Christopher the night concierge was amazing and went above and beyond for us. We had to arrive at 3am and he was so accommodating and exceptional. The room service was so prompt and delicious, still nice and warm. We participated in the Thanksgiving buffet which was very good with a wide range of options. The entire staff was welcoming to our furry kids and very helpful with any question we had. The decor was beautiful and I love the kids check in station for those traveling with kids. We stayed in a suite and it was nice and spacious with a lot of natural light at the end of a very quiet hallway. I also really appreciated the shower slip-proof mat that was optional in our restroom- I am prone to falls and the shower can be a bit daunting for me when I travel.

The pillows were a bit lumpy

Great customer service - prior to arrival, check-in and check-out. Nicely appointed, quiet room (2 full beds) with very comfortable beds. Mini-frig, glasses (real glasses!), coffee and espresso makers. Good location - 20 minute walk to the Greek Theatre. Convenient parking - Public parking garage across the street from hotel (4 pm - 9 am for best rate; we arrived at 3:56 pm and left at 9:30 and were charged $46!!). ZINO restaurant was very nice - great food presentation and tastey, great service. Nice cafe down the street with espresso drinks and housemade chai. Would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Berkeley.

Parking was expensive - even in the Public Garage

Loved the location, the friendly front desk, the spacious bathroom, and comfortable bedding. We arrived very late and were greeted with a smile and quick check in. Very much appreciate the classic space with modern touches!

No streaming services on the TV, and no way to cast from your phone (even though the welcome screen states that this is possible... It's not.). It was a little frustrating to not be able to use that service that was advertised. Also, there has to be more than one tiny garbage can in the room!

The night shift front desk person (Christopher) was very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We drove to the hotel and Chris gave us some good information on parking, since there is no hotel parking. He greeted us congratulating us on our anniversary and presented us a gift (bottle of wine) from the hotel. Btw, it was just past midnight when we arrived and Chris was as cheerful as anyone could have been. We were quite tired, and appreciated the warm greetings. Also, the room accommodations were great. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The WiFi seemed a bit slow, but otherwise we loved the stay.

This is 2 minutes from the Powell bart station, so it's an excellent location. If you want to do sightseeing, the area is very walkable, and there are also many trams and buses. You can walk to Fisherman's wharf from here (depending on the street you take, it might get a bit steep). There are many homeless people on the street, but during the day, I did not feel unsafe. There are plenty of other people walking around. I'm not sure about nights, I was inside in the evenings. The hotel had an atm in the lobby, which I really appreciated. You can be sure not to be disturbed while getting money. I was on the 7th floor. The room had enough space and was a little scruffy but clean. The shower was hot, and I even had a bath. I struggled for a minute to get the water to come out. I had to pull on the top button.

It may have been me, but I didn't manage to get the air conditioning to work. I could open a window, and the air was cool, so I didn't need it and didn't ask the staff about it. The windows were a bit old and definitely not soundproof. I could hear music and shouting people in the evenings, but it quietened down later at night.

Front desk check-in was easy, efficient, and welcoming. Lovely ambiance, entry, atmosphere

Had to park across the road in a garage, late check-in (10:00pm), tired mom who just moved kid into college apt. Valet simply didn’t want to be bothered, it was a strange experience. He actually suggested & encourage I park myself, which I didn’t want to do but, realized I should take it as a sign that I might regret letting him take my car. Additionally, housekeeping did not replenish the shampoo, body lotion dispensers, there was none to be had.

Beautiful building with nice comfortable rooms. The reception and the rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds and a great shower.

For the price, the hotel should have breakfast. There's a restaurant, but it's expensive and pretensive. The dinner menu is not impressive at all. Just $$. Two options to park. Either in he parking garage across the street, which is very expensive. Or on the street, 2hr parking at $4 an hour. We don't live in the USA, so we don't have a parking app, maybe it's cheaper. We paid $46 for less than 24hrs in the garage.

It’s very close to the Berkeley rep theaters and lots of good restaurants . Their own restaurant is good especially breakfast

There was a problem with the room so we had to move after we were settled. But they managed the move for us. The young women at the reception desk did not know where Berkeley rep was or what it was! They should know their surroundings. Lots of street people around

The place is beautiful inside. The staff were incredibly kind to us and were able to adapt to the fact that we were in a huge rush to get to a concert that we were late to. The saw we were frazzled and helped us get through check-in quickly. The BED oh gosh, it is so comfortable that we stayed there as long as possible. I want to know what kind of sheets they use. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. And the curtains wrap all the way around the window so you can have full darkness. The location was great as well. We were able to walk to the venue and back.

Great location if you travel to Berkeley by BART. Good for visiting the university. Lovely rooms with upgraded bathrooms. The gym is small but has good quality equipment and a TV.

The soap is too hard to squeeze - I tried to get it out by pulling a lever on top - when I eventually managed to find out that you need to squeeze the bottle I did get some soap and shampoo - but never got the conditioner to come out - despite pushing my body weight against the bottle as I was in the shower. The key cards did not work in our room at first and we had to go back to the front desk to get them reprogrammed - the receptionist said this sometimes happens - it seems that the security system for rooms is not very robust.
