Beautifully appointed to a very high standard, clean, comfortable and well stocked accommodation. Idyllic location a real treat for lovers of nature. Tranquil and sympathetically placed cabins that make you feel part of the surroundings rather than intruding into the natural habitat. Wonderful to watch the wildlife. Friendly staff, particularly Tina who we enjoyed meeting.

One of the guest groups was louder than the rules required. We were impressed however, after we mentioned the problem it was dealt with very effectively, thank you.

Beautiful cottage surrounded by nature. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The kitchen had all the necessary supplies to cook simple meals. It was thoughtful of hosts to supply bug spray, flashlight, beach chairs and beach towels. Convenient to have (free) laundry on premises. Hosts put food out for birds in the early evening attracting cockatoos and kookaburras.

It was a bit far from downtown Airlie Beach. A couple of minor inconveniences with the cottage - no bath mat so water from our shower made the bathroom floor wet. The light from the smoke alarm(?) in the middle of the cottage was very, very bright making it difficult to fall asleep. Saw hosts around property but they didn’t introduce themselves. Would have been nice to have met them.

My wife and I stayed at Airlie Beach Eco Cabins over two nights over the period 4-6 Sep 2024. We had not visited Airlie Beach for over 19 years and the last minute nature of our booking as we headed south meant we were restricted in choice of accomodation. Our search revealed The Eco Cabins and we are so glad we decided on this establishment. While it is out of town it is not far from any amenities we required. The setup of the various cabins with their various themes is really clever, we stayed in one of the two rear cabins and were very pleasantly surprised by the size and homely feel of the cabin. The hosts have gone to a lot of effort to make you feel comfortable and we loved the lovely thought of providing welcome bubbly and chocolates. The Kitchen is well setup and has supplied basics I have never seen throughout our stays such as vegemite, cooking oil, butter, coffee bags and tea. The cabins were clean and had tasteful furnishings, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and functional. One of the strong points for visitors would be the wildlife, there was bush turkeys, swap wallabies, Kookaburras and various other birds. The hosts feed the birds each afternoon in front of the cabins. A firepit is outside each cabin and a small quantity of marshmallows are supplied to toast if that meets your fancy. We highly recommend this establishment as the place to stay in Airlie Beach, we felt at home and very welcome.

We only had a single criticism and that was the mixer tap in the shower had the handle missing which made it interesting to activate the shower and get the temp right, once we worked it out however it was all good. The car parking spot outside the cabin we had was tight for a Ford Ranger but any smaller car would be fine.

Everything. The location, the wildlife, the beautiful cabin, the welcoming touches that awaited us when we arrived inside our cabin, the peaceful setting.

Absolute comfort and privacy, cozy cabins set amongst beautiful bush landscapes, we stayed in Bandicoot Cabin and it had everything needed for an amazing and relaxing stay, John and Alison have thought of everything to make your stay extra special, champagne and chocolates in the fridge on arrival, small camp fire pit outside of each cabin, firewood, camp chairs, torch and marshmallows supplied, beds are very comfortable so good nights sleep too, we were lucky enough to see some of the wildlife around the property including a bandicoot who wandered near our cabin - we absolutely loved our stay here and appreciated the special touches, thank you 😊

Lack of shelving for toiletries and other items. Also in a bathroom would be beneficial to have a hook on the wall to hang clothing. The step on to the deck if was a ramp would avoid accidents or the first panel could be painted for safety purposes.

This small, cozy, comfy, clean cabin has everything we wanted for a relaxing holiday. It is in a tranquil wildlife nature setting. We heard nothing but the birds singing and the leaves rustling. We enjoyed our meditations every morning. We baked fish using their banana leaves, lemon and lemongrass.The staff were exceptional. They looked after us very well. Shout out to Steve, the gardener for friendly chats & setting the fire for us😊

Bug bites

From the moment we drove into the property we were taken in by the setting. Everything is tidy and well set out. The owners have thought of everything. From the special coffee, cold bottle of courtesy bubbly, some kitchen supplies and the needed insect spray. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the birds and enjoying meals and drinks. I loved the paintings, pictures and colours used which made the getaway an even more beautiful place.

That I only booked 3 nights!

Just to clarify I don't recall specifying a parking request at no additional cost when I booked this property. We have been away since the 25th of October, and I have booked several accommodations for the various locations. This property was a nature lover's paradise; however, we did not realise that a car was essential for getting to and from the property. This caused us a considerable amount of stress and precious time as we first got a taxi to the cabin, had to drop our suitcases and then go back to the town, as there was no reception for taxi guy to charge cab fare, we did not have cash on us (we were then charged a double fare for the pleasure) then more time delays in hiring a car due to poor reception etc. The owners outlined the bus transportation option contained in information booklet in the cabin which is not viable really as this is still a considerable walk of several kms, and buses did not appear to be frequent. Had we known this in advance I would have organised car hire, all valuable learning curves. The location is wonderful, but you definitely need a car. Unless I slipped up here in original information provided, but folks arrange car hire in advance if you can. If not, my suggestion is to walk up to town upon arrival to Airlie Beach and then pick up your car. Taxis were a bit slow also in collecting from the ferry terminal. Finally, whilst the internet reception is fine, phone coverage does not work which is weird, however there are instructions in the booklet should you need to liaise with the property owners.

The messing about with transportation as outlined above. Annoying little midges that seemed to derive great delight in savouring on my blood! The backs of my legs were the main course for these insects, insect repellent was provided but might be a good idea to bring your own and lash it on prior to arrival at accommodation particularly if you are the type who attracts these nasties as they will have their knives and forks ready for you ;) Another observation I have made is these mini-ironing board things which are not ideal. Have seen them in another property and I personally find them awkward to use.

Loved the cabin, the nature, how cosy it was and how welcoming the staff were It was perfect and I saw a wallaby at the end :) Will tell my friends to come and stay here

There is no reception to make a call therefore had to walk away from cabin to find reception but the property had very good WiFi so there was good Internet access. There are no taxis so was hard to find transport to get into town. But will advise people to hire a car in the future. However there was a local bus which was helpful.
