Friendly staff and smooth check in and out Decent room and very clean Good breakfast and for once freshly cooked to order with non of the awful hot items in hot containers and rotary toasters that don’t work. This was a nice change although some people probably like a cold selection of fruit and cereals on display. Very good service as well. I didn’t have evening meal but I wish I had as food looked very good

Room was above bar and very noisy although it went quiet after 10.30 pm. Had to keep curtains closed as room was opposite some houses and privacy was an issue. Some blinds would have been desirable

It was a traditional pub with rooms & lots of parking in the pub car park. The staff were all friendly & helpful & my room was comfy & had everything I needed for my one night stay. I’d only booked the day before to extend my stay in Northumberland & I was pleasantly surprised to find this place for such a reasonable price. The food was excellent - I had the pie & it was delicious with lots of melt in the mouth beef. I saw some guests have the fish & chips which also looked amazing. Breakfast was ordered at the table so cooked fresh & what a lovely surprise to see fried bread on the menu! It’s not offered in many places now but what a treat. It was gorgeous.

It’s on a main road so there is some road noise if you’re in a room at the front. If you are easily disturbed then ask for a room at the back. It’s also a popular pub so don’t expect it to be quiet until the pub closes.

Breakfast was very good - good choice and the food is always tasty and plenty of it - you will not go hungry. We had dinner one evening and it's excellent, great choice and very generous portions. The staff are so lovely and friendly. We've stayed a couple of times over the years and it's a great location for our friends who live nearby. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas. It may not be trendy and modern but feels like home from home and you are always made to feel very welcome.

My room was comfortable, some noise from the bar area below, but quiet after 11pm so not really a problem.All the staff are friendly and helpful and there is adequate parking in the pub car park. Well placed if you want to explore central or coastal Northumberland.

Thought the evening meal I had was a bit pricy for the two items on my plate (breaded chicken and three or four small potatoes, no other vegetables…)

Breakfast was plentiful and hot - we ate in on the Saturday night, too, had a lovely meal, prices reasonable and the quality was very good! The room was comfortable - quite a firm bed, which I like! The service was excellent - staff were all friendly and helpful. We had always wanted to visit Cragside, and this place is a perfect location for that.

It's a minor thing, but our room was over the bar area and the floor/ceiling must be quite thin! You could hear conversations quite clearly, though fortunately the music is played quite quietly. It would only be a problem if you wanted an early night and were a light sleeper...

Straightforward and pretty good value accommodation with a good rate for a single person (when I looked at options) and the staff were unfussy, kind, helpful, and checked us in really swiftly. Comfy and clean. Well made breakfast and food looks worth trying but didn't get round to an evening meal there unfortunately.

They sorted a small issue out, so no problems with the stay.

The Granby Inn is in a perfect location for the places we wanted to visit. The staff were all without exception helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and helped with advice when needed. The food was superb, plenty of choice and even special themed nights. Served piping hot on hot plates. The breakfast was also great, with high quality ingredients.

The bedroom was great and really well appointed, however we would have liked a larger bed.

Location was excellent for our needs. Staff were very friendly. Evening meal choices were varied, of good quality & value for money.

More breakfast yoghurt flavour choices & a description of which cereals were available. Bathroom floor was chilly so pleased I brought my slippers. Nowhere to hang damp towels in bathroom. We would have reused them if we could.

Hadn't planned to stay here, as was emergency rebook. Staff were very friendly couple and accommodating. Helped keep sons medicine refrigerated. Lovely cooked breakfast, evening meals were great. They do specials as well, was quite fancy and more the type of place I would go as a couple rather than with young son. Great shower, clean, TV worked, towels and toiletries all good. Great bedding, pillows, nice power shower., good parking.

There isn't much to fault tbh, the only thing I could say was the twin beds could soon need replacing as starting to bow a bit.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the accommodation was a good standard. The food was very good and served in a pleasant and efficient manner. Car parking could be a little difficult, due to the popularity of the evening food service, if returning after a day sightseeing.

The dodgy bottom step on the staircase, too narrow. The room 1 decoration was a little tired in places.
