Beautiful old world setting and buildings steeped in history. Lovely reception, staff was very warm, friendly, and incredible helpful-especially Francesca! The dinner was lovely, breakfast was simple but good and the original Medieval bar next door is not to be missed! That being said, the hotel location is complicated to find- you are just outside the heart of Sintra- which is conveniently within walking distance- but the roads are very challenging and crowded. Map it out in advance as any mapping apps you might use will have just enough of a lag for you to miss crucial turns. Once that happens, it's a 20-30 minute lap around the entire town again due to one-way traffic. Once you actually find the hotel, pull into the first driveway (carefully!), unload your car, then proceed down below to the amble parking area. The hotel was very gracious in letting us stay in their lot for the day so we could finish exploring.

Convenient location, pretty views, pretty rooms, really nice bathroom. Best part was Shahadat. He was so friendly and helpful, and went out of his way to make me comfortable, including showing me all the best spots on the property to see the view. Really nice guy. He helped me carry my bags as well which was so appreciated! As a solo traveler with a disability, lugging bags, even a backpack, around is often the hardest part. The food at the restaurant was pretty good as well. The grounds were beautiful.

I found the man working at the restaurant rude and some of his comments insulting and condescending. This is not within the property’s control, but the road getting there is a little intense. Traffic goes both directions but it’s only big enough to fit one car. The hill between the parking lot (free for guests) and the hotel is very steep, so leave your bags at the hotel before parking.

The thing we most loved about our stay was the location, the Quinta is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the historic centre of Sintra, nestling amongst lush and very long-established gardens with a timeless, back-to-nature feel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the whole place is atmospheric and peaceful. We weren't able to enjoy the garden due to wet weather but would be lovely later in the season.

The breakfast was fairly minimal and not good value. The rooms look great, very stylish and quirky, but no hangers and no drawers to unpack properly. I would have liked more than one pillow each although I'm sure they would have provided had we asked.

The Place was fantastic, located just above the historic centre with free parking. Carolina and her staff were so helpful. They really couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort throughout and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The hot breakfast was very tasty too, accompanied by some beautiful peacocks wandering around outside. I really wouldn't hesitate to book here the next time that I come to Sintra, for the lovely rooms and to finish the chats with Carolina and her colleagues! Also, the medieval bar next door was also fantastic

The only real issue that we had on checking in, was that we had to arrive quite late, after the staff had left, and the instructions for one of our group to stay in the adjacent room to the hotel wasn't very clear. I would advise that that particular room is clearly marked as number 8 to avoid further confusion another time.

The location is excellent, given it’s a 5 min walk from one of the main attractions, Quinta da Regaleira. One of the staff stood out for me, Shahadat, for the way he went out of his way to address the WiFi issue. It is one to have poor reception, but another to completely not have WiFi in this day and age. The setting of the Hotel in magical.. uphill, in the forest, the scent and sounds are so inducing of peace and tranquility.. The property is truly beautiful. Also I would add the room needs not more, it plentiful enough and sufficiently coherent in terms of furniture and decorations. I would also applaud the cleaning staff for the excelent standards kept everyday during my stay. The towels and bedding are in impeccable shape and the engraved bed spreads and towels add a unique touch.

All in all the experience was pleasant, main two points that I feel should be worked on is : WiFi connectivity in the rooms The noise you might encounter from fellow guests and the restaurant/terrace below.

Location is super if you want to be surrounded by nature and not too far from the higher area of Sintra. We used public transport and UBER to get around. Don't bother driving yourself, traffic and parking is crazy. Staff helpful and SUPER friendly. FAB pub behind the hotel for drinks and a good night out. You might need the earplugs they give you but definitely worth the stay. Cosy, BIG room under the roof decorated in antic authentic style.

If you catch a cold day in Sintra, our room had no heating. Luckily, we're not people to get cold fast. Our friends had breakfast and we were glad we opted out. Could be of better quality.

Nice calm area, with a nice garden to have a snack or drink. But still right next to the city center (10min walk). We had a spacious room. They have parking and allowed us to park past check out that was much appreciated given the town chaos.

The breakfast was rather basic The floors of the room were dirty (lots of dust and hair), only a used hand soap left for us We would have appreciated some heads up about how hard it is to get to the hotel and how long it takes (45mins for 2-3km due to the traffic jams and chaos), and more detailed instructions how to reach it and probably a better organisation parking wise with some instructions ahead too, it was quite stressful.

We loved the surroundings and peacefulness of the resort. The room was large and what we expected. The staff were wonderful and very accomodating.

Lighting at bathroom mirror was terrible and needs improvement. Irons should be in the room and 1 pillow for each guest is not adequate on the bed. I requested extras and did request an iron and these items was delivered promptly, however, an ironing board was not provided. The 13 euro per person breakfast was mediocre but the coffee and fresh squeezed juice was exceptional.

The staff deserves the extra credit because they do go the extra mile for you, from reception to restaurant we have been experiencing a guided tour through the country and it’s culinary treats. The must see suggestions for natural beauties and the culinary advice were top!! Hotel has very good mattresses and quality pillows, clean and good towels every day and a safe parking lot ( paid) . Breakfast was totally worth the money. Proximity to centre is a plus.

The unexpected early visits of beautiful peafowl 🦚… I’m not a fan but everyone around me loved them

We cannot sing the praises of this place enough. The location is a scenic walk from the old city center, but separate enough to be a relaxing, Sintra oasis. The grounds are magically gorgeous. Every single person who works there went above and beyond to make sure our experience was as wonderful as possible. The rooms are all beautifully designed and exceptionally comfortable. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

Absolutely nothing. The singular issue we had was addressed quickly and completely. We will dream about coming back here for a long time to come.
