The Breakfast was very good. Very happy with it. The staff also were polite and did well for such a large number of guests that they had to deal with. They had some top names playing in the hotel at night time and it was free for guests. A shuttle bus into Killarney and from Killarney back to the hotel is supplied by the hotel at a cost of €2 each way. (Downside the last shuttle bus is at 17.30, after that it is random up to 12.00 hrs). My wife used the Beauty Saloon in the hotel and she was very pleased with the service there. She also liked one of the members of staff from the Salon who only recently started there. I think her name began with a D????
In their booklet in the bedrooms I didn't like all the rules and regulations and there were quite a lot of them (Do's and Don'ts). They even had a part where they had a dress code and that was decided by management. We got a room with a balcony thinking that it could be used for smoking but that was not allowed. (I can handle that) The bed was not the most comfortable.

We arrived quite late after a very long drive and were checked in by a very friendly and pleasant young lady who explained the details of the hotel to us. Our room was clean and comfortable and provided everything that was needed for our stay. The housekeeping team were excellent, the little personal touches were noted and appreciated!! Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty with a good choice of foods available.
While the quality and variety of food available at breakfast was excellent, the breakfast experience as a whole was not a pleasant one. This is a big, busy hotel. As such, you are required to book your breakfast time slot. Even with this, we still had to queue for an available table, the breakfast space was crowded and much too small for the number of people attempting to get fed, the queue for cooked food was very long and it was difficult to get to foods that were blocked off by queueing guests. People waiting for toasters, pancakes etc made it very difficult to move about the breakfast space. As this hotel is attached to the NEC, be prepared for event noise late into the evening. Request a quieter room if noise is an issue for sleep.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful facilities. The buffet breakfast was amazing, from cereals, fruit, ranges of bread products, pankcjes, croissants, juices cooked Irish breakfast A shuttle bus available to take you into Killarney town which I thought was very handy.
The bar menu I felt was very over priced for what was on the menu, for example a beef dinner similar to what you would get for a carvery lunch was €24.50 which really should priced at €17.00 it was served with a very small bowl of broccoli, carrots & 1 scoop of mashed potato.

The kids entertainment was fantastic. Everyone at reception was exceptionally helpful. The waiting staff in O'Ds were so lovely welcoming and great with the kids also
Just a few things the food a breakfast, I went up twice and they were out of certain foods. In O'ds we were waiting over an hour for food l, other families came in a good half our after us and were given their food first and when we got our steaks which were 35 euro each they were cooked well done and we ordered medium. Which was a huge disappointment as we couldn't wait for it to be corrected as we waited so long. And the kids needed bed. Other than that it was brill and we would return again.

An excellent breakfast, I like the buffet style, where you are served by a staff member. Lots of choice available. The cold water taps at the end of the corridor and the plastic flask in the room is a great idea. A shuttle bus is available for a spin into Killarney town. The Gleneagle is doing a great job of reducing its carbon footprint, Well Done!
I had a ground floor balcony room. There were work vans parked in front of my balcony, so the view was very limited. The noise of angle grinders working at the front of the building also spoiled the tranquility.

Staff were lovely. Food lovely too
Heating was on tho it was lovely weather. Asked for replacement fan as the one we had wasn't working but the replacement didn't work either. Disappointed with location of room. Paid for a balcony but we were room 101 which was by the coach stop so not able to use balcony as coaches constantly there with people hanging around all the time. Waste of money paying for the balcony as we couldn't use it. Also we were located near the water dispenser in corrider. Even tho there were signs for people to be quiet at dispenser we were woken through the night. Not a great location for a room.

We just stayed for one night, comfortable room, lots of nice touches for the kids- little teddies, complimentary hot chocolate and ice cream, excellent swimming pool for kids as it isn't too deep, lots of entertainment, good location, it is out of town. I did see they had shuttle buses into Killarney running but we didn't avail of this. The breakfast was good also. 👍
Only negative about the hotel I found was the heat in the rooms, even with the window open all night it was roasting, there was a fan in the room which we used. This is a very busy bustling hotel so maybe too busy for those looking for calm and quiet hotel.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were so nice and the food was fabulous
There were a lot of member from the travelling community at the hotel for some concert and both the adults and children were very loud and really did what ever they wanted and no member of staff said anything, at 2 am there were children running up and down and knocking on the doors and when told to stop there was just abuse . I would stay again but two of my friends said never again and it was only because they were ignored by staff and let do what they liked

:: Hotel Decoration was really nice and festive/ Christmas trees very well decorated and created a lovely atmosphere :: Staff amazing - Carol at reception went above and beyond for us /Kevin also was very accomodating - the waiting staff at dinner (Flesk restaurant greeting host/lady who won server of the year & O'Ds Paulina & David were fantastic) and at breakfast (Oscar) - the bar staff (the red haired guy didnt get his name) was also exceptional; I hope the staff are paid well as they are very good at their jobs and went out of their way for us. We went to the ABBAesque night that was good too. :: Food was very nice - ate in all three dining venues / salmon / fish and chips/ chowder/ potato leek soup / hake/steak/prime rib beef/ ate vegan dessert was ok banana & chocolate cake with icecream (more sorbet) just to try to see if it was nice. Flesk restaurant staff got fresh fruit for my daughter as she didnt like any of dessert options / breakfast was delish very varied with lots of options / fruit/cheese/pancakes/ toppings / cereals/ and full fry with two types of eggs.
The hotel lobby and all the restaurants including green room were freezing. People sitting in coats as a result. Bedrooms were warm and sometimes too hot, but the communal areas were extremely cold

Friendly pleasant staff, couldn't do enough for the family....Michaela of reception staff had the nicest welcome for us at check in....Great variety of food options, lots of different entertainment too, from the kids club, to the swimming pool, to nightly music in the bar & showbands in the ballroom... Would certainly recommend it for a fabulous family getaway....Very clean room and spot check afterwards to ensure we were happy with the work, staff on top of their goals to give a 5 star experience to guests of the Gleneagle....
Nothing to report....
