I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Burton Stone Inn. Parking was very easy, just behind the building. The room was a real surprise! It was clear a great deal of thought and planning had gone into the room and the result was a very stylish, comfortable area to relax in. The en-suite bathroom had been carefully incorporated into the room and the shower was fantastic. The bed, a four poster (a first for me!) was very comfortable and I slept very well. The property is on a road which is quite busy during the day, however it’s quiet at night and I was not disturbed even with the window open. The city centre is a 10 minute walk away with all the attractions it has to offer. The hosts were welcoming and kindly provided a guide book with map so it was very easy to enjoy some local sightseeing. I almost forgot the roof terrace - a delightful little communal area to relax in and quite the sun trap when the weather cooperates.
I was very happy with everything I experienced. There was really nothing I did not like.

The owners, Michal and Gaby, are very friendly and welcoming and very accommodating. They make you feel at home straight from the start. They know a lot about York and North Yorkshire and have provided us with very useful information about what there is to see and also which restaurants to go to. The B&B is strategically situated on the road near the town centre, at less than 10 minute’s walk. We had a lovely room with an en suite on the first floor at the front. The beds are made up daily, the bathroom is cleaned daily, it is all very clean. The pub downstairs is a hub for the locals and the guests, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is very good, English and continental. We certainly recommend the Burton Stone Inn!

The parking was really good. It was close to the attractions. The hosts were lovely, friendly and accommodating. The guy on the bar was really nice and helpful. They all sorted issues that arose as soon as they were reported. (the tv didn't work but when informed they found the arial had snapped and got someone in straight away). Breakfast was excellent
I sound like a tv addict lol, but it could be bigger. Not a problem though. A lot of quite steep steps to room 8, Fine for us but if you are not very mobile be aware and don't book this room. The bar closes at 8pm, we knew about it when we booked. It's a shame as the bar is lovely but we understand that it is not viable. It's easy walking distance to bars (but if you are there earlier stay and have a drink).

We were a day late due to ferry crossing but I did email ahead. The entrance is actually a small pub and you check in at the bar. The host was waiting for us and showed us the room and facilities. Nice and clean, new bathroom, well decorated with tea facilities and a fridge (big bonus). The rooms are not massive as this is an older converted victorian building (who modernised it from an even older building) giving it a quirky feel. I had the family room no.8 you could close off the bunk bed area if needed which would be nice if you travel with kids gives a bit more privacy. Nice small only 8 room hotel with private parking in the rear and only 6 min walk to York Minster. perfect
telephone number didn't seem to work, but maybe that was just me. A little more lighting in the upper stair well end would be helpful as the auto light didnt come on till at the other end of the short corridor. a floor sensor light would be adequate.

Lovely staff/manager, happy, helpful and considerate. Good advice on where to visit and share places on a map. Contact number given for emergency. Room a very nice size and nice decor, very nice large bathroom with all amenities, clean and a comfortable bed. Was made very welcome. Breakfast was served with a smile and was lovely, plenty to choose from. Car park was a good size and plenty of space and seemed a safe area. Smoking area much appreciated.
Sorry not able to think of anything at this time. I can be critical at times but there is nothing to be critical about our stay or how we looked after.

Room lovely very comfortable and spaciouse.Spot;lessly clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Ideally situated for walking into the city just under 10 mins walk. Was allowed to leave car in the car park after we signed out so had extra morning in York to enjoy.
Breakfast not to our liking. Bacon over cooked Not good selection of cooked items. Bedroom on the front main road so noisy early morning with traffic. Lounge area could do with spruce and tidy up. Bar closed at 8.00pm as did doors all locked by then. Although pass code provided for access would have ben nice to sit in lounge after 8.00pm having a drink

Very clean and modern room with very nice shower. Room was towards the busy road but the windows were well insulated. The hotel is a less than 10 minute walk from the York Minster. Along the way are pubs, restaurants, a bakery, and a supermarket (open until midnight). Thus, while not inside the city wall (as can be seen from the map), it is still very conveniently located; particularly great is the free parking. Parking or driving inside the city wall is challenging if not impossible for tourists. Daily housekeeping and a good spread of coffee and Yorkshire (!) tea.
The walls were a bit thin; could hear the neighbors alarm in the morning.

The location of this Inn is superb for visiting central York and free parking was a great added bonus. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. We were given a family room which had a bath and shower (lovely to have a bath after a long day sightseeing). The room was situated at the front of the Inn so we could hear the traffic but it was not excessive and certainly didn't keep us awake. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, telling us lots of useful information about things we could do in York. The hosts were extremely attentive at breakfast making sure we were satisfied which I can say we were - the main breakfast was cooked perfectly to order, there was a lovely choice, so beautifully presented and it was delicious every morning.
There was nothing we didn't like however a tip would be to pre book the times of your breakfasts for the duration of your stay when you arrive as the early time slots fill up quickly. We would have liked an earlier breakfast on our departure day but unfortunately it wasn't possible.

Everything! This accommodation has been refurbished to the highest standard. Our room was stunning. The staff as so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The location is really good, about 10/15 minutes walk into the city centre. The breakfast is lovely.A buffet of cereals, fruit and toast and then a good selection of cooked breakfasts to chose from. If you are thinking about booking this ,don't hesitate, youll not be disappointed.
I would have like the bar area to stay open later than 8pm but there are numerous bars in the city center.
