Spacious bedroom and bathroom, I was in the loft room which was lovely. They do the little things - having selection of teabags, a decent size mug to make your drink in and also some Scrumptious biscuits to look forward to with your drink in your room. My room was lovely and clean, and the bed was so comfortable to sleep in. The shower comes with different options on the shower head which was lovely option to have. They provided me a list of taxi numbers so I could book to attend a wedding being held in area. They were kind enough to provide a lunch bag for me to take on my last day abs day and on the day of my friends wedding. They were kind enough to do breakfast Earlier for me on day I was going as they were aware I was travelling early. Breakfast was lovely, great selection and would highly recommend trying the local jam they serve there. I had a meal on the day arrived which was good. All the staff were lovely and friendly - travelling alone can be difficult and they were lovely to make me feel welcome. I have severe dyslexia and struggle with anxiety and they were lovely to help me with any information/directions etc Thanks so much again

We really liked our room which was comfortable, welcoming and quiet. It was warm while we were there, but we were happy to see that a fan was already provided in the room on our arrival. Our dog also enjoyed her stay, especially because there was a bag of treats waiting for her when we arrived! It was great that she was also welcome in the restaurant and that the hotel as a whole was so dog friendly. The evening meal and breakfasts that we had were lovely and we liked that local ingredients were used in many dishes. The location is also great for exploring the area both by car and on foot, and there are many amenities in the town which are easily accessed from the hotel.

Loved the attic room. Lovely big comfy bed and bedding. Several chairs and a chaise lounge to sit on to read a book or watch tv. Fabulous bathroom with bath and loads of hot water and a big walk in shower. Free toiletries in bathroom which smelt lovely too. Great view from the room. Lovely bar area for a drink or meal.
Breakfast was ok but not as good as could of been. Plenty of choice but the hot breakfast was bit disappointing.

Very comfortable rooms. Great restaurant. Polite and helpful staff. Lovely part of Scotland. I was in the area for a gravel bike race, and there was a secure shed for me to store my bike in.
The room was a little warm despite opening the windows. It was quite expensive the weekend I booked, but several thousand people had descended on the small town for the bike race, and I was happy to pay a premium for a comfortable room in the middle of town.

Although this was a very last minute, one night only booking, and we didn't get to experience the full package right down to breakfast or dinner, the hotel 150% met our expectations. Room was spacious, clean with modern, also very clean bathroom. Couldn't have asked for better. Will definitely book The Ship Inn again should we find ourselves in the area.
If anything, the room was a tad warm, but sorted that by opening windows for a while.

Comfortable room, spotless bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were great. We had a lovely stay, great location for travelling in the area. We had an evening meal and breakfast, the food was excellent and staff were extremely helpful and friendly, would definitely stay again when travelling round the area.
Nothing, it was a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel in an ideal village setting . Very friendly staff with a genuine desire to accommodate any request made by customers.
I feel perhaps the area around the wood burner could be set up better to make that area more casual with seating for couples for pre dinner drinks. As it is at present it is geared to a party of 4 or more but perhaps that is the group size catered for in the summer.

It's not hard to see why the Ship Inn wins awards. This place is excellent. My wife & I were greeted warmly the second we arrived and that friendly and professional approach was mirrored in all of the staff we met. Our room was superb, clean, bright and very well appointed. The quality of finish reflects the high standards evident throughout this hotel. Our meal in the restaurant was top drawer. The service was amazing, the restaurant itself warm and inviting. Our food, from starter through main course, desert and cheese board was some of the finest we have eaten in some time. The ingredients were all fresh, beautifully cooked and extremely well presented. Our breakfast this morning was plentiful and enjoyable The Ship Inn is very well worth a visit and despite the high quality and outstanding service is very reasonably priced and represents excellent value for money. We cannot wait to return.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Excellent quality breakfast at good value. Evening meal was tip top too! All staff were friendly and welcoming, all requests were met with professionalism, courtesy and a smile. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Socket location in the bedroom, but I understand it is an old building converted for a modern market.

The room we had was lovely and comfortable. The meal we had for dinner was delicious as too was the breakfast. Staff were so friendly and helpful, an absolute asset to the business. I especially loved the big bath.
I can’t fault our stay. My only suggestion is a fan in the bedroom.
