Staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs e.g., providing us with a kettle on request. The breakfast was really good too. Also there's a lovely man named Carlos across from the hotel who deals in car rentals, and provides parking as well as great deals. Lastly, there's lots of local amenities and some superb restruants just a stones throw away.

The location was closer to the airport than I had imagined which meant there quite a few planes coming in and out. There is also no pools of water nearby, except for an imported sand beach with wave breakers in walking distance... not really comparable to the back sand volcanic beaches you can find in the north west side of the island.

Enjoying the renovated room, loved getting rid of those old carpets. Beautiful wiew from our room/balcony. As earlier a very god choice of breakfast. And a very serviceminded nice staff, quick answers before arrival and during stay.

Slippery bathtub, would be better with a change to shower. The bed a bit hard, but ok. Could use a bench or something for the suitcase and two chairs in the room.

It was very nice spacious and clean. Beautiful bathroom and balcony with a view at the ocean. The staff were nice and helpful everytime I needed something.

Great location, friendly staff, Machico is a great location. Excellent breakfast. You have the option to go to roque beach but also to the sandy beach, very close to the hotel, pay parking is good, you can find easy a space

Nothing negative, just improvement for the owners Wifi is in your room, You should have the option to select the room with a bigger balcony direct from booking.com I did not ask the owner, but it would be good to have the option to rent a car directly from the reception and other travel options

Very good location (in the center of town and close to the airport), spacious and cozy rooms, and helpful staff.

Breakfast had a very poor choice of food and low-quality/cheap products (like cheese, fruits, etc.) We choose this hotel for good reviews about breakfast but the reality was very disappointing.

Location is perfect. Very clean. All staff are friendly & helpful especially Shez who was there last year. Was like greeting an old friend. Will be going again.

Everything was just perfect, the room was cosy, the lady at the front desk was fantastic. The location is a great spot if you want the beach, restaurants and a quiet town. Breakfast was great and hits the spot. We only had dinner once, but it was delicious.

Parking can be a bit of a pickle.

No wifi in the room. No parking( we spent a lot of time wandering around - I don't blame the hotel but something to consider). It felt a little overpriced.

The location of the hotel is exceptional! A block away from the beach, what else could one want? The last that checked us in was super friendly, nice and helpful with all our needs and questions.

The hotel is in need of a serious renovation rooms-wise. I understand that many of the hotels by the beach do not have air conditioning, however a fan is a must? At the very least a ceiling fan in each room is needed. The furniture and bathroom features are outdated as well.

Something that stands out about the White Waters hotel is how clean it is. The floors, walls and surfaces are always immaculate, even on days when the rain outside would make you expect footprints everywhere. My trip involved doing work on my computer while there, and the owner offered me a choice of three locations in the hotel where I could work and was keen to offer whatever help I needed. The Wifi is excellent (15 - 20Mb/s download) and I was able to hold video conference calls with ease (and very little delay). The hotel is as central as you can get for Machico, near the sea, the town centre shops and an easy walk to the bigger supermarket. If you don't know Machico, it's the largest town on Madeira, after the sprawling layout of Funchall. It's set in a valley, so it's about 10 minutes walk wide from side-to-side, and an hour's walk from beach to where it tapers off up the valley. Most of Machico's centre where the hotel is found is flat, which is a rarity on this island. Breakfast each morning is a standard buffet offering cereal, fruit juices, various bread rolls, sliced meats, cheese, bacon, fried eggs and a small selection of other items. While not a huge range, it was all good quality and worked for me each morning of my 10 night stay. Housekeeping staff attended to the room each morning, which is worth mentioning these days because many hotels have taken to leaving the rooms during a stay, whether to save money or due to Covid risk. Staff all wore masks and were diligent in making sure guests followed the rules.

I wish they could have offered dinner in their restaurant. While the hotel was full, they said it wasn't busy enough to run it in the evenings yet. I'd have loved to stay there full board.
