Breakfast was very good and delicious. It met all the standard expectations. Staff were really organized, nice, and they take their jobs seriously. The whole environment was very safe.

After staying one week which was very satisfying. A request for late check out due to later night flight was declined. Even when I offered to pay a day rate. The manager insisted unless I pay 700 Rands late check out fees vs 269 Rand daily rate. It doesn’t make sense . However, he allowed me to stay 2hrs free late check out. Not my preference, but half loaf better than no bread!

Reception from the reception is exceptional. All guys very friendly and mannered. Assistance in leaving luggage behind whilst going to office for later collection after check out. Same as the security guards from the booms leading to the houses, gentleman who's name I don't remember but a manager but the buffet dinner(very friendly and receptive) views spectacular from my room.

Unfortunately I don't eat breakfast earlier than 11 so for me that was a loss on my end. Would be nice if we could be allowed to trade breakfast for light dinner for some of us. And noise from the neighbours loud, even when they aren't necesarily too loud.

Bed was EXTRA King size - searched for my wife!!! Public Parking limited especially if you drive down for breakfast prior to proceeding on daily trips. Conference attendees used room allocated parking during the day. Staff VERY helpful - a few at breakfast with a long face but those that knew that you there for a period of time took and made great effort to have a peaceful relaxed breakfast. Suggest areas where in shaded areas non conference visitor that are booked in can relax and take in the view and have wine or soft drinks in soft furnishings.

Room - was close to the conferencing centre but not inside - loved that. Lovely to keep warm during this cold front. Breakfast - Good variety - loved it! Friendly staff and beautiful setting. View - absolutely breathtaking - the vineyards, the white complexes and the mountains were just awesome. Took so many pics!

There was nothing to dislike. I would have loved a bath but I also realise the hotel is green so, its not a total dislike. Everything was in order during our short staycation and attendance to an event.

the issue of being taken to the room by the carts by the attendants and most of the times they were not readily available communication, the room phones were at times not working and had to walk in the rain to get to the reception to place a food order

Great stay, with only one minor hiccup - We were unable to stream Netflix. Everything else was faultless and exceeded expectations! 👌

I booked for 3 days to rest after international travel and before a work conference. It was ideal with very comfortable, clean. quiet accommodation. Plenty of space to work and rest. The large pool is great for exercise. There is also a good gym although I didn't use this. The staff and service are excellent and worthy of a 5 star hotel. So friendly and accommodating and should be congratulated. The breakfast is very good with great options. The dinner options are casual but sufficient for a few nights and good wine choices. It is also a good base to explore Stellenbosch and the vineyards. Overall excellent value for money compared with the pricey, local boutique hotels.

I did not actually stay at Protea Hotel Stellenbosch. They experienced a geyser burst the previous evening and my room wasn't going to be ready on the day of check in. They did contact me early the day of check in to explain the situation. They arrange alternative accommodation which was excellent. Ill give them 10 out of 10 for crises management

The staff were extremely chipper and very helpful especially since we requested a late check in. Even the gentlemen and his golf cart assisted us to cart our luggage to our rooms was friendly and helpful.

The Bed was extremely uncomfortable. It maybe needs to be turned and flipped once it a while. Or better yet replaced. The room looked like it was still being upgraded and it should have been finished it had guests occupy it.

This is a great hotel with little houses. You get an apartment with two rooms, kitchenette. The breakfast was amazing, ask for the omelette. The Wingerd restaurant is great for a nice dinner with a variety of wines. The hotel is surrounded by a breathtaking area of mountains and vineyards. If you want to stay in the region of Stellenbosch, choose this hotel.
