet for me to get a good night's sleep. The room was lovely, spacious and light and all the facilities in it exceeded my expectations. The Internet connection was good and stable and the selection of TV channels was also great! Perhaps the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are not only professional, but make you feel really welcome. Whenever I entered or exited the property, there was always someone at the reception desk. I would recommend this property to all types of travellers because it can meet different kinds of needs.

Everything was great.

Firstly, the price I paid helped with my expectations being exceeded. It was excellent location, room was awesome, bed comfy, shower worked and in good order, all great.

The only gripe, and it is not a big deal, or the fault of the hotel, is that there was a lot of cars beeping and being idiots on the main road by the hotel. However; the hotel has cool windows with sound proof levels and ventilation that you can control, so they have a good attempt to offer peace. Top job.

Fantastic location; easy walking access to train station and city center. Extremely comfortable and clean room, helpful staff. Lots of space!

I was put into a room overlooking the road, which was very busy and loud all night. There is an option for climatisation, which I did not use, which would have made the room quieter since I could have kept the windows closed.

Great location, only minutes away from the central train station, access to the U-Bahn as well as many shops and restaurants. Very close to the Christmas market in December. The bed was super comfortable, the room was very quiet as well as exceptionally clean. I loved having a kettle, mini fridge and Nespresso machine. Staff was friendly and check-in and check-out only took a few minutes. I went to Dortmund to attend Comic Con and Big Mama was the perfect hotel for that, it took me less than 15 minutes total to get to the Westfalenhalle. Would stay here again anytime.

This hotel exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it. The best thing was how nice, friendly, and helpful the whole hotel personnel was. The entire hotel was super clean and everything looked brand new, probably because things are indeed brand new. I asked for a quiet room and got the quietest room ever (sixth floor, not facing the avenue). The room was a bit hot though, no AC, but a fun was almost enough. (So, not the best place for days above 27 C). I hope the personnel keeps such a lovely attitude and energy, and do not get bitter over time as it happens with so many places. They are just starting so they are full of energy right now! This is the perfect time to stay at BIG MAMA! Give it a try! The location was also perfect for me. Finally, I loved the breakfast room! It is lovely, super quiet (with relaxing ambient music), and a smiling person taking care of the breakfast. Very enjoyable.

The quality and variety of the breakfast was very good but not great. (I am very picky with food I have to admit). This is where I see room for improvement. Probably they are not having enough people in the hotel to offer more variety/quality. Some things did not look super fresh and others were more on the cheap side. But, I enjoyed my breakfasts anyway.

Good location near to Hauptbahnhof (3 minutes walk), equipment of room was generous (fridge, kettle, many options for lighting the room, hairdryer, large TV screen with possibility to connect with your own Netflix account, wardrobe, shower gel). Room was perfect clean, easy and fast check-in and out.

No A/C available, only ventilation system. But temperature in the room was ok.
