absolutely could not fault the host! a text to ask when we'd arrive and to tell us our room was ready early. on arrival, he showed/ talked us where to go, how to get to york centre etc. he had a larger room spare so gave this to us for no extra charge! carried our luggage up and down from our room and even to our taxi when we left, which he also organised for us!! he could not of been more welcoming and accommodating. we were able to leave our luggage safely with him once we'd check out and our train home wasn't until 6 hours later. we throughly enjoyed every moment of our stay so thankyou!!

The location is great. A short uber ride from the train station with our luggage. Easy walking distance into the city. The staff was fantastic. So kind and gave us lots of recommendations that made our trip great. We were in room 2 which was spacious for the two of us. Use of the kitchen was great. we would stay here again.

My only complaint was on 2 out of the 5 nights I could smell cigarette smoke very strongly at night time. I'm not sure where it was coming from as the hallway didn't smell and the windows are new and they were shut. I could smell it in the bathroom and by the head of the beds. I'm not sure if there was a vent it was coming through but it was unpleasant. We were in room 2.

The perfect place to stay at.Easy to find (I had some problems due to road works which were taking place in the city at that time (so, normal footpaths were simply closed). However as soon as i took the right direction from the train station i found the place easily.Comfortable double bed (although i was booking a room with a single bed.quiet street, still close to the town centre.2 little shops(coop and sainsbury's)in case you want to save money on food, well equipped kitchen.one of the greatest pluses:coffee machine with unlimited capsules (coffee was really perfect!) and a kettle right in rhe room!High water pressure in the shower was also also a big plus. The room was clean, modern and very warm (what is really very important in winter!By the way, you can regulate the temperature in the room by yourself.).

The only minus-not enough light in the room in general.i was keeping the main light (one bulb was missing) and a bedside lamp on when staying in the room even during the day, and it still was too dark for me.Maybe this is just my personal opinion,as i live in the light house.

I have stayed here several times it is our go to place to stay in York. Our recent stay was with my parents who both have disabilities/health conditions the owner was very accommodating to their needs. He even offered to get my father a paper in the morning. Very thoughtful. It is 15 minutes walk to city centre from the hotel. The rooms have coffee machine, kettle with tea/coffee/sugar/milk. The rooms are overall clean. The room had a shower and know at least one of the room have a bath/shower if you want to have a bathroom. The shower was powerful. Towels are supplied. There is a tv in the room which has free view and Internet access is available. The beds mattress medium to firm mattress however, I normally have a soft mattress at home however it didn't affect my sleep.

The property is situated in a peaceful neighborhood, just a 15-minute walk from both York Minster and the train station. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and well-maintained.

This is an old building with wooden floors, so footsteps are easily heard throughout. The room was extremely small, leaving no space to fully open 2 cabin-sized suitcases. The most unpleasant experience occurred on the third night when, at around 4:00 AM, I woke up to a terrible odor resembling a cesspool. I had to open the windows for about 30 minutes to let in fresh air.

We had such a warm welcome. Our room was very clean, equipped with tea, coffee, blow dryer, hand and body soap and even ear plugs which was a very nice touch but not needed as the house was quite quiet. The room was a nice size for two people, along with storage shelves and hooks. The house overall was very clean with access to the kitchen and sitting area. It is very well managed. The location was perfect for walking to the main area of York along with the distance to the rail station. We stayed two nights and came back one evening to our room decorated with balloons and confetti for my daughters 18th birthday. It was such a beautiful gesture and meant a lot to her. We wish every place we stayed at during our trip to the UK was like this one. Thank you so much our stay was perfect.

We have been travelling throughout the UK, and Viking's Accommodation has been our favourite place by far. Modern, great location and excellent attention to detail, this place does not disappoint. We loved how welcoming and friendly the staff were, and on arrival, they took the time to go through the map of York and all the best ways to visit and enjoy it. We also loved how the room came equipped with a coffee machine and biscuits, a good hairdryer, well lit bathroom, and a comfortable bed- it felt like no expense was spared on the finer details to make sure our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable. This is the only place we would stay in York and we will definitely be back.

Moss and Noah were most efficient and welcoming. They offered an early check in which allowed us to get to grips right away with enjoying and investigating York. They were informative and thorough during check in. THeir manner was friendly and helpful with a flavour of expertise which was confidence inspiring. The accomodation, although small, used space effectively and creatively, so that you wanted for nothing. Use of the kitchen and fridge was a big plus. Being able to secure parking for a modest daily fee of £5 outside the accomodation was significant in being able to manage our holiday as 'Vikings' was situationally great. The car remained safe, while within fiteen minutes we were in the heart of York . As if at home, we had the freedom to come and go, eat when we liked and saving on the expense of continually dining out. I especially enjoyed the conversational aspect with Moss and Noah, their personalities made staying at Vikings a great personal experience. They were highly efficient, yet not officious. This was as special an experience as York itseelf. Thank you to both of them.

Our accomodation was on the top floor, which in itself was a lovely, well orgaised attic space. THe last flight of stairs was challenging for an older person. However, given preference and knowledge of clients, Moss and NOah are happy to match rooms offered according to needs. We enjoyed the room very much with the lovely windows giving good light and airing. However, in future I will probably ask for any of the other rooms, due having some visual difficulty in negotiating the last flight of stairs. They carried the luggage up for us to be of help.

The location was not too bad. It was a small walk to the town centre. It was in a nice and quiet location.

I don’t have any major complaints. It was value for money and the staff were lovely, kind and helpful. The only very trivial downside for me was that my room was right at the front door and I got woken up every time someone came in the door 🤷🏽‍♀️(I had afternoon naps due to the amount of walking I was doing while in York). Wouldn’t stop me going back. If noise overly bothers you, I guess just ask for a room on one of the upper levels. Great wee place to stay and really enjoy my York visit. Can’t wait to return.

We stayed here with our 2 dogs as the ground floor room closest to front door is pet friendly and it was brilliant. Perfect for the dogs, the manager was really friendly / helpful, there is parking on the street in front of the hotel for £5.00 per 24 hours and the room is large / clean / cosy. The walk to the city is around 10-15 minutes and the area is lovely so it is a very nice walk. We will be booking again in the summer months.

Nothing to dislike - great location, very clean, friendly / helpful staff and a pet friendly room available if required.
