Sofia and Rocio were so nice and helpful and friendly! They made our stay extra enjoyable. We loved the breakfasts and sitting up on the terrace (with 360 views) at all times of day. Loved having the tapas, bread and other treats available. Liked the simple décor. The service was great. We liked being slightly off the more touristy streets but very close. Most places are walkable. They helped with reservations at Boulenc restaurant and with taxis and gave other suggestions. And, always with a smile. Note: there are no B&B signs, that we noticed at least) so make sure you pay attention to where you are when arriving. The door with keypad is between their store and the restaurant - the bakery is to the left of the restaurant. You could miss the B&B if not looking hard.

The room (#6 facing the street) was great but there was one noisy night with people celebrating until near sunup. The rest of the nights were quiet and they provide earplugs bedside even. The fans were a bit loud so we were warm at night. Otherwise, we never heard people in other rooms so very soundproof.

An amazing boutique hotel in a great location close to all the sites in Centro. The complimentary breakfast and tapas was fabulous; fresh bread, pastries, pickles and spreads plus cooked eggs if requested. The restaurant, deli, bakery attached to the hotel is making incredible food so we were very spoiled with both the food that was included and available for purchase. Room was large and well appointed and the rooftop deck has amazing views and seating areas to relax and unwind from a day of sightseeing. My husband and I had some drinks upstairs one night and one of the staff brought up small charcuterie plate for us, which was unexpected and so thoughtful. Can't speak highly enough of the staff.

Because you are in a prime location in Centro, there can be some noise from the street below in terms of traffic, construction and bar activity at night. This personally did not bother us but we did utilize the complimentary ear plugs provided on a few nights ;)

Everything! We are not usually luxury travelers, prioritizing convenience and function above more elevated lodgings. But Boulenc was an incredible experience, especially for the price. The whole space, including our room and the roof terrace, is gorgeous. The breakfast and mid-afternoon tapas are exceptional, to say nothing of the priority access to their restaurant downstairs. And the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, planning ahead so we could take coffee and pastries to-go on days we had to leave for a tour before the official start of breakfast. Location is close to everything. Couldn't recommend more highly.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the surrounding area can be loud until fairly late - but not surprising given its central location. Just something to be aware of. Closing the bathroom door and running a fan can help mitigate

Boulenc is a really special place with attention to detail at every turn including fresh flowers in the room. Incredible bread and pastries for breakfast, the best coffee ever and amazing kefir. The staff are all so lovely, helpful and welcoming. The roof terrace is peaceful with expansive views across the city and our room was very comfortable & clean. The whole place felt like home even for a short stay.

It's a teeny bit noisy at night from the street but to be expected for such a central location - the room was so comfortable and the hotel supplied ear plugs. Everything else makes up for a bit of noise.

The boutique hotel that’s more than a hotel. From the outside, it looks unassuming. But once you step inside, it’s an oasis of local artworks, a reception of baked goods and fruit (all free), and a fabulous rooftop with great views of Oaxaca. Our room was comfortably appointed with local handcrafted goods and welcome snacks. If you’re sensitive to noise, you may occasionally be bothered by sounds outside. But we slept well throughout our stay. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating as well. Added bonus of shop, bakery, restaurant, and bar that’s part of BOULENC. Very cute spot that reflects the growing ambitions in Oaxaca.

Really hard to find any faults. Perhaps the only complaint would be the water pressure of the showers, but that’s so minor compared to everything else that’s wonderful about BOULENC.

We had a fantastic time at Boulenc Bed & Bread. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in and the exceptional staff go above and beyond. The location is fantastic and the roof terrace where you can enjoy breakfast and drinks throughout the day is great. The colours and styling of the hotel are just perfect so for anyone looking for a boutique hotel in Oaxaca, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Boulenc.

The only thing that may not be ideal for all guests is the street noise. We knew this upfront so it didn’t bother us and the hotel provides earplugs but for people who are very sensitive to noise, it could be an issue.

The breakfast and terrace are absolutely amazing and make the stay very worth it. It's very good value. You'll get nice views, comparable to the ones from a rooftop restaurant, but with a bit more privacy since there will only be a few other guests. The evening tapas and snacks throughout the day (in the kitchen area and fridge) are also excellent and similar to the breakfast offerings. The preserved goods (jams, pickled veggies, olives) are the same ones available for purchase in the shop (Suculenta) next door. The rooms were also great and very comfortable. The staff are very kind and helpful in arranging airport and other transportation if needed (shoutout to Paul, he's the nicest). We also used the laundry service and it was great. Location is central, convenient, and safe.

The hot water for the shower was briefly not working in our room, but the staff addressed it promptly so it was a non-issue. The noise from the restaurant is a bit loud at night (every day but Tuesday), but earplugs are provided in the rooms.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! When we arrived we were greeted by a smiling face as well as a delicious anniversary tart and welcome drink. All throughout our stay though everyone helped to make things relaxing and enjoyable :) The breakfast and tapas were both amazing, especially when enjoyed on the beautiful rooftop. The location was perfect for walking all around the central area(s) of town, and when we wanted to visit some of the nearby pueblos as well the staff helped us to arrange transportation. The rooms were super comfortable and well decorated, plus the whole hotel smells great haha! It really was an absolutely wonderful place to stay!!

We loved everything! One tiny thing to know before you arrive is that the room key can be a little tricky because of how the really cool big wooden doors are set up haha It wasn't a negative at all, just something to note in terms of getting in and out of your room. The great thing is that it's so safe and tucked away (plus adults only) that we ended up leaving our door unlocked when we would hang out on the roof, which was a really nice feeling.

First and foremost: the location. Situated right between Santo Domingo and the Zocalo, you’re no more than a 5 min walk from anywhere you want to go. The room and hotel are very tastefully decorated. We found the bed very comfortable, and the welcome pastries and mezcal were a lovely touch to help us ease into our stay. The food! Absolutely stunning. I work at a well known French patisserie back home, so I’m no stranger to high quality baked goods. The bread and pastries here blew my socks off. Seriously, among the tastiest I have had anywhere in the world. You absolutely must try the sourdough. But my personal favorite was the variety of homemade pickles! The complimentary continental breakfast was leagues and leagues above any that I have ever had at another hotel, and the privacy and serenity of dining on the rooftop terrace with the spectacular city views only made it that much better! Every member of the team that we interacted with during our short stay was extremely pleasant, friendly, courteous, and professional. Can’t say enough good things about this place, highly, highly recommend and we will certainly be returning when we come back to Oaxaca.

Although very beautiful, the design of the bathroom is not especially functional. The rain shower right next to the toilet without any sort of partition in between means that the toilet gets soaked every time you take a shower. This wasn’t a big deal to us, we just wiped it down with a towel and you’re good to go. But for how thoughtful and intentional the rest of the design features appear to be, this is a bit of a goofy error.

This place exceeded my expectations and I was wowed as soon as I arrived! I loved everything the decoration, the rooftop and the pastries and snacks for guests. Staff were great and went above and beyond to ensure guests were happy and I loved the welcome cakes and bottle of mezcal. I'd recommend eating at their restaurant - guests can reserve directly at reception. I admit being a light sleeper I was quite nervous about the reports of noise from bars, but I didn't have any significant issues with the noise by running the fans and wearing the provided earplugs (maybe white noise machines could be provided just in case).

Nothing!
