The location is great for travelling in that area. The hosts are friendly, the room was adequate for my needs, very clean and the bed was comfortable. Good WIFI access. The refridgerator in the room 8 was convenient although the hostel kitchen had good facilities. I stayed in December and the room heat was easily adjustable: warm when wanted and cool at night, perfect for a good nights sleep.

The televisions seem to be programed to come on automatically. There is limited parking and when I stayed, a rain storm was coming through Scotland and part of the car park was flooded. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time though.

The property was great, I stayed for 3 nights over the New Year. Creetown is a lovely little village and Barholm is in the centre right next to a convenience store. There was a communal sitting area and kitchen. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable.

The only drawback for me was the rooms were quite noisy. You could hear every footstep from the landing / surrounding rooms. I'm a deep sleeper so not much of an issue for me but some may find it annoying. Also, very minor complaint but the towels provided in the room were very small, but again not an issue for me as I had brought my own. But overall great value for money!

Neat, clean spacious room. We booked a 6 berth room for ourselves and our three children aged 19,19 and 8. This was ideal. There was lots of space and a TV and en-suite. The common room downstairs was also spacious, clean and tidy providing an area for us to meet with other family members staying over. The kitchen was also excellent containing everything you need for your stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly and on hand each day for if you need anything. Highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely return in the future.

We've stayed here before with family. The accommodation is fantastic, and so is the area. Panny is very friendly and makes sure you have a good stay. They've added a lovely sitting room and larger kitchen since our last visit, and extra bedrooms. It's clean, well decorated and extremely comfortable, we can thoroughly recommend. The petrol station in Creetown is the cheapest for miles, and we recommend exploring the Forest area, it's fantastic.

Nothing. We will be staying again!

We received lovely, friendly messages in advance from Lisa, explaining everything we needed to know. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice, user-friendly bathroom. We also really appreciated the little chocolate welcome presents! If you're looking for good quality accommodation at a great price, Barholm is for you!

(As is so often the case) the bathroom extractor fan was quite loud

When Lisa realised that my sister would struggle with the stairs, she immediately reallocated her to a super accessible room. Then, when I asked if it was OK to stay in my campervan in the carpark, she said I too could stay in the room at no extra charge.

The directions a d photo take you to the wrong place. It took me a lot of phone calls to reach someone who could help me, despite the fact it said reception was open until 9pm and we arrived before that.

As we were a family of 4 there was nowhere to just sit as the main chair/sofa was a bed. So had to lay in bed to watch tv. Not ideal but it was ok

Lack of actual seats. But that was because we were using the only comfy seat as a bed. Also the bathroom was constantly wet. You had to keep the door closed or it sets off the smoke detector. But the extractor fan wasn't enough so the steam just stayed in the bathroom and soaked everything

Absolutely lovely place. The room was spacious and vert clean. It was super-handy having a microwave as there are not many places to eat near-by so we popped local shop. There is also a kitchen and sitting room in the main building which we popped into to wash some dishes. Itlooked very comfortable. The area is fantastic- the Galloway forest park is well worth a visit. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Located in centre of creetown, near to local shop and short cycle to cafe in the gem museum up a hill or the cafe on the nearby holiday park on the Castle Cary estate. Own room with ensuite facilities. Guest kitchen and storage shed for cycles with CCTV coverage. Close to creetown Heritage centre museum. Close to 7 stanes trail around Clatteringshaws loch and GlenTruim. Access to national cycle route 7 and off road cycle paths. Seven miles from Newton Stewart and close to A75. Path to Kirroughtree 7stanes site. Picnic tables outside Barholm building. Local craft centre at front of building open on three days a week. Quiet centre for a trip.

Access to a laundry facility and drying room would be useful but apart from that nothing.

I loved the whole room it was fantastic for my and my snd needs as had the disabled room it was ideal and lots of space to move around and the staff were so kind and helpful couldn’t fault them.

Only thing was no ramps for accessing the kitchen in the main building a few steps but I could walk a little. The bathroom needed a bit of a refresh a few wear and tear things.
