There is a lot to say about this location. It is exceptionally worth a visit. The hotel is very good, the location excellent. The hotel has a museum which is worth seeing even 2 times, that you can understand everything. The staff is very friendly and provides useful information, especially if you want to get around the area. Nearby there are several places worth seeing. I recommend Petra, about 1 hour away, especially for people passionate about geology.
It may seem bizarre but there is a strong smell of fish throughout the area all day. It can be disturbing for some people. For me there were no problems.

Interesting little town and historic hotel, comfortable beds and generally nice. Had elevator access which was greatly appreciated. Great view even from the street side (our room could see the little street and a waterfall). Staff were one of the friendliest/normal Ive encountered in Iceland besides in Reykjavik.
Fish smell of the town, honestly I got used to it after freaking out at first, but it comes and goes? Idk at first you’ll be surprised but then get used to it. Wasn’t too happy with breakfast. Could have been better considering the price point. No sauna or hot tub. Parking is limited and we just got lucky. No drop off area for luggage/check in.

Very quirky hotel..we have stayed here before, so we knew what it was like. Staff very friendly..bedroom lacked room for suitcases..ok if you only have one suitcase..no room to put things in the bathroom…small shower head bracket was broken so had to use the larger shower. Lovely display of northern lights and we seen a seal from our bedroom window. Good breakfast.
Small shower head bracket broken so had to use larger shower head. Lack of space in bathroom to put your wash bag etc..lack of room in bedroom to put more than one suitcase.

The hotel features a distinctive historical and cultural corner, as well as an interesting simulation exhibition of fishing boat life. The rooms and public dining area are surrounded by picturesque scenery, filled with sunshine, making people feel comfortable, warm, and happy. Although the hotel does not have an elevator, they have arranged rooms closest to the parking spaces, which is very friendly for those of us with only carry-on suitcases. The nights are quiet, and even during the midnight sun, we still enjoy a good and comfortable sleep.

Unusual hotel but nice. Check in/lobby is across the street from the hotel. Lobby is part of a museum and staying at the hotel gets you free admission. The actual lobby building was a doctors home - restored - and the hotel is the hospital restored. Our room had a deck the opened out to a water view. Unfortunately, while there the weather was rain and fog. The evening dinner and breakfast at the hotel were excellent.

The hotel is located on the fjord, the view from the windows unforgettable. Room very comfortable and bigger than I expected, beds very comfortable. From the hotel there is an underground passage to the restaurant, very interesting, with wax figures representing history. The restaurant where breakfast was served was beautiful, with a terrace facing the pier overlooking the fjord. The breakfast was very good, fresh local produce and finally bread that is not "toast" :)

Lovely waterfront location. The hotel (and parking) is spread over 3 buildings which was a little confusing on arrival, but we were given a wonderful room overlooking the fjord. Great views of the water, mountains and wildlife (ducks, waders & a seal). Good food at breakfast & dinner; friendly staff.

The room was cosy, with a beautiful view over the fjord and the mountain. It had great breakfast and we saw it all snowy and in white so it was all amazing
Nothing really, except for the fact that it is a bit pricey like all Fosshotels

We had a lovely stay for two nights. Wonderful view from the room over the sea , breakfast and dinner perfect. The history of the hotel- the french hospital - and the museum about the french fishermen in Iceland made it more special. Also we had a lovely weather warm and sunny for Iceland .

Amazing location. The view of the mountains and bay was incredible. The character of the hotel was memorable. The staff was great. Drinks and conversation at the bar was enjoyable. Walk out the pier for an amazing view. We would love to return and hide for a longer visit.
