This hotel is a delightful gem, showcasing the rich culture of Japan in Hakuba. We highly recommend it! The onsen is absolutely incredible, especially after a day of skiing. Please note that it is a public bath and shower, so if you prefer privacy, you may want to book the private onsen for $3000 an hour. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and the owner is attentive and helpful. The entire place is impeccably clean. Its location is fantastic, conveniently situated between bus stops and Happo One. The beds are traditional Japanese-style, placed on the ground, and additional futons can be provided if needed. I appreciate the authenticity of this Japanese style. I hope they never westernize this. If you choose to stay here, please respect Japanese culture and consider supporting local rentals, restaurants, and shops.

The area surrounding has been gentrified and westernized through the past years.

Visited for a ski holiday and was a bit sceptical about the traditional sleeping arrangements as we had never slept in a room like this before and this hotel completely exceeded our expectations! The traditional bed was super comfortable, shared bathroom facilities extremely clean, breakfast delicious and slightly different each day and a large amount of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The staff were also lovely and helped with bus information, ordering taxis and answering any questions we had. Cant wait to stay here again next year!!

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Everything was perfect! This was our second time visiting and it was just as good as the first. The traditional rooms were surprisingly comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Location is very central.

Difficult to book this year, only secured my reservation very last minute- possibly from someone else cancelling. Hopefully we can secure a reservation for next year!!

Room was not overly clean. Knocked the lamp shade as so low and about 2 years of dust fell onto the bed! Hadn’t realised no private shower units (perhaps my bad!) breakfast average so ended up getting it elsewhere after first day

Very homely, comfortable and clean, good location, friendly staff, and washing machines are relatively affordable as a bonus.

Staff seem a little bit stretched and amenities such as towels and sashes were not initially readily available at their main pickup location, but staff were able to provide upon request.

The traditional style! Really well catered for skiers and snowboarders - a drying room is available. The location is close by the free shuttles and the bus terminal, and lawsons is a 3 minute walk away. The onsen was great for after a long day of skiing

The breakfast was good and the location is next to several bus stops that can take you to Hakuba47 and Happo One. It's also walkable to Happo One.

The room is a very traditional Japanese room without chairs or mattress. The pillow is also in a traditional style and I could not get used to it.

I needed access to a kettle and had to borrow one from another guest.

Great new and old style hotels. Super helpful and friendly staff. Must stay. I will continue to stay here for many years to come. Love you Japan from Australia. Bath house in the hotel is a must try proper spring water

The onsen were excellent and seemed well kept, breakfast was a great spread, the tunnel was silly fun, and the beds were super comfortable.

The place seems like it has fallen into a bit of disrepair with age. Overall we really liked it though!
