Small enough for personal service. WiFi Good selection for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Remote controlled fan, instead of air-con. Room 1 is a generous size, but there are steps into the bathroom. Road got busy with frequent tractors, so I closed the window. Petrol is available within Longtown.

No dedicated parking, but I was able to park quite close. No food available in the cafe after lunch. (Chinese, pizza, fish n chips, pub food available and a Spar, in walking distance) (Some closed on Monday and Tuesday)

We booked the king room and very spaceous and good choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and latte in the room. bed was very comfortable and bathroom and bath very clean and spaceous. was on a main road but no noise from passing traffic. we spent three nights here and had a really good stay for our sons wedding just down the road at hidden river cabins. full english breakfast and vegetarian option for my wife was really nice. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and will be booking again as a stop over on out trips up scotland to visit family. Also a very good antique place just over the road which has some real bargains, regret letting the wife loose in the place lol. SPAR over the road for snacks or anything else and a couple of pubs within a hundred yards. fish and chip shop very close and chinesse just over the road so everything you could possibly need.

everything was really nice, nothing really was wrong with the place. its not the ritz but for a village B&B you cant get much better.

Location was excellent for attending a wedding at the Hidden River Barn. We had a light lunch in the cafe before we went to the wedding (excellent) & a freshly cooked full English breakfast which was delicious. Although on the main road there was very little traffic at night & sleep was undisturbed. We were also able to check in early so that we could get ready for the wedding. They also suggested a great taxi firm for transport- ‘Glitter Taxi’.

Nothing- it was ideal for us

The room was so very toasty warm! Just what you need when the first frost and fog of winter arrives. The room was very large with a four-poster bed. It was spotlessly clean, and I'm guessing the immaculate bathroom is a recent upgrade. There were loads of tea, coffee milk sachets, a bottle of water, a mini mints pack, and an individual toiletry pack too. They thought of everything. I asked for a 7.30am breakfast, which was no bother and cheerfully provided. Along with juices and cereals too. Excellent value for money.. if it was on four in a bed? It'd win on value for money!! Owners should be proud of themselves.

The only thing I didn't like was the bedding. My pet peeve is lots of throw cushions on my bed, but that's down to personal choice.

We stayed in Longtown 1 night because we wanted a break of journey near M6. We were warmly welcomed by the host who showed us our room. The room was far more comfortable than expected with plenty of space, good bed, good bathroom and lots of little extras eg bottled water, holiday pack (shampoo, shower gel, emery boards, comp, sewing kit etc), flip flops. The breakfast included a good selection and was well cooked. Good wi-fi, easy on-street parking. Fairly quiet room. Hotel serving good pub food nearby. Essential shops and a post office are nearby. Very reasonable price.

Longtown appears to have seen better times and has fewer shops and facilities than one might expect for a place of this size. Mind your head on some of the doorways if you're tall.

Full English Breakfast was not for the faint hearted - you didn’t need any more til night time. Food well cooked, fruit juices, cereals to choose and plenty of tea. Room very comfortable, plenty of seating as well. Ensuite with bath as well as shower. Loved the little welcome packs

Would have loved car park on site and evening meals but that’s us being picky. Really nothing we didn’t like, staff so friendly and accommodation first class

Lovely, big spacious room and bathroom. Four poster bed was incredibly comfortable. Lots of free street parking in front and the side of the building. Delicious big generous breakfast included. Johnny was a great host and cook. The area is close to Gretna and Hadrian’s Wall but more laid back and local. Some cracking local pubs for drinks and dinner. I had a very relaxing stay.

Nothing.

Everything was fab. It was a hot night and there was a remote controlled fan in our room - a first in my experience and a wonderful surprise. The room and bathroom were large - with a big bath and big fluffy towels and flannels. Again much appreciated and it is rare that flannels are provided. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous - lots of choice and beautifully cooked and presented.

Nothing - The Sycamore Tree had everything we wanted - and more.

This was my third stay at the Sycamore as I explored football grounds in the area and once again I was delighted with the place. The facilities, people and food remain of a consistently high quality. The Black and White Room is a marvelous space. I always leave with sadness but also with anticipation for the next visit!
