I'd stayed regularly before covid and this was my first time back. I was delighted to see the improvements. What a difference a spruce-up can make. Everything is fresh and clean and the makeover has made this dreary, tired hotel come back to life, wonderful to see. My room was so comfortable and well-equipped. The hospitality tray had bottled water, tea, coffee, milk as well as biscuits. The bed was large and I had a great night's sleep. The bathroom has a bath as well as a shower and the towels were extra large. Soap and shampoo were provided. Breakfast is included in the room rate but I didn't eat on this occasion. The staff were lovely and very friendly. As I wasn't having breakfast, I was offered a free drink in the bar instead, a lovely gesture.

There's limited parking here. You can park in the area underneath the arches off the main road but it's small and awkward to access. There's free parking around the side and back streets or a pay-and-display car park opposite.

Phenomenally friendly and helpful staff. Very nice ensuite bathroom, modern plenty of hot water, very clean and well finished room and fluffy white towels in the bathroom. Room temperature easy to adjust. Bed could have been more comfortable. Very pleasant stay. Coffee in the morning was fresh and very nice. I didn't have time to stop for a full breakfast but the croissant was perfectly warmed through and crisp and delicious. Staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay at The Castle Hotel again and recommend it. Also very easy to park there and even if the hotel parking is full, there is a local car park directly opposite. Good location in the centre of Devizes.

The bathroom, the quality of bathroom fittings, the cleanliness everywhere and the helpful staff, and lovely hot bath.

The breakfasts were excellent, cooked well and not too much. The room was very good, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was great, not being right on the High Street, but very handy for the shops and car parks. The staff were really nice, efficient and polite. The Manager was great, getting stuck in to all manners of jobs needed to be done. We were able to make a change to our booking without any bother. Thank you.

It felt a little strange that no night porter was available, but we were handed a key to allow us entry and exit. The hotel is at a busy junction with heavy goods vehicles running through the night, but it really didn't affect our quality of sleep.

Our 2nd visit to Devizes. We couldn't get booked here afew weeks ago, but this time we could for our trip to collect our new Alaskan Malamute puppy. An older building which has been brought up to date with current decor, which is very clean & airy. It still holds the nuances & fabulous history of an older building. A few steps up here, a few steps down, etc. as you navigate your way to a very well presented room. All of it is rather charming & modern at the same time. Staff were fantastic, friendly & attentive, without being overpowering. The food was well presented and good. This is "just" a 3* hotel, which punches just probably over its for a 3* rating. Very impressed. Stick to your Premier/Holiday Inn if you want or come here for a very satisfying stay. Highly recommended & thanks to all of the staff.

Lack of electrical sockets at beside the bed for charging phones, smart watches etc. Minor gripe.

We ordered what we wanted for breakfast, so it was freshly cooked and at the time we wanted. The people there were friendly and helpful. I felt safe and secure there as the staff appeared to keep an eye on the stairs to the rooms. Although our room was on the road side of the Hotel the traffic noise did not disrupt our sleep. The Hotel was a short walk away from the Caen locks and canal - great waterside walks.

Although the Hotel had limited parking - they could not reserve a space, there was road side parking for 2 hours between 9 and 5 - so as we were out and about during the day this was not a problem.

The staff are wonderfully friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The en suite appeared to have been recently refurbished and was very well appointed. The cozy bar for the night before and including breakfast the following morning, is a lovely touch. Perfect for an overnight stay.

The only issue is the hotel has incredibly limited parking that is first come, first served. We were fortunate to get a space, but this is a minor criticism as there is a car park over the road, a short distance away

Location was great. Decor was clean fresh and modern in keeping with the building. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the area and just really nice people . I asked for softer pillows….and there they were . Breakfast staff operated like a well oiled machine, bright , friendly and service was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble! Believe me I would say if it wasn’t!! Overall, SUPERB!

Despite extra sound proofing the front rooms were a little noisy . But that’s being next to a road! The room quality was a good distraction!!

First & foremost the staff were excellent. Dave & every member of his team encountered we're extremely friendly & helpful. The whole hotel was clean & we'll maintained. The bedroom was a very good size, with a Comfy bed in which we slept well. The breakfast choice was good & nicely presented. The Sunday slow roast lamb even for a small portion we ordered was plentiful & well presented. We're not talking gastro pub etc but just good honest food. Our stay was extremely good value & we would certainly stay again. We'll done Dave & your team 👍

Limited on site parking, but there was a car park across the road which was reasonably priced. Otherwise no criticism.

Greeting from staff was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Booked into room straight away. Room was spacious, clean and warm. Bathroom modern with good shower. Didn’t make plans to eat in the hotel but chose to. The Ambiance is lovely. Comfortable without being too formal. Breakfast was ordered the night before and ready at requested time. Fabulous breakfast. Again the staff were wonderful, very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Location central. Good price. Overall a really great place to stay

The room was vey spacious and very clean. Excellent location and amazing breakfast, I loved the refill of the drinks. We had an early wedding to go to and I asked if it was possible for early check in. The staff were so accommodating offering to place our bags in our rooms if it wasn’t ready on arrival. But the cleaning staff did an amazing job and had our room ready when we got there anyway! Thank you as it saved us a lot of messing about.
