Mohamed is a great and very professional host, always responsive and kind, provides helpful information and goes above / beyond in all aspects. The riad is located in the middle of the old Medina, all sites are within walking distance and there are decent dining options nearby. Parking is conveniently close and inexpensive. Breakfast is plenty with nice assortment. The room is spacious and generally clean.

Walls, doors, windows are not noise insulated - if neighbors are loud, an earplug comes handy. Also, blankets are not provided by default - ask for some if you stay in cooler months. The upstairs room we stayed in has a toilet / shower that is less authentic and feels like a compromise when converting the place to a hotel. The sewage system is probably old and can produce occasional bad smell in the shower area..

Mohamed at Casa Espanyola is very kind and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed, safe, comfortable, and well cared for. He always had a friendly smile and was by far the most helpful host of any place I've stayed. He welcomed us warmly when we arrived and explained notable sights to see in Fes and things to do. He also checked in multiple times during our stay to ensure we enjoyed our time here. He woke up at 4 in the morning to walk my friends to their taxi to ensure they got to their airport safely and on time and waited past breakfast hour to accommodate me. Furthermore, Mohamed can also help you arrange trips and tours in Fes, including within the medina and outside of the Medina, including the beautiful Jnan Sbil garden, the door of the palace of the king, the streets of Jewish, the two castles, ceramic factories, and the tannery. You can also ask him about tours around Morocco, such as Merzouga, Meknes, Chefchaouen, and Middle Atlas. The beds here were the most comfortable beds I slept on in Morocco. The whole place was extremely clean and beautiful. It was a pleasure to stay here for our last two nights in Fes. The place is close to the main streets of the medina and there are many restaurants nearby.

Nothing!

My experience with La casa espanyola was perfect. It’s very comfortable, clean and located in a perfect position, not difficult to find. The room was clean, everything was on point, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The breakfast was unforgettable, good pastries and typical moroccan food. The staff is amazing, Mohamed is the kindest host i’ve ever met. He answered immediately to our texts, found solutions to our problem and was always there to help us, every hour of the day. He was always smiling and caring to his guests, for example he only put background music for breakfast when everyone was awake. He came pick us at the beginning of the street to show us the way and explained us the main points to see.

We spent 2 nights in this riad and we did not regret it. The hospitality was really impressive thanks to our incredible host Mohammed, who was always available in order to assist us and guide us accordingly. There wasn't a wide choice of food for breakfast, but we tasted some traditional Moroccan delicacies. The WiFi was satisfying.

The rooms were not in the best possible condition and must be renovated, at least the bathrooms. If you have a car, you need to park it in a different place, about 6-7 minutes on foot from the accommodation (ask the host about it).

This was actually our second time at La Casa Espanyola and it was just as wonderful as the first time. We were welcomed by Mohamed, who was extremely kind and welcomed us with a delicious cup of Moroccan tea. We sat down in the middle of the Riad as he drew us a map of Fes to help guide us through the city. We could also text him on Whatsapp with questions if we had any, which was super helpful. After this we were led to our spacious and superclean hotel room (special mention for the pillows: they were very comfortable) and we were able to unwind before we explored the city. Location wise it was perfect, just a few minutes to Bab Boujloud which leads you directly into the souk. It's our favourite Riad in Fes as it is safe, comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the staff was extremly kind and helpful. Definitely going back to this place :)

This is not necessarily a negative thing, but you can't park your car in front of the door. You can park down the street for 20 dirham, and from there it's a 2 minute walk to the Riad :)

The place was beautiful and beds were comfortable. They were very generous with breakfast. Lovely staff, had some really nice conversations with them. It’s a shame our stay in fes was so short, we would’ve liked to spend more time at this hotel/riad.

We arrived late night and so was a bit hard to get to for someone who wasn’t familiar with the place. But it’s close by to the medina and attractions, so was worth it.

The owner Mohammed was just wonderful, he was so welcoming, hospitable and kind and you could really tell he cared about making sure you had a nice stay at his casa. He spoke great english and took time to explain the Tourist hotspots around Fes. The location of the casa was great, close to the Medina but far enough away for a quiet stay

I didn’t like that you had to give back the keys to your room everytime you left the premises and ask for them everytime you wanted to re-enter your room. Not sure if this is a standard thing or not?

the staff was great, very helpful and welcoming. The beds very confortable and the room was very clean. The parking was not far from the Riad whilst being still in the middle of the Medina.

Breakfast could be improved (natural juice for example) Bathroom decoration could also be improved by changing to a traditional decoration as in other Riads

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. They arranged us the excursion to Volubillis and Meknes, which was great. Very nice driver / guide.

Air-conditioning in the room was working a little strange on heating mode, so it has troubled us a little bit.
