This hostel really took our trip from a great one to an amazing one. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there were daily activities planned. We were there for Dia de Muertos and a few weeks prior to our arrival the hostel messaged me with options for additional activities during the week ran through a partnering company. My husband and I signed up for one and it was the highlight of our trip. The hostel itself was very clean and inviting. We had a private room right off the lobby, initially we were worried but it was very quiet and peaceful. The rooftop bar and nightly activities were such a bonus!

The only thing we didn't like was the mattress - it was too firm. But after staying at other places in Mexico this seems to be the norm

The people were very nice and they organized very nice trips to the main locations. I enjoyed to meet other Viajeros it is a great community!

The Wifi was very bad.

The hostel is in a great location and has a nice vibe - the rooftop bar is a particularly great place to hangout. I thought the room was clean and the lockers under the beds can fit a lot of luggage. There were plenty of activities and experiences that you could sign up to if you wanted to, I thought the Luche Libre was a great night out. The staff were really friendly and Kaori on the frontdesk was particularly helpful when I had questions. Overall a great place to stay in Oaxaca.

The wifi reception was almost non-existent in the room, even though I was right next to reception. I spoke to others who had the same problem - though there are multiple networks around the building.

We had a private room and it was huge! Lots of space to explode, which we needed since this was our last stop and we had so much stuff to pack. The rooftop terrace has great views and really good food.

Our room was right beside the small kitchen and we woke up to some incredibly loud banging at around 5am. I thought they were doing some weird renovations or plumbing. Turns out someone was trying to open cans of food with a hammer. It was very strange. But that's hostel travel for ya! No staff around to step in. The room was warm and stuffy. There was a fan but no air flow from outside, since the window and door just open up to the hallway.

Really fab hostel, loved the location and the amenities they had on offer. The rooftop is stunning. We stayed in a private room and it was cleaned everyday, more like a hotel than a hostel. They provided bottles of filtered water in our room each day too. The decor is so nice and vibrant. The beds were extremely comfy. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca. They have happy hour on the roof and they do welcome drinks for new guests too.

The WiFi was quite patchy in different areas, which wasn’t too much of a problem for me as I had an eSIM but that’s the reason I am not giving the place 10/10! I felt a little chastised for not wanting to participate in all the welcome drinks games, which makes things a little less fun!

Roof top is beautiful to chill or meet other travellers. Hostel is doing meetups, so travellers can hang out together. The bed was comfy enough and there is a socket, night lamp and fan in every bed, also a curtain for privacy. Also, there is a big locker under the bunk bed for each traveller, big enough to store your backpack or suitcase. The room has a private bathroom which I thought was a big plus. Hot water and water pressure were fine. The room is a 4 bed mixed dorm and has 2 big windows which you can open and wake up with natural sunlight in the morning and which also provides the room with fresh air.

The room is narrow, no space to move or sit, only good to sleep. As room is located right next to the roof top, you can hear music and people talking, however only till 11pm, so that was absolutely fine.

Incredible hostel, one of the best I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve travelled all over USA, Europe and Southeast Asia. Comfy bed with private fan, full curtains, socket, room had its own bathroom, social, 24h reception, lots of space, great food with dietary options, drink specials, interesting and knowledgeable tours organised by Daniel. I’m staying the Viajero Puerto Escondido, Lima and Cusco since my experience was so good. When I come back I would definitely stay at Viajero Oaxaca. Unmatched value for money. Thanks so much team for making my stay a highlight of my trip!

Loved the reception area with lots of places to hangout and chill. The storage area had lots of room to leave belongings. The upstairs bar was manned excellently and it had nice vibes. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly during my stay. The dorm bathroom was clean with hot water. Plus my bed was really comfortable and had lighting, sockets and a fan. Good value for money.

Initially I was assigned a top bunk despite sending a message for a bottom bunk. However the situation was quickly sorted by reception. The dorm I was assigned was fine apart from a dodgy lock on the door meaning the bathroom was permanently locked throughout the night and the following morning.

Beautiful building and gorgeous design The room is big and the bathroom was very big Clean and comfortable, with cleaners coming every day to freshen The rooftop bar was stunning at sunset Food in the bar was delicious Free drink on the welcome night Fun events throughout the week but no pressure to attend Really nice chilled atmosphere throughout the hostel

The towels were clean, but as white towels go they were clearly old and a bit grey with some stains The only windows in the room face onto the corridor so you have to keep the curtains closed to have privacy
