The breakfast was wonderful. The location is right across from the city gates to enter the old walled city, and the views from the rooms are quite charming. We had a great stay here!

We arrived in the morning and were hoping to be able to stow our luggage in the hotel even though we were too early to check in, but there was no one available in the lobby to talk to for quite a long time. The reception is supposed to be open 24/7, but we found this wasn't always the case. Eventually someone did come that we could talk to, and they were very kind to keep our luggage for us until our official check in.

The location of the Hostal could not be more central. We visited in mid-October and so the weather can be unpredictable, but we were lucky with just blustery winds and only a little rain. It’s the highest provincial capital city in Spain; higher than Snowdon by 50 or so metres! The hotel is run efficiently with an excellent, simple breakfast included in the price and very clean rooms. We’ll definitely go back as there’s so much to see in Ávila. An hour and a half in the Cathedral was nothing like enough. Beware of the verracos you might hear a great noise inside them if you listen closely.......You’ll find out what I mean in the Santo Tomé Museo.

Nothing to dislike.

We had the double rooms with view of the city wall which was amazing. Clean and comfortable, great value .Buffet breakfast was very good. The staff were helpful and very kind and the hotel restaurant was nice. The menu del dia had great choices and was a good price. Much appreciated the very hard working people Location obviously fantastic.

Some young children seemed to have been left unattended and were making a lot of noise in the early hours of the morning. Obviously not the fault of the Hostal. Walls a bit thin as I could clearly hear my neighbour snoring! I would definitely stay again though.

perfect location, right outside walls and 5-10 min walk from all major sites. We had double room with city view and it was great, large comfy bed, fantastic views, fan etc. breakfast was a little basic, and the same every day, but it had all we needed staff very friendy, if you are checking in after 9 pm need to get in touch in advance and sort keys etc, but this was clearly explained.

wonderful freshly-squeezed orange juice at breakfast. good location. comfortable overall.

thin walls, therefore flushing of pipes for bathrooms caused a racket. just have to hope that everyone keeps it down between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am..

The hostal is in a perfect location opposite the entrance to the city walls. We received a relaxed and friendly welcome , the hostal has a really nice atmosphere and the breakfast was really good.

The fixtures, fittings and decor are a bit tired and it’s a little bit noisy but it was Saturday night.

The property was in a terrific location across from one of the main entrances to the walled town. They offered a very nice breakfast selection. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly along with the woman who set up the breakfast.

The room was a little small and the shower also

The views they advertise are accurate- the location is perfect for exploring or just sitting and watching. The food there was some of the best in town. The breakfast had all you would want with good bread options and some protein/ Iberian ham. The staff was great giving options and secrets including of where to park and where to go

Parking was distant. We were there during a hot time and the sun shone so hard that the room gets hot forcing the thick door on the window with the view to be kept closed tightly until night.

The location was superb, right outside the fortification walls. It is a budget hotel but the services were adequate and the location was excellent for the low price. Everything was clean and adequate.

I would have liked a kettle in the room.

Location was ideal. Breakfast was nice.

There was a lot of noise during the night. Other guests returned late and their plumbing must have gone through our room. The 4pm check-in meant we couldn't rest after our travels.
