The most impressive thing about the room was the sound of the ocean at night, this alone made it worth staying here. You can see the ocean and the sunset right out of the window. Breakfast was pretty diverse, even as vegans we managed to pick something for ourselves (but we brought our own plant based milk). The room was very spacious. There's a bus stop right across the entrance.

Furniture and room in general felt dated. There was only bare minimum of toiletries, no soap (but they gave us soap when we requested), no slippers or bathrobe. I feel awkward complaining about this, but the toilet paper in the room was the cheapest nastiest kind. Breakfast ended at 10am which is a bit early for us.

The most noticeable thing about Hotel Gran Rey is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Whilst it isn't luxurious, it is very clean and comfortable and excellent value, in my opinion. The sight and sound of the sea - especially at sunset - makes a stay really memorable. The central location is perfect for walking between the different parts of Valle Gran Rey. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and it was useful to have a fridge in the room.

Tea and coffee making in the room would have been good, but I brought a travel kettle and borrowed two cups, so it wasn't a huge issue!

The location is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. Wonderful view of the sea from the balcony (on the sea side, of course). The breakfast buffet offers a lot of choice and leaves nothing to be desired.

The bathroom is spacious, but I find the combination of a bathtub with a small plastic guard rather unfavorable, as the bathroom gets very wet very quickly. A shower would be much better. In addition, the toilet seat was very old and looked very worn. A renovation would be necessary here.

Wonderful room, lovely view of the mountains. Good choice on the breakfast buffet. Surprised and pleased that the hotel provided us with breakfast at 4.00 in the morning when we had an early departure. We found out about this by chance, it would be great if this information was given to all visitors.

The car park was being renovated which meant there were not always spaces available. Hopefully this will be sorted soon.

The view is unbeatable. We finally find peace in Gran Rey. The vibe here is so welcoming and healing. It's low key yet very cozy. The bed is very comfortable. Very clean everywhere. We can sense that the team is maintaining the hotel with heart and love. The service worth 5 star. It's very considerate of then to offer free dinner on arrival. For late customers after 10 pm, they even prepared a table with cold dish and dessert, we really appreciate it. The staff are so sweet and helpful, treating us like family. We had a really good connection with Adera, who was our favorite. She's so kind and always smiled and cared if we need anything. It's a warm tradition for her ending the conversation with "mi niño". If the management consider a investment to upgrade the facilities to be 4-5 star hotel, I believe people will be so willing to pay for it. I believe in the potential!

We loved the breakfast!! and the location is ideal as it is right across from the beach and promenade. Location was close to the harbour and the town and we enjoyed that it was quiet and not too 'resort-y'! We also loved the easy access to hiking areas from this hotel

I would have preferred more vegan options in the hot food at dinner, the salads were incredible so I filled up on them

The location of the hotel is perfect and it was worth the extra to pay for a sea view - lovely sunsets Breakfasts very good Pool on the roof was lovely (although some - German - guests insisted on trying to reserve sunbeds in spite of being asked not to do so by the hotel.!!!) The road in front of the hotel was generally very quiet Good restaurants nearby - especially the lunchtime veggie place

Fantastic location with stunning view over the sea. Good breakfast on 3rd floor where you could eat out on the balcony or inside but with big glass windows to see the view. Sunset on 3rd floor balcony not to be missed. Staff helpful and I would happily go back.

Didn't like the single beds. Hotel is a bit of a wind tunnel. Loved our end room with view up valley but wind very noisy. Bathroom are a bit old but everything works.

The hotel is located in the western part of La Gomera: with beautiful wavy black-sand beaches, strong winds and incredible sunsets. It takes about an hour to reach the hotel from the airport by car, but it’s all due to the mountain roads. The hotel staff is nice, speaks English and very often German. I had to leave early morning. They served me with a personal breakfast - it was so nice of them.

The rooms are clean, but the hotel is old: it’s not bad but it’s easy to notice. The real problem of this hotel is its internet. In case you need to work during your stay in the island, you’d better try to find another accommodation with a good connection. No wi-fi connection in a room, some options of a mobile internet in public places.

The view ..cleanliness of the hotel & the little extras towel rails on the balcony & in the bathroom..its situation away from the town centre...the breakfast has excellent choice of different foods..and very friendly staff.

The coffee machine wasn't good...coffee too weak..Pool area is great if the hotel isn't busy we managed to sit round the pool once the other 2 days impossible.
