The important things about this hotel are very good - the service (Liam, Marcello and Jo in particular)... the quality of food in the Fish Restaurant... and the rooms themselves. For most people that should be enough, and is enough for us to come back again. This is a very good hotel with fabulous staff and amazing food and the rooms are super.

But there are some tiny tweaks they could change this from "almost very good" to "exceptional" - for example the first impression is via the car park, that has no branding and looks a bit average... the corridors to the rooms could benefit from some wall coverings to smarten them up... and to get to the bar, you have to go out of the hotel front door and turn left... which can be cold being on the loch - there must be a way to move people from the warmth of the hotel and into the bar area without getting cold?

Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings! Rooms were very comfortable with comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Loved the charm of the old building but modernized rooms. Dinner was good and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Loved the bagpipe player at sunset on the porch and the opportunity to play golf at the course next door in the morning!

For dinner my husband ordered three appetizers rather than a main. They were all brought at once and then the waiter was waiting for him to finish before bringing the mains for the other three of us, so we ended up waiting a long time for our dinners until we asked. My husband was saving some of his appetizers to eat with our main courses. There should have been better communication and understanding. View of the river was loverly from the dining room.

Cozy and spacious room, very clean bathroom, fresh towels, nice cosmetics in the bathroom, tea/coffee in the room.

Overpriced for what you get. Breakfast was included in the room and was very disappointing: most of the food is made from pre-cooked dishes or marinated; warm food (scrambled eggs/bacon) was overcooked. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and it was, unfortunately, not delicious at all. Another disadvantage is the absence of a mixer faucet (in the shower and in the sink) which makes you struggle between extremely cold and extremely hot water.

It was warm and welcoming with roaring fires and sumptuous lounges to relax in. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious with a plentiful breakfast. Two of the staff, Liam and Connel were particularly friendly, fun and attentive. They made our stay extra special with their friendly personality’s and the care they took to ensure our stay was perfect, nothing was too much trouble for them, thank you to both of them. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the setting was idyllic

Delicious breakfast with the pastries deserving of a special mention. Views from breakfast room and lounge area. History of this beautiful building and hotel. Location of this hotel is just breathtaking, they also send information in advance for meals and facilities options.

1. Room had no view at all, looked out on a wall & roof. 2. An admin error on booking had to be fixed by Bookings.com, hotel could not amend any details. Worth mentioning that it was handled in no time by Bookings.com. 3. A week after our departure the holding deposit has not been released after 2-3 days as promised at both the check in and out. When contacted I were told that only the bank can release the hold but the bank stated otherwise. This holding deposit was also not in any communication prior to our stay.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location with stunning views. Inside the hotel the deco, rooms, and dinning room are all lovely, clean, fresh and with lots of character. The beds in the room are comfortable, everything you need is in your room, and the bathroom are modern and clean. The staff are the star of the show, we received amazing service from start to finish. The reception staff were so warm and welcoming and really did go above and beyond to make are stay the best it was. The restaurant staff are so attentive, nothing was to much, so helpful, smiling and chatty. A 10 out of 10 stay. Will definitely be back & recommend. Thank you guys.

Nothing to complain about at all.

The hotel is in an Amazing spot. Our room overlooked the river. We had dinner in the dining room which was delicious. Our breakfast was included in our 1-night stay and it was so disappointing. It was a buffet style and it was so crowded as there was a bus load of tourists as well as other hotel guests. The food variety and quality weren't good. It was a real let down to our fabulous dinner the night before. There were some demanding guests, and I noticed the staff were very respectful of them and tried to help them as best they could.

Stayed here for two nights and had an absolute amazing time, reception and waiters were absolutely amazing, went out of there way to ensure we were happy and offered great service everytime. Location was beautiful with views of the snow topped mountains and Loch to the front. The hot tap gets very hot very quickly though so take caution! Very rich history, lovely architecture, close to ski resort, nature reserves and other amazing locations. Food was amazing with a buffet for breakfast and lovely dinner options! Highly recommend this hotel!

Being on the first floor you do have a view out to the walkway, with blinds open you can see passing foot traffic.

Warm welcome from the reception staff our room was ready on arrival, we were located on the first floor with a Loch view as requested, great size room, bed was huge and super comfy, bathroom was well equipped shower over the bath, we had dinner booked good choice on the menu food was good and well presented, breakfast is Buffet style plenty of choice, just missing porridge on the first morning, it came out just as we had finished, good quality products, plenty of choice from continental to full Scottish.

The Hotel was having renovations that we were not made aware of, so our view of the Loch was slightly impaired by scaffolding, aside from that nothing.

- exterior looks quite grand - our bedroom was enormous with big windows and our bed was at least a king size - view on Loch Linnhe - we played board games in the living room which had a very Scottish charm - highlight for me were the 2 friendly and chatty waiters at dinner, always with a smile - bar staff do a mean Negroni

- the welcome was a little cold as we could not check in yet and lunch took a little while until the food arrived - food quality overall could have been a little better but I still ate most of what I ordered
