So this was a nice little find at the last minute for our trip. We had another hotel booked and switched to this one when the price dropped on it. We were only staying in Cancun for a few days after a trip to Playa Del Carmen but we wish we could have stayed at this resort longer. The amenities were top notch. Although the buildings are older they are very well maintained and look like new. Every staff member we interacted with was a pleasure. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Everything works as it should in the rooms and the beds were amazing. The pools and swim up bars were awesome. The food on site was out of this world good. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection.

We really didn't dislike anything however I would just like to note that this is a Timeshare property. When you stay here you will be asked if you would like to attend one of there 90 minute tours. It is not required though. We really liked the place and chose to attend one. We ended up not buying but it was an enjoyable experience. It wasn't like most Timeshare tours where they hound you relentlessly to buy. They made their pitch, we listened, we though about it, and we declined. They understood and let us go on our way.

Nice rooms, direct on beach , comfortable beds, nice pools, sports facilities and nice layout Cleaning staff were friendly.

Air conditioning very loud, rooms pulling isolated for noise. Reception staff and waiters were rude and at times incompetent Had to move room for 1 night to accommodate another booking. This was not made clear when the booking was made.

We arrived at the Royal Cancun unexpectedly because our original hotel badly let us down and we had to leave it in a hurry. From the moment we booked, the Royal treated us like VIPs. We asked for their help with an early check-in. José at the front desk arranged this, and also gave us our room keys early so we could enjoy the bar and restaurants while we waited for our room to be prepared. Reynaldo helped us with our luggage and ensured we were looked after. Our suite was a large two-bedroom apartment with one bathroom and a modern kitchen. We had been told the room was "resort view" but we could clearly see the ocean from the large balcony. The beds, sofa and balcony furniture were very comfortable. The kitchen was generously stocked with all kinds of utensils, crockery and cutlery, as well as nice little touches like dishwasher salt, a packet of coffee and a few complimentary local beers in the fridge! Our cleaner was impeccable - every time we returned to the room it had been thoroughly cleaned (and they ensured that it was fumigated against pests and mosquitos before we arrived). Everyone in the resort speaks fluent English, though they were kind and patient with us when we did our best to converse in Spanish. The services on offer were amazing. We paid for sports massages in the spa villa (amazing, my back still feels great after the 11 hour flight home); borrowed towels every day to sit by the pool or beach (free); borrowed snorkels, fins and masks (free); took a kayak out in the mangrove swamps (free); parked our car in the secure car park (free). The breakfast was excellent - a generous selection of hot and cold buffet options, plus cooked food to order. It runs from 0700-1100 and was never too busy. The swim-up pool bar is great, and closes at 10pm so the whole place is very quiet at night.

Nothing. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. I didn't like having to leave it and come home! We're already plotting our return. I can't imagine anything that could have made my stay better.

- Staff was very kind, helpful and caring - special mention to Karla at breakfast who went above and beyond in her service; Jeremias at check-in providing us with great ideas on what to do and all reception staff! - Facilities were very clean and tidy. - The beach was really well looked after and the promenade was special. - Breakfast selection was excellent.

- Air con worked well; however, a bit loud and sporadic

Everything was clean and in good conditions, The property has everything on site , the beach it’s great , food is good , location is perfect

Check in at 4 pm check out at eleven, come on that is almost abusing, check out it’s 12 and check in it’s at 3 pm the most ,, everywhere

we liked everything!! we felt right at home. the buffet breakfast was delicious with local cuisine. the amenities that were offered also made out stay more enjoyable. the family centered ambiance added to the highlight of our trip. the size of the villas was more than enough for our family of 5.

The information about the themed dinner buffet was unclear as to what was included. We ended up paying for drinks and refills which would normally be including with the buffet price. I would recommend cleaning up the immediate beach water by the resort. Too much sea grass for the kids to enjoy playing in the water. we ended up moving to the resort next door which had clearer beach water.

Villa was spacey, well equipped. Beds with very good mattresses. Complimentary mini-bar.

Beach was clean, equipped with umbrellas, beds and chairs with a good service from La Palapa restaurant/bar but most of the sea-bed right from a shore was covered with grass - not very pleasure to walk on. We used the beach of the neighboring hotel (Breathless)

Clean, comfortable, quiet, beautiful location. Was not the young adult spring break party location which was great for us. Mostly families, quiet by 10pm. Nice beach & very secure. Convenient store on site. The beach was perfect if you have young kids - no waves, very shallow. It’s weedy on the north side though. If you want clear waters, you can go to the sister resort for free on the hotel shuttle or for less than $1 on the bus, but the week we were there was red flag warning and strong waves so no real swimming at the sister resort.

The food at the restaurants was overpriced and not that good. And they had zero interest in helping choose food for dietary restrictions. They will try to sell you on the presentation to become a member. And I mean everybody you speak to, every day. Most staff were not pushy but some were.

Nice beach and good view of the balcony. The suite is spacious and clean.

The air conditioner is too loud. There are extra taxes when checking out. And the staff refused to provide the receipt, which other hotels always give to me. The traffic is very heavy normally if you want to go out for other activities, unless it's early or very late.

Our room was clean, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds. It was nice to have a little porch. Nice pool, my kids loved checking the little turtles they have in a pond every morning. Good breakfast with lots of options. Staff was really nice.

The beach was disappointing — it looks like a little lake with lots of plants in it. Maybe it looks different at a different time of the year… Food at the main restaurant was overpriced and not that good (except for breakfast and the Mexican night). But the option to go to their “sister” hotel (Royal Sands) for beach and lunch one day was really a plus!
