We arrived into Brisbane city on the Airtrain (trains every 30 minutes) from the international terminal - the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Roma street station. There are a few convenience stores within a block of the hotel for milk and other basic supplies. It was just over 10 minutes walk to the Queen street pedestrian mall - plenty of shopping and food outlets. A similar walking distance to the North Quay pier for boarding the city cat ferries. The room was clean and tidy and desk staff were friendly.

Staff were great. Room was small but comfortable… shower was tiny. HOWEVERRRRR… the carpark under the hotel was near impossible to get into and we don’t have a massive car - it would be very VERY easy to have an accident in there (scraping car on the wall etc). We were told to park down there and then come up and get keys etc. There was probably a piece of paper space between the car and the wall on every angle on the way down, and then when we finally got down there there was no parks so we had to squeeze our way back out. Highly stressful carpark, wouldn’t recommend. If you have a car bigger than a Toyota Yaris, I’d highly suggest paying the extra $7 to park at the carpark on Tank Street.

I've stayed with GWH many times prior! And will continue to use these guys as my first option, not only is the location convenient, the staff are exceptionally polite, always happy to help with any enquiries if needed, I genuinely do recommend GWH

Honestly just not being able to get some fresh air with the windows being completely shut off,I do totally understand it though! Safety concerns, guest not respecting the property or facilities and smoking in the rooms and maybe the room I was in i don't know if I was accidently placed in the wrong room, it was just a tad smaller then the last queen room I stayed in but it could just be the position off the building being the corner! but other then that I can't actually say I didn't like anything,

The location was close to where I needed to go and also to the River and main attractions. The restaurant below was very convenient, on the first night being exhausted we ordered and ate in our room without having to go out. The room was spacious and clean, the beds comfortable and at night it was very quiet being on the 7th floor. No view but it didn’t bother us because we were out all day. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The shower was a bit uncomfortable because the hot/cold water was difficult to regulate and when we reached the right temperature it kept changing which was a bit of a problem when washing my toddler, nothing major though! There wasn’t an exhaust fan in the bathroom and one night the fire alarm rang because a guest left the bathroom door open and the steam activated the fire alarm. There’s a warning on the entrance door about this issue but it’s written in very small letters so not noticeable as it should be.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the George Williams. Everything was as advertised—very clean, small but comfortable room, easy check-in, secure parking at a fair rate, and the bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable. It's in an excellent location, walkable to everything in Brisbane, just be careful walking around alone at night as it is near an alleyway where a few interesting types were hanging out (but that's not the hotel's problem). The very friendly staff were extremely helpful and they even let me leave my suitcase and car a little later after check-out.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone with sensitivities to chemical smells. The detergent dispenser in the elevator was very strong and a bit overpowering, and you can definitely notice the cleaning product smells in the room. I could also hear people having a fight outside at night, even from the 7th floor. Aside from that, though, great value for money and definitely recommended.

Location was great. Easy to get to many of Brisbane's services & attractions. The room, although small, was very nice. Super-clean and amenities in good working order. There was a bit of noise outside, but most was from within. The neighbouring rooms sound so close! People can be inconsiderate by slamming doors, etc. which doesn't help.

The bed was a good size, although the mattress seemed to hold a lot of body heat, making it a little warm & uncomfortable if you laid in one spot too often, but I'm being picky here. The overnight reception attendant seemed oblivious to the fact that I was waiting so long to speak with him, as he endlessly detailed the parking arrangements to another guest.

Really enjoyed our stay here, came with my partner for a few days shopping and sight-seeing. Great value for money given the price. I asked for a room with a view and got a nice sunrise-facing room which filled the room with warm light in the mornings. Really great location just a couple of blocks from Queen Street Mall and major bus/train/ferry routes. Room was clean with standard amenities and bed was comfortable. Could store luggage while you wait for check-in. There's a restaurant attached to the hotel downstairs and a coffee stand outside on weekdays.

Bedside power sockets would've been nice. Some noise from other tenants in the hallway but these were one-off and only during the day.

Fantastic location, five minute walk to Queen Street mall and two minutes walk to bus stop. Also there's a bottle shop literally a 15 second walk across the road. Also I don't know why some of the reviews I read were complaining about the size of the room. My room was big enough, no issues at all. Friendly staff. HUGE tv in room, 70" I think. Good price and value for money. Quiet room, didn't hear anything. Great cold air con.

The only reason why I might not stay again and may look at other hotels next time I'm in Brisbane was the fact that you can't open the window, it's locked shut. I like fresh oxygen and to able to air out my room. Such a shame that such a great hotel in every other way has no fresh air in the room. Apart from this my stay was excellent and if the window thing doesn't bother you I recommend staying here 100%.

Location. It was close to everything. Walking around was easy and fun. We were heading to a concert at the river stage. 10 minute walk away. Staff, the front desk was lovely and helpful. We wished we had taken up her parking offer. If they offer a car park, take it. The downstairs cafe was delicious and convenient. Loved the 11am checkout. Allowed for a slow and enjoyable start to the day. Clean and comfortable room. It was very small but it it was stylish and clean. The smart television was huge and had a great range of stations. Had adequate towel and cleaning items.

Parking. Was not aware of the loading area. So we found parking nearby. We got ripped off, and it cost more than expected. Very Small room, and it wasn't very soundproof. We kept hearing a lady yelling. We figured it was the downstairs restaurant. We didn’t mind once we worked out that. We were on the 7th floor, though, so we felt for those in lower level rooms. Weird smell in the foyer near the elevators. You get off the elevator to an unpleasant odour.

Great location, 2 streets away from Queen Street Mall (about a 5 minute walk) Room was super comfortable, staff were lovely & went out of their way to help if any issues arose, comfy beds. 7-11 right downstairs which was great for any little items you might have needed.

The carpark was extremely tight & my car only just fit down there, is a one way only so it's a real struggle if there's a car coming in the opposite direction, very tight alley to access to car parking garage as well.. Had issues with connecting to the WiFi & the Chromecast, wouldn't connect at all.
