The room was lovely and spacious for three of us (two adults, and then a teenager in the sofabed). Aircon was superb, the best we had during our multi-stop holiday. So many amenities given in the bathroom and the coffee/snacks. Parking was no problem (though tricky if you arrive late, possibly) and the location fronting on to the lake was wonderful. Note there isn't really any shop in immediate walking distance if you need anything, but the likelihood is you'll be moving around the area anyway. Breakfast was delicious, a nice hot and cold selection and eaten while sitting outside under parasols. I would definitely return here.

The location was great. As the property is located in a smaller town it’s much quieter than the more popular locations. The onsite restaurant serves very high quality food and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a ‘suite’ which was listed as suitable for four people. With two adults and two teenagers there was very little room or separation. When booking a suite there is an expectation that you will have a sleeping area separated from a living area. This isn’t the case with this room.

Absolutely the most comfortable place we stayed out of our entire Italy experience. The bed was FANTASTIC. The AC actually got cool, and we ended up turning it OFF. Which is crazy since it's July in Italy and everywhere else the AC couldn't keep up. Breakfast was incredible, and you can't get a more gorgeous spot near the water.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but we weren't prepared for how hard it would be to get in and out of these small towns at the lake. My advice is to rent a car if you're coming out this far.

Room was very clean and big, nice lightning, very comfortable bed, awesome view from the window, free coffee and drinks, very quiet, no noise from outside or neighbors. Easy check-in in the late evening, clear instructions. Very helpful staff.

Lovely big room with every facility you could wish for. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous views of the lake, mountains and pretty villages. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we have had - fresh and tasty. Restaurant is very olde worlde and looks great. Thank you.

Restaurant was closed on the night we arrived so we didn’t get to eat there.

It was great and more than what I expected, I can give them 4 stars the room was excellent and the restaurant and food was very good and it has a private parking. In general I highly recommend it Thanks for the owners.

This is a different type of review. The authorities closed the surrounds of the hotel due to the strong storms which happened during the week and could happen during our 1st night in Laglio. This review is about the atitude of the staff who called us before we arrived and, concerned with our safety, arranged a different/good place for us to stay. They called us again in the 2nd day just to make sure we were comfortable enough and never mentioned anything about money or difference to be paid. They were in fact concerned with my family safety and our comfort in Laglio. The hotel location is great. Per the mgr attitude, I bet everything there is great as well.

There are many accommodations to choose from at Lake Como offering visitors a choice; however, the owners, manager and staff of La Locanda del Cantiere have figured out how to make their accommodation exceptionally appealing to the traveler. La Locanda del Cantiere's decor is a combination of the best of antiquity combined with contemporary. They offer world class comfort and offer everything (including the little things,) that make for a great stay. Rooms offer state of the art ambient lighting as well as outside lighting, windows that open for fresh air, electronic shades, views right on the lake, state of the art bathroom fixtures, showers with great water pressure and perfect drainage, top security with four bolts on room doors, high speed wifi and comfortable bedding. The facility offers an elevator so one doesn't have to carry luggage up stairs and excellent parking that is locked at night and accessible to guests at all hours via a combination lock. The restaurant next door has a perfectly wonderful breakfast in the morning, phenomenal decor, caring and attentive staff. The La Locanda del Cantiere Manager provides excellent service to his guests and takes the initiative to go above and beyond. This was my most favorite stay in all of the 9 places of lodging I stayed at during my visit to northern Italy. La Locanda del Cantiere can write the book on superior hospitality. Bravo to the La Locanda del Cantiere team!

Clean, comfortable, spacious room with a beautiful view. The AC and refrigerator were a huge plus, and the room was thoughtfully stocked. We also loved the breakfast buffet. It was the nicest breakfast offering at any of the hotels we stayed at during our trip. Dinner at the restaurant was lovely, too, and it was great to have food and wine available downstairs. The location is perfect for getting around to other popular destinations in the area, while offering a quiet place to retreat at the day’s end. Appreciated having parking included on site, and an elevator for transporting luggage. We felt this stay was an excellent value and exceeded our expectations for the price.

Charming little hotel with very friendly staff.Beautiful view towards the lake and a large and well equipped room. Interesting architecture in an old shipyard. The breakfast is diversified with fresh fruit and freshly prepared eggs in the restaurant, which also offers very nice dinner.

Between the hotel and the lake is a little street, which is usually used by locals. On weekends and when the weather is good there're many motorbykes on the roads, partly riding at high speed and very noisy. That's nothing the hotel is to blame for but it's good to know, especially when travelling with kids.
