The hostel is tidy, offers a pleasant breakfast, and is generally cozy. It's great for conversing and meeting new people. The terrace is especially delightful.
At night, I intended to leave to meet some people, but the door was locked. Eventually, a staff member unlocked it, though they were unfriendly. I understand it was 1 am, but I disliked that it was closed. I believe leaving the hostel should be possible at any hour.

A private bathroom with 2 showers, 2 toilets, and 2 sinks for a 6-bed shared room is wonderful! The breakfast is simple but healthy, with a small plate of fresh fruits, eggs, bread with butter and jam, and a cup of tea or coffee. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean, the beds are comfortable, and there’s plenty of seating on each floor. The location is perfect too—within walking distance to the church, museum, square, and everything else.
The toilet paper dispenser sometimes got stuck, and there’s no door for the bathroom. It’s fine if you’re staying in an all-female or all-male room and people are easy-going. You don’t have a key for the main gate, so if you return to the hostel late, you might need some luck to have someone come by and open the gate for you.

The location and the outstanding customer service of the ladies. They gave the extra mile everysingle day. I saw them help guests even after their shift was over. Also, the breakfast included is pretty good and helps you star the day. The do have hot water in ghe showers and the wifi is great!
The female bunk bedroom was always so hot and stank because it lacks ventilation. They have a small fan and air conditioner, but it's simply not enough. They need to open windows and let some air in. Also, I was expecting some curtains on the bunk beds for privacy 😅 I made my own with towels and a pashmina. Water pressure in the shower could be better too. The place lacks a sense of hostel community, there are no activities for the guests to mingle or to learn (yoga class, karaoke night, salsa lesson, locals teaching and selling their art). The blue light in the kitchen is terrible, gave me hospital vibes (I wasn't the only guest that thought so). A simple switch to white or warm light can improve the atmosphere so much.

I’ve ended up staying at Las Americas for almost two weeks during my stay in Oaxaca. The hostel is pretty quiet, you can easily find a place to spend some time by yourself or to do some work. However, you can also easily meet other travellers - I’ve done some great encounters here. They have a beautiful top terrace full of plants, a terrace on the ground floor and another one facing the street on the first floor. The beds in the dorms are very comfortable and everything is very clean. The wifi was strong in the room, however a bit spotty in other areas of the hostel. The location is perfect, it is in the city centre just a few blocks from the zocalo and I’ve always felt very safe. The staff was very kind and helpful. You also get free breakfast in the morning with fruit, bread, eggs, te and coffee. I will happily go back when I return to Oaxaca :)
There is a bar right next door and you can hear the loud music from the dorm. However, on most nights it stopped around midnight. I used ear plugs and those helped me to sleep well.

The location is excellent, the price was good. The bed was comfy. The staff help you to contact tours (not really overpriced), the transport to go to others cities and they advice you to visit other places not all the time trying to sell the tours like other hostels do telling you that is complicated or not very safe to arrive the place.
The female room doesn't have a door to separate the bathroom and the bedroom, so at night or very early in the morning if you turn on the lights in the toilets is uncomfortable for people sleeping. Also is a little bit noisy, you can hear all the conversations in the reception.

Amazing location in the center of the city. There are plenty of common-use space where one can relax or work. Shared rooms have private shower and toilet. Wifi was good all over the hotel. Lockers are inside the rooms and are bog enough to keep your belongings safe.
The hotel is an area where there are many bars and club so it can be noise at night. The shared had too many beds to my taste, I was lucky that not many beds were occupied while I stayed there.

THE BEST: genuinely lovely, amazing staff. They really care and help when you need it! I'm gonna miss you guys!! The place was always clean, beds are comfy. Good breakfast with bread, coffee, eggs, and fruit.
The room (female dorm) is pretty crowded - could do with less beds, I think instead of 8 should be 6 in the small space. It can also get really hot in there if it's a full house. Lockers were in the bathroom which was a bit strange. But overall you get value for money.

The staff and guests were so friendly. Some stayed some weeks/month to work or make spanish courses. Its the kind of hostel i like. More familystyle not so anonymous. If you are a bad sleeper maybe be aware. There is a karaokebar at the other side of the street. I didnt mind. It gave some Mexicofeeling to me. The breakfast is included with 2 slice of toast, egg!, fruits and coffee. Nice to save money. Greetings again to everybody, loved my stay there!!! <3

Breakfast was good. There were 2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks for the room for 6 dorm beds. The location is very central
The place is quite close to noisy clubs and bars. The room is quite small for 6 beds. It’s connected to the bathroom so you could hear everyone using the bathroom. It was very warm at night and we could not figure out how to switch on the AC
